Ok- I love Norwegian but this just isn’t their best. So far, we’ve made it to Maui. Which is a whole other post.
First, COVID understaffing. I get it. NCL sent an email that they were understaffed and two restaurants were not going to be open. Fine. But NCL should have said that many of the bars would not be open and the pool restaurant as well. NCL should have at least offered a discount ...
We had issues from Day 1. We were on Pride of America. They announced that staterooms were ready on our floor; we went to our stateroom to find that housekeeping had given up on our room - it was a complete mess and when our son used the toilet, it overflowed and would not stop. They did move us to another room (did that right!). But then it became clear that the ship was completely ...
This was our first time to Hawaii. The cruise was a simple option to get to see all 4 islands without dealing with the hassle of flights and hotels and transportation.
Many things were closed. Several specialty dining, East Meets West, shaved ice cream bar, Liberty. We only ate at Skyline one night and it was terrible. Pasta was dry, chicken was tiny and sweet potato cubes were like rocks. We ...
This was on my wife’s bucket list and her birthday and as of May 28th 2022 the ship wasn’t ready. They set capacity at 40 % and a little over 400 crew members out of over 900. The food other than the 2 open specialty restaurants that you pay for extra, even with package you pay a up charge for surf and turf. The entertainment was terrible,I’ve been to a karaoke bar been better. The staff did a ...
If you want a floating hotel around the Hawaiian islands, Pride of America is great. If you are looking for an amazing ship and cruising experience, look elsewhere. My family has been on many cruises over the years, but this is the first one we picked for the destination. For reasons I don’t quite understand, it was cheaper for us to get a family suite than it was for any two other rooms on the ...
After 24 cruises this was the most disappointing one we have done, after paying a premium price to do this cruise the ship was only half opened due to staff shortage.
Covid safety was non existent, no mandatory sanitising to enter dining room or buffet.
No sanitising required to re-board ship after shore excursions.
Shore excursions overpriced and underwhelming and always finished half ...
Over half of the ship is closed due to staff shortage, most of the time there is only 2 bars open.
Covid safety protocols are non existent, no mandatory sanitising to enter dining room or buffet so most people just walk through without sanitising. No gangway sanitising when returning from shore excursions. A lot of sneezing and coughing on board towards end of cruise.
Not many dining options ...
1) most restaurants closed and those open had horrible service. Skyline kicked us out after we sat down to eat dinner. Made us stand in line and had to leave because it took forever for them to reopen.
2) they discriminate wheelchair users . Sylvia and the shore excursion dept is a joke. They canceled our shore excursion the day before my birthday because they didn’t want to accommodate the ...
NCL doesn’t disclose that more than half of the specialty dining venues are closed. Also only bars mid-ship around the pool are open. Various gelato, coffee bars, and snack areas are closed. Shore excursions are less than what is on the website. If you want the entertainment and variety of food venues, this is NOT the cruise for you. Clientele was 80% over 60 and clearly there for the buffet. ...
We booked a family cruise to celebrate my parents 65th wedding anniversary, Mother's Day and my birthday. We had 4 large balcony staterooms and a suite. Cost was approx. $10,000 (very expensive) a stateroom with the suite being more. We stayed in the large balcony next to the suite at the front of the boat. Our view was partially obstructed or smaller than the others because we were in the ...
