Terrible Food and Lame Entertainment

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

The food in Cafe Blu was horrible. I am a plant eater mostly. My choices were limited and tasteless. My husband found the meats in the Ocean View Cafe to be over cooked. I have noticed on our last 3 cruises with Celebrity that the quality of food has gone down. The entertainment has always been slow, but enjoyable. However, during this cruise the entertainment was unimaginative. I felt like the ...

Where do you Start.? The Good - The Staterooms ( Balcony) are bigger than other cruise lines - The corridors are bigger - The Captain was outstanding. in communication and very funny. That unfortunately is where it ends The Ship is tired - Cabin Curtains with holes - Carpets worn and stained - Public rooms are worn and tired Particularly the Passport Bar. Theatre seating very shabby. The ...

Worst Trans-ocean Cruise

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

We’ve done many transatlantic and transpacific cruises, most of which offered many activities and good entertainment for the many sea days. Unfortunately, this 18-day transpacific cruise was sorely lacking in both entertainment and enrichments opportunities, and was a boring experience overall. This was made all the worse by inclement weather that forced us to spend a lot of time indoors. And the ...

Great itinerary, not so great ship

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

We did a New England cruise on the Jewel in 2010 and had a wonderful time: Staff was friendly, entertainment was great and food was outstanding. Sad to say that none of this applied to the cruise we just completed: Embarkation: We were directed into the wrong line up as attendants were not aware of the priority check in for diamond members. First impressions: The ship appeared in good ...

Low quality and lack of entertainment

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Noordam

We chose this cruise because of itinerary (ports of call). There were a lot of sea days, but past experiences told us that we would have decent entertainment and events to fill the time. Wrong! Holland America, has cut back so drastically on the quality of the cruise experience, that we would avoid travelling with them again. We paid substantial money, and did not get decent value for it. ...

Captive days at sea

PROS: I have to disagree with many of the reviews that decried the quality of the dining. We found dinner to be quite pleasant, even if the menu did become a little repetitive. Our waiter and assistant waiter were outstanding, and we couldn't go wrong by following their suggestions. Dinner was served efficiently so that we usually could make it to the early show in time, and the cafeteria offered ...

This was the only cruise line sailing from Hawaii to Australia at the time we were going. On-board check was done ahead of time yet we had to go through it all over again. Very disconcerting. The too narrow sofa had a stained mattress. Ugh! Dining was just so-so. The extra dining rooms were priced high at $50/person. Much too pricey. They would stand outside the main dining area and ...

A relatively EXPRENSIVE 17 DAY TRANSITION CRUISE TO SYDNEY FROM HONOLULU...Lots of people sick from on board virus..(removed number 0ver 200). food in dinning room and buffet monotonous and bland. Asst Ma'de tried to calm us down over food issues and brought chef to us--who then made excuses about trying to please guest who didn't like spicy or tasty food. (Cruise line trying to please wrong ...

Having sailed on Celebrity’s Eclipse last year on the Baltic I was expecting the same high standard on her sister ship Solstice, well nothing could be further from the truth. The overall vibe of the ship was a bit hit and miss, there were some good aspects, some not so good. Let’s look at the good stuff. The cruise itself, 18 nights plenty of sea days and wonderful weather. Embarkation ...

Mainly to see the islands on the the way to Hawaii. Ports of call were uninteresting and third world islands - nothing there. Also schedule was wrong as most ports visited were on public holidays, shops bars and restaurant were closed. Too much time spent at sea and nothing to do. Swimming pools 3 in all were too shallow, too small and too crowded. Lawn bowling green was under repair, ...
