Embarkation and cabin: We embarked in Hong Kong for a 7 night cruise via Vietnam to Singapore (after to land tour in China). We were travelling with friends who were experiencing their first cruise (we've done over 20 and this was our 3rd with RC). Embarkation was very quick and easy, as Voyager was the only ship in port that day. Our 'spacious balcony cabin' was ready for us (12:45 ish I guess) ...
We booked in March for this cruise. My father and mother-in-laws have poor walking abilities and they do not enjoy flying. But they do want to see Vietnam so we booked this cruise which visit two Vietnam ports.
First of all, embarkation in Hong Kong is not great. Kai Tak Terminal is very busy because this ship and Dream Cruises are both embarking on the same day. The queues are very long. ...
This was our 37th cruise and 10th on RCCL. By far, the ship was the biggest disappointment we have ever had and not up to the standards we have come to expect from RCCL.
Voyager of the Seas is heading for drydock next year but by the looks of her, she should have been there last year.
* The hull is a patchwork of rust and paint. Usually, they paint them so much that it always looks ...
My wife and I chose the cruise as it was going to Japan where we had never been. We were never advised by Royal Caribbean or the travel agent that the cruise would be mainly occupied by the Chinese. I have nothing against Chinese but when it came to dining they occupied all the tables and chairs in the Buffet restaurant. After they finished their meals they would not leave the table but would ...
I chose this cruise as we wanted to visit Vietnam Hong Kong & Singapore. The cruise was a means to do this. I chose RCI to complete all aspects of our holiday and have regretted this. Believing they had worked all areas of our holiday to connect with each other, flights, hotels & cruise, I didn't question anything. Then to find when we got to the airport our flight had already departed while we ...
Overall this was a good cruise on a nice ship, but with some disappointing aspects - particularly entertainment.
Embarkation at Hong Kong was a disaster - waiting 2hrs to photocopy our passports for immigration. Only 1 assistant and 1 copier for the whole queue. Very poor information from RCI regarding immigration requirements.
Food and service in the main dining room were variable - ...
We chose this cruise because we wanted to explore South East Asia, with a great start and finish for further exploring.
Hong Kong and Singapore didn't disappoint, however we have had many better experiences on Royal Caribbean ships in the past and there was evidence of cost cutting (less choice in the drinks package, less variety in Windjammer and less experienced staff, particularly the ...
I will keep this review brief. The food on the ship was way below standard. The food in the Saphire Restaurant was only just above the buffet standard at times and we consider ourselves pretty easily satisfied. The entertainment on board was a 6 out of 10, excluding the ice show which was fantastic. The onboard activities were limited. If you didnt like trivia there wasnt alot of other options! ...
We have sailed on about 7 Royal Caribbean ships to various destinations around the world, and In June went on Freedom of the seas round the med., which was similar to this one in that we noticed a real change in the quality of food then, but this cruise with Voyager was something else! Firstly the 3.5 hour queue on embarkation, with hundreds or possible a couple of thousand waiting in line for ...
We wanted to have a little taste of Asia with the view of returning there if we enjoyed it.
The ship was very nice and easily navigated on board. Unfortunately there is no bar at the back but plenty of activities for family and children through to young adults.
The queues on board for everything were disastrous - 2 hrs at customer service, 3 deep and waiting long periods for a drink at the ...
