I will keep this review brief. The food on the ship was way below standard. The food in the Saphire Restaurant was only just above the buffet standard at times and we consider ourselves pretty easily satisfied. The entertainment on board was a 6 out of 10, excluding the ice show which was fantastic. The onboard activities were limited. If you didnt like trivia there wasnt alot of other options! ...
We have sailed on about 7 Royal Caribbean ships to various destinations around the world, and In June went on Freedom of the seas round the med., which was similar to this one in that we noticed a real change in the quality of food then, but this cruise with Voyager was something else! Firstly the 3.5 hour queue on embarkation, with hundreds or possible a couple of thousand waiting in line for ...
Not having cruised before, I wanted to try a short cruise from Hong Kong. I had an interior stateroom on deck 9 without a virtual balcony. I didn't mind this as I didn't plan to spend a lot of time in the room apart from sleeping or napping. I preferred to sit up on deck to watch the passing scenery. The China coastline along the way to Sanya was quite spectacular.
Organisation of the shore ...
We were hoping for a positive culinary experience aboard this ship but was crestfallen to discover that this cruise line serves cafeteria food at best. Food in the dining room was stale, low-quality, and unappealing. Dining on the decent salad bar in the Windjammer Cafe became our only option. Additionally, beware of significant price changes. Before our trip we received a high number of emails ...
I am writing to share my totally dissatisfying cruising experience with RCI and their poor complaint handling practice. During the trip, my old mum and her old buddy (over seventies) suffered so much and said won’t cruise anymore because of such bad experience provided by RCI. I wrote a complaint to RCI after the trip, and what they said is the trip was “successfully delivered”. I am so frustrated ...
It is a large ship. The check-in took over an hour & half. Due to the fact we had not been told to bring a copy of our passports. Otherwise ok. The ship itself is quite impressive. Very clean & some great friendly staff. A few issues- guest services queues up to 1.5 hours only 1 or 2 people at the most to help you. They do not have a money exchange desk so you have to use the guest services. The ...
Demarcation at HK was a fiasco, not enough staff on arrival with no welcome, very long queues for a piece of paper that could have been sent out in advance.
Virtual screen worked only 1 day out of 7, despite repeatedly reporting.
Drinks package misrepresented at time of booking by planet cruise staff, so not directly RCLs fault but understand from a rock staff member that titling of drinks ...
* We began our cruise in wonderful City of Hong Kong where we spent 4 wonderful days before our cruise. There was plenty to see and do with my family of three and 4 other couple making up a party of eleven. We undertook the get on get off bus tours around the city which took us to most parts of Hong Kong and out to the small and quaint village of Russell. Disneyland, the Peak, shopping, riding the ...
My husband and I are fairly new to cruising holidays. We have cruised with MSC, Carnival and Norwiegn. We chose RC mainly for the itinary and we thought we would be fine with RC having heard good reviews about them. WRONG!! Believe me...this is the worst cruise there is going. Every aspect was a total joke! Embarkation was lengthy, apparently you need a copy of your passport before you ...
We chose this cruise to celebrate my husbands retirement having previously holidayed on the Brilliance of the Seas. ..Oh dear!...this was definitely the most disappointing adventure so far! The ship was sooo overcrowded and we had to queue for absolutely anything and everything. Guest relations was understaffed and the queues lasted hours, then to deal with poor untrained staff..a complete ...
