We are a retired couple from the UK. Seasoned travellers and been on over 50 cruises with all the major players. Never been to any of these places so we were attracted to this cruise. Big mistake. The ship is old, tired and needs to be out to sleep. Rust everywhere and painting over it doesn't help. The smell on our deck was revolting. We didn't need to ask what it was - that was obvious. What I found odd was the fact that they couldn't fix it. Thousands of pounds spent to have 19 days putting up with something smelling like the inside of a public lavatory or sewage plant. Simply not good enough ! As for the rest of the ship, our room was kept clean and tidy. Plus marks as usual to the stateroom staff. They deserve every penny they get Entertainment was average. Each headliner performed at least twice, some even more. The comedian was dire.it's not funny to make fun of where audience members come from and that constituted his whole act. They did host a few trivia sessions, no themes at all, Only general trivia with some wacky way out questions. It's no fun if the questions are too surreal . nd there are too many times when the answers they have were wrong. That's just embarassing Only one port had a tender and they managed to muck up the tender ticket allocation process. They gave out numbered tickets on a first come first served basis. Only they realised that they were giving out the wrong tickets and started to give out new ones after about an hour. Meant that those who queued early ( me included ) had invalid tickets, had to queue again and as such got delayed getting off . A total farce Food was disappointing. I've been on a few Princess ships and the difference in quality here was very noticeable. Small portions delivered cold in the MDR. Food also cold in the buffet. And what happened to the complimentary soft serve ice cream usually available on the pool deck ? Replaced with chargeable ice cream at $5 a scoop. That's just mean. I feel sorry for families with kids Ports were as expected. I'm still critical of cruise lines on!y giving out port information which gets them money I've written to Princess about the smell. Hopefully they will reply but I'm not holding my breath - unlike in board where I had to Read Less

Over the years we have had many cruises on a variety of ships, this cruise from Hong Kong to Brisbane is by far the worst we have experienced. Boarding was a big plus in Hong Kong but on boarding there was no assistance to find our cabin, no little ship map, nobody to point us in the direction we needed. 1st evening drinks in the schooner bar were a disaster as the noise was horrendous with someone on a mike trying to talk down the crowd, we moved to the Centrum only to be blasted by a 6 piece band playing at 150 decibels in a small area. So much for a quiet drink, & this kept up for the entire journey, there just wasn't anywhere to get away from the constant noise of people screaming into microphones in the lounges or on deck. The only quiet spot was the Viking Crown lounge but you were barred after 4.30pm. Main dining had to be the most poorly organized, an evening meal could take over 2 hours, lunch was the same with only soup & main being served in that time. We never got deserts as after 2 hours we gave up & left The Windjammer bistro was permenantly overcrowded, breakfast omlete could take 1/2 hour in line to be served, only 1 server/cook for 2000 people, toast was served by 1 opereator with 1 toaster with long lines for service. We won't mention the quality of the food on offer but needless to say it was cold, tastless, poorly presented, meats were generally rehashed from previous offerings & hot didn't occur. After 2 days at sea the bars ran out of Australian & S/E asia beers on a ship full of Australians. Drink vending & ice cream machines constantly had signs "out of order" on them or were not refilled. 60 % of passengers contracted a chest/throat infection due {I think} to the poorly maintained air filters etc. The ship had a terrible musty smell about it, It took us 5 hours to get off the ship in Bali by tender & then 3 hours to get back on If you didn't buy a ship's tour {seriously overpriced} you were relegated to getting off after all tours had departed. Wait staff were constantly saying sorry for the poor food quality being served up & our waiter would bring back-up main courses for that which was rejected Have just been to the GP because of the virus contracted on the ship, am advised it is a serious bout of broncitus bordering on pnumonia & could take a month to recover using antibiotics We will not be back on a Royal Carabean ship again & many passengers I spoke with said the same, NEVER AGAIN Read Less

The legend of the seas from Hong Kong to Brisbane. What a disaster.Nothing to like about this cruise.Food dry and tasteless, same unappetizing food in both the dining room and the Windjammer buffet.Cakes could be used as frisbies so dry and rubbery .We had to climb into bed from the end as the was no side access.Toilet blocked up twice.Staff although friendly and did their job it was very hard to communicate as their English was very poor.As for the coffee, you needed to pay extra for a double shot so you could taste the coffee.Took my complaints to the Guest services manager who promised to get the food and beverage manager to contact me ,I'm still waiting. Also a 20 minute tender trip took 50 minutes as we waited with no airconditioning while 2 other tenders unloaded supplies. To top it off they left envelopes in the room for tips after we had already paid gratuities. Definitely would not cruise with Royal Caribbean again.Feel ripped off. Read Less
