We went on this cruise as we had missed calling in Vietnam on an earlier cruise this year, when we were on the Quest. We loved the refurbishment on the Journey and yes the bathrooms are still small etc but you don't spend a lot of time in the bathroom.
Embarkation in Hong Kong was very smooth and quick, after a welcome champagne our stateroom was ready and the luggage arrived promptly. Sailing ...
We arrived in HK 5 days earlier visiting friends and staying in a hotel in Kowloon not far from Harbour City Cruise Terminal. Our 13nt cruise then commenced with a quick embarkation in HK. As we had a late check-out included with our hotel room rate, we decided to leave for the port around 2pm, the first taxi driver shrugged his shoulders when I verbally asked him for transport to the port, even ...
This was my third curise with Azamara, all on this same ship. I enjoyed both of the cruises I had taken previously (as I have just about all of the nearly 30 cruises I’ve been on over the years) which is why I booked this cruise two years ago and a major reason for why I looked forward to it ever since booking. I must say that Azamara did not disappoint me and that I wholeheartedly recommend ...
It was a last minute decision to go on a cruise and this was the only one available. We booked two days before embarkation and arrived in Hong Kong the night before departure. The ship was beautiful and the staff very friendly. Although it is a French speaking ship, English was well catered for, with all crew bi-lingual. Announcements were made in French then repeated in English.
This being our ...
I chose this cruise because I liked the itinerary and one of the stops was Israel and wanted to see Jerusalem. I have sailed this similar cruise 2 years ago starting in Hong Kong but this time the embarkation was a nightmare. it was difficult to know who was in line for what. I think many of the 1,500 people thought the ship was going to leave without them the way they pushed and shoved to get ...
We close this itinerary because although we have been to Asia on many occasions we had not been to most of these ports. The ship had many highlights specifically the rooms were great as was the staff. There was a difference of opinion on food,I enjoyed more than my wife. Every night you could special order a different appetizer or entree including lobster tails as many as you want, steaks caviar ...
First the good - cabin was nicely appointed and extremely comfortable. We booked last minute and had to take a deluxe ocean view cabin on deck 4. We were pleasantly surprised! It was quiet, conveniently located just below the coffee bar which made it so easy to get my early morning cappuccino, dining room, nightly entertainment (walk one floor down when it was over and in our cabin in about 3 ...
This review is for the Nautica cruise to South East Asia departing from Hong Kong on 24 January 2016.
Overall we had an absolutely fabulous cruise with a varied and interesting itinerary, the highlights being Ho Chi Minh (Saigon), Brunei and Singapore. We also took a privately arranged add on from Bangkok to Siem Reap for Angkor Wat which was the icing on the cake. Travelling on a smaller ...
We picked a French ship, Ponant's l'Austral because her schedule it perfectly with our land tour in Japan afterwards. And then, we are always up for new experiences. We, that is my husband and I in our late 60ies. Before the cruise, we stayed 4 nights in Hong Kong on our own and afterwards, we joined a land tour with UniqueJapan.
We took L’Austral from Hong Kong to Tianjin (Bejing) and ...
The ship, meals and staff were quite good. The excursion department left much to be desire. The tour in Taiwan lasted about half the allotted time and much of that was spent with our tour guide looking for most of the group. He seemed like a nice man, but he just took off without even a head count so he was unsure if our group was together on the bus at departure or not. Some of the older members ...
