Review for a Asia Cruise on Viking Orion

Itinerary was perfect for us with concentration on Japanese ports. We wanted to sail with Viking since we only have booked with Oceania. Service is outstanding with Viking. As for restaurants, the Chef’s Table specialty is fantastic. Wine pairings are very well done. Manfredi’s is way off track attempting to represent Italian cuisine. The food is just not good regardless of whatever ...

We chose Azamara as we wanted to try a smaller ship experience. Small it most definitely was with a bathroom you could hardly turn around in. I can’t begin to imagine how a large person would manage. The swimming pool was the size of a bathtub so if you enjoy a proper holiday swim forget it! The passengers were from all parts of the world & it was interesting to meet a huge cross section ...

This was our 3rd & certainly NOT the last cruise with Azamara, as we enjoy the small ship environment. We were concerned about getting to the Ocean Terminal because of the protest in Hong Kong, but fortunately that did not materialize. As such, we were able to take the Airport Express MTR from the airport to the Kowloon MTR station, where we caught a free shuttle bus to the Marco Polo Hotel, ...

was a wonderful trip, only had one problem and that was with having the bar in our suite stocked. If Viking would ask your liquor preference before the trip the problem would have been avoided. Cabin was very large and well appointed. The excursions were wonderful and always on time. Our cabin steward was great as well as the dining room staff. The specialty dining was very good and ...

We went on this cruise with some friends because we wanted to take a cruise in Asia and it had to be in a very limited 3 week time frame. Cruising out of Hong Kong to Japan was very easy because it required no special visas. First, the cruise itself was very enjoyable. We all enjoyed the ports of call and the cruise staff. However, the Voyager itself is in a sad state. I had seen ...

Good port stops-be wary about lack of staff, pushy people, and bad, bad internet

Hello, I am in a position to be reviewed online to form service so I always ask, should I do this? And you know what, I should because telling the truth makes the world a better place. And RC needs to know and read a common experience so they can there support and advertising. First the ship is amazing, food tasty, and mostly ALL good, like five stars good. I cruise a lot and will stay on RC ...

Hong Kong to Tokyo 16 days. This was are Second Viking cruise as previously sailed on V.Sea. We found Orion to be a better experience this time around. Orion did not seem so bland as Sea, certainly more pop of colour around the ship. We had a Penthouse Verandah on Deck 5. The room was bright clean and well looked after by our cabin stewards who were very friendly and always had a smile on ...

Started with this 2-week cruise from Hong Kong to Tokyo, then a week in Japan on our own. We did a Viking River (Grand European) last year so wanted to try one of their ocean cruises. Loved the Orion. Beautifully designed public spaces without over the top, trying too hard of some of the other, bigger ships. True casual elegance. All very spacious, comfortable AND at the same time cozy. ...

Special birthday, new destinations, somewhere we have wanted to go for many years, a cruise seemed a good way to do it. Orion is a fabulous ship, the crew, facilities and comfort are first class. Travel arrangements were well organised and transfers were good. Stateroom is well appointed and very comfortable and has everything you could possibly want. All restaurants are exceptional, ...

Silversea markets itself as a high end luxury ship.

Review for a Asia Cruise on Silver Muse

Silversea markets itself as a high end luxury liner and for the most part it meets its hype. People joining Grand Voyages part way through, hoping on and off after a few days and discount cruisers tend to bring down the luxury experience. The Muse is a well-designed ship for intimate cruising with nicely designed suites, multiple restaurants, bars and open spaces to relax. The suites are spacious, ...
