Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Noordam

We are regular cruisers and have been on the Nieuw Amsterdam and the Westerdam, as well as several ships from other companies. This was a 22 night cruise from Venice to Barcelona, and was very port intensive. First the good things: Smooth embarkation, arrived 1130 just as they started boarding, and were able to drop our hand baggage in the cabin by 1215. Holland America always have 48 hours of ...

Mediterranean cruise Venice-Istanbul-Venice 12 days

This was our fourth HAL cruise, all which have been in the Mediterranean, and this itinerary was almost identical to a cruise we did in 2010, with a few different ports. Our first sailing on the Nieuw Amsterdam, we found the ship familiar as we have sailed the Noordam, Eurodam and Westerdam on prior sailings. We were a party of four, with mom and sister sailing for the first time with us. My ...

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Nieuw Amsterdam

Our experience with HAL pre-cruise was fantastic: I called up to fix a name change a couple weeks before we left, all worried-like cause I'm used to dealing with airlines. Didn't have to wait on hold for long - they said they'd fix it and had no trouble doing so, and by the way, did I know that the price of our cabin had gone down like 50%? I said, yes I definitely did, but I didn't think that ...

Lovely cruise - feeling pampered during 12 day Mediterranean Empires!

We fully enjoyed our 12 day cruise and the crew and staff has worked endlessly to make this cruise a successful one for all passengers. This is our second cruise with HAL (and the same ship, only now 12 versus 7 days) and ship is in tip-top-shape. Staff is engaged, starting from the bussy embarkation day, talking to us & other guests, but also during the cruise and the hearty 'farewell' during ...

This was our first ever cruise. Firstly a thank you for the immense extra help and guidance given to us by our agent who went above and beyond to secure our holiday and spent a great deal of time advising us on ports and locations after we had booked. He even gave advice on port excursions for my father's Baltic cruise even though the booking was not with him. We would always recommend his ...

Excellent ship to sail in. Beautifully appointed, very comfortable and well maintained. Crew take care to ensure passengers are well cared for at all times, Holland America is very professional in the running of their ships. I have sailed in other HAL vessels. They make you feel welcome and part of their family. The on board entertainment is of a high standard and very popular. The embarkation ...

We've been home almost three months and still can't stop raving about the cruise. he food was excellent. There was a wide selection of menu items as well as venues in which to eat. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor sailaway meals on the rear decks. Just outstanding. I had a veal chop in the main dining room that could have been served in the finest land-based restaurant. The Pinnacle was ...

Pros - great itinerary with varied ports of call - staff was excellent - the ship was in excellent condition and well maintained except for 1 of the hot tubs that was constantly needing attention, not much of a concern as we don't use hot tubs - lots of activities on board, but got repetitive after the 6th day, could use some more variety - Pinnacle Grill was excellent, food was 5 ...
