Almost flawless

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Oosterdam

We enjoy spending time in Europe in the fall and then sailing home on a trans-Atlantic with our preferred lines - Holland America and Cunard. We appreciated the itinerary as it was full of ports we enjoyed . We also greatly enjoy the ambience on HAL ships. We boarded without issue at Barcelona , concluding ten wonderful days in Spain. The ship was spotless and remained so through our 15 days ...

More than met my expectations

Review for a Africa Cruise on Zuiderdam

Itinerary- Africa at the top of my bucket list. Most ports were readily available to walk through. Ship tours ranged in price- from inexpensive to YIKES! Even though I now travel solo, I was comfortable and at ease. Staff on board exceptional- always willing to answer questions, give directions when we got lost or needed more information. Cabin stewards were always going the extra mile to make ...

Exhausting, but enjoyable Mediterranean cruise and a word to the wise.

This was our third Holland cruise and most ambitious. A Mediterranean cruise is inherently busy because of all the port stops. Several ports are commercial ports, so bus travel is required to get to the attractions. The Oosterdam, as with all Holland ships is meticulously maintained. The crew was very friendly and our cabin stewards Gusti and Mifta were top notch. We had a cabin on the ...

Having It All

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Oosterdam

My lifelong dream was to visit Venice. I selected this itinerary as it included an extra night in Trieste with excursions to Venice. Ships can no longer port in Venice and if you plan to visit, you will have a longer commute. It is what it is. I did not purchase travel insurance, but did use HAL "Flight-Ease" to book my flights as they will accommodate any disruptions in travel. I also ...

Lovely cruise on an older but well-maintained ship!

We (my husband and I, our daughter and son-in-law) chose this Mediterranean cruise for the interesting port stops in Italy, Greece and Malta. We mainly used private tours or explored on our own; the only ship-sponsored excursion we did was to Delos, off the island of Mikonos. The Delos excursion was run efficiently and we enjoyed the knowledgeable guide who spoke excellent English. It was ...

This is our first HAL Cruise, and I’m sold. My wife and I have been on just about every cruise line, but finally we have found our niche. Holland offers everything I want. The ship is spotless, the crew most hospitable and professional. The services on the ship from dining to cabin service top notch. For those who are concerned, there are multiple closets and under-bed drawers that are very large. ...

We choose this cruise due to the ports and sites it covered. We were not disappointed! Although a couple of the ports we wanted to sail to were exchanged, we were not unhappy with the changes. The boarding and disembarkation were perfect. We learnt a lot from excellent conferences. The food and entertainment were par for what we xpected from this great cruise line. Our cabin stewards cabin 2572 ...

Great trip - back to cruising

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Oosterdam

Great return to cruising - HAL exceeded my expectation from food, service and fun. We were a family of 4- 2 kids aged 9 and 12. The Med Itinerary was excellent- only place I would not want to return to was Albania. I really enjoyed the stop and the day at sea. It was a busy cruise and very hot so we enjoyed getting back to the ship each evening for a swim in the pool and a few Aperol spritz. Great ...

Oosterdam Returns Strong from Pandemic for 14-day Eastern Med Cruise

We (2 50s parents and 2 18yo children) cruised on Oosterdam for two weeks, joining about a month after her return to service. Overall, this was an excellent cruise for us, and we actually think it was better than our 25-day 2019 Mediterranean cruise on the Koningsdam. We selected the cruise primarily for itinerary--lots of ports, and places we mostly had not visited previously. With one ...

Trans-Atlantic Crossing 2021

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Eurodam

The passengers on this cruise seemed to fall into two broad categories: people who were using credits from cruises cancelled during Covid and people who just aren't willing to fly. I fell into the first category. I enjoy just being on the ocean, sailing somewhere, anywhere. What's there not to like? The people in the second category did not expand on the reasons why they spent 2 weeks making a ...
