I chose this cruise because I live on the central coast of California and it's easy to get to Seattle, and who doesn't want to see Alaska! I've cruised with Holland America before, so I felt confident that the ship would be lovely and the staff and service would be excellent. I was not disappointed. The itinerary was very pleasant. Distances in Alaska our huge, so there seemed to be a fair ...

First off, embarkation and disembarkation was very easy and uncomplicated. It went very smoothly. There was a longshoreman to take take your bags prior to setting in foot in terminal. The other cruise line that takes out of Pier 91, has your take your own luggage to drop off in the terminal prior to starting the boarding process. Our cabin was a deluxe verandah and was very well maintained. ...

This was my first cruise, so please know that I don't have much to compare it too. Although, I have traveled to various cities around the globe, and would consider myself a seasoned traveler (and foodie). When we decided to finally see Alaska, we felt that a cruise was the way to go, and after much research (mostly on the Cruise Critic website) we decided to go with Holland America since the ...

We chose this cruise because my mother-in-law started talking about wanting to take a cruise the very day my husband and I returned from a 14-day Southern Caribbean cruise in March. We opted for a Seattle roundtrip cruise, to avoid having to hassle with flights, since we live in Seattle. We chose the Oosterdam because we had enjoyed our recent cruise which was also on Holland America. My ...

I traveled with 3 friends. We decided on this cruise because it was a good deal and we all have Alaska on our "Places to see" lists. Embarkation and disembarkation went as smoothly as possible I thought. This was my first cruise so I have nothing to compare it to. I would go again but not to Alaska, on a cruise. I feel like we could have seen more of Alaska had we flown in or something. I would ...

We shared an ocean view cabin, deck 1,#1008. I was a little concerned about the location when ...

We didn't want to leave the ship!! We got spoiled really fast with an upgrade to a Neptune Suite. The room provides access to the Neptune Lounge which has seating areas for watching TV, reading, or conversing, a table for playing cards/games, and serves snacks all day, as well as coffee, tea, and juice. There is also a dedicated concierge desk staffed by the most helpful individuals. Sandy ...

Our second time on Holland America to Alaska. Chose to cruise from Seattle on the Westerdam. It was absolutely fabulous. The ship was spotless, and everywhere you went there was someone cleaning or polishing. We had an inside cabin, which was quite adequate for a week, and the stewards kept the cabin in great order. The ship never felt crowded, we always found somewhere quiet to sit. We only ate ...

Another great experience on HAL

We just got back from a 7 day cruise on the Westerdam, R/T from Seattle. I can not say enough about how great it was. This was our 3rd cruise on HAL and it did not disappoint. The room was spacious, lots of storage and our stewards kept it immaculate. There was bad weather predicted in Sitka, and the Captain was good about keeping us advised. We had to skip Sitka but had full days in ...
