Good but some disappointments

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Eurodam

We chose the 20 day repositioning cruise from Vancouver to Ft Lauderdale mainly for an opportunity to relax and be pampered..not as much for the ports of call en route. My husband has mobility issues and we didn’t expect to do many excursions ( I did 3 and he, 2). We welcomed days at sea. We chose a Signature suite because more spacious. The bathroom was lovely and we did like extra room ...

Eurodam 21 day Panama Canal Seattle – Fort Lauderdale 10-7-23 This is a long, detailed, "Daily log" type of review. If you just want the summary, scroll down to the bottom! :-) Pre-Cruise travel: Thursday, October 5, 2023 Andy from Air & Cruise car service picked us up at about 6:50 for our drive to Fort Lauderdale airport for our 10:45 flight on Southwest. It was good that he was a ...

Less than advertised, a huge dissapointment for the money spent

My experience on the Nieuw Amsterdad was far from what was advertised. I did not find the dining to be top notch. Pinnicle was very overrated. I tried the porkchop and needed a chainsaw to cut it. My wife tried the Hallibut and it was so dry you could use it as an ink blotter. The main dining room was mediocre at best. We were at sea 11 days of our 15 day cruise because 4 ports were ...

We chose this cruise and the cruiseline because of tbe itinerary. Before start of the cruise we already received change of itinerary whereby 1 port of call was cancelled. During the cruise 2 other ports of call (out of 6 remaining!) were cancelled (due to wrather conditions and mechanical problems to the ship) and 1 was changed due to political troubles. As a compensation we received 200 USD non ...

The Most Disappointing Travel/Cruise Experience Ever

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Nieuw Amsterdam

I am incredibly disappointed, frustrated and feel ripped off that I paid full price for a Holland America Cruise, that did not cater to my age group, and had so many port stops cancelled. On top of this, the Shore Excursions advertised by Holland America on the Navigator App, and website were not what was delivered by the Tour Guides and the Greenhouse Spa experience was also very substandard. ...

After booking and paying for this cruise, we got an update stating that our first port of call had been cancelled then a second port of call had also been cancelled, the replacement on the first port had been changed to Seattle, we live in Vancouver BC, the second cancellation no substitute provided. While on the ship other ports had also been cancelled one due to weather one because of civil ...

20 DAY PANAMA CANAL CRUISE

Joined others on this voyage to celebrate one of our travel family member's 80th birthday. She has some 40+ cruises on several different lines, but likes HAL as one of her top 3 lines. Over-all the cruise was enjoyable, but at a lower level in many respects when compared to pre-covid cruises. I think we all understand that the industry lost a ton of money, sold ships to the scrappers to offset ...

We had never been on a Panama Canal cruise even after having sailed on more than 50 cruises. Our cabin was a balcony and was very nice. This cabin was smaller than some we have enjoyed but was still fine. The fact it had a tub/shower was nice. The beds were comfortable with very nice pillows. The fact there was no turndown service was disappointing. This is the first time we have encountered this, ...

20 Days on the Eurodam

We chose this cruise since it was billed as a Big Game Cruise with a Slot Tournament. We didn't book for the Itinerary as we'd been to most of these places before. We booked at a casino rate in an Oceanview cabin. Since we had a room with no balcony we decided to rent a cabana in the Retreat so we could be outside when we wanted to be in our own area. This turned out to be wonderful. Two weeks ...

Solid HAL cruise as long as you have a realistic expectation

My wife and I just returned from a 10-day Panama Canal Cruise from HAL Eurodam. We flew down to FLL on Friday March 24. It’s the tail end of Spring Break and every hotel near the airport was $300 per night or more. I booked a room using Marriott Bonvoy points at Towneplace Suites Ft Lauderdale West. It’s a 25-minute drive from the airport, but even if we had booked a hotel near the ...
