This was our first cruise so expectations were high. First and foremost all crew members were welcoming, kind, professional and very helpful. The stateroom had a veranda which was perfect, however, the bathroom shower curtain had some mold on it and should have been replaced. Housekeeping cleaned the room two times daily and did a good job. The Lido deck was crowded and often times it was a ...
Very nice ship, with lots of space per passenger, and quiet places to sit with views of the water. Very good service in cabin and restaurants. Disappointing entertainment; Lincoln Center no longer offered, and main stage entertainment was mediocre. Boarding process was uncomfortable, due to 2 ships at pier in San Diego, forcing us to wait 1.5-2.5 hours in the cold, rainy weather until we ...
Warning, if you are one of the “IheartHAL” clan and constantly excusing any service issues to protect your diminishing loyalty benefits , please don't read on. You wont like it!
Like to share a recent experience on HAL Koningsdam. For balance we are in our early sixties, well travelled and cruised ( 30 plus sailings) but first time on HAL.
We wanted to visit South Pacific and unlike most ...
This was a fantastic 35 day cruise. Everything was not perfect but nothing in life ever is.
We flew into San Diego a day early and stayed at the Wyndham Bayside hotel that is right across the street from the pier.
The next morning we went right across the street to board the cruise. They were calling 4 and 5 star mariners first. Since we were 4 star we went right in. We had to wait ...
Amazing time!
Great food in all places
Great service all around
Ports, we love the Aqua Trax at Halfmoon Cay. We appreciated the clean up and move of clam shells down the beach.
Grand Turks- Margaritaville stay- their is a beach at Port. John Glenn exhibit to the right is cool then a smaller beach behind it.
Amber Cove - did a bus City tour. Tour guy Homberto was great. Stopped ...
The ship was clean and beautiful, everything seemed to be working, and the service was absolutely fabulous. The Eurodam is a little older now, but still very nice. On service, standouts were our cabin steward who helped our disabled mother very much in her suite, the management in the Tamarind, who went above and beyond, and the disembarkation help we received because we were traveling with a ...
My wife and I chose this cruise to share with my brother and his wife. They had only been on one cruise before and not on Holland America. My brother and I are very avid music lovers and my ,brother’s wife is as well. My wife also enjoys music but is not as much.
We all agreed that the ship was beautiful, the cabins first rate, everything was clean, and the crew extremely friendly and ...
The Eurodam and the Jewel of the seas are almost identical in size. The Jewel has a more customer friendly central area that can be used to host music and dance events, too. It has a larger outdoor pool with far more sunbeds than the Eurodam. The Eurodam has a more enclosed, covered pool area as if it was designed for overcast, chilly North Sea sailings. The Jewel also has a solarium type warm ...
I swear that cruise lines encourage (or at least allow) employees to slack off, or more likely, weaponize incompetence on the first and last days of the cruise. After a smooth embarkation we were aghast that not only was the maître d’ not available to fix the incorrect dining assignment we had been given, but we were told to stand in two long lines that were both the wrong line. It turns out ...
As we were on our first cruise ever we chose the Niew Amsterdam because it is a mid-size ship. We spent a wonderful week. Embarkment and disembarkment went very smoothly and rapidly as a wheelchair was required for one of us. Easy process. No line!
Once onboard, we were directed to Lido Market for lunch.
PROS:
Cabin, excellent food, very diversified more so very fresh, many specialty ...
