We had 3 choices for this itinerary from Canada to Ft. Lauderdale (inc. Zaandam from Montreal & either Zuiderdam or RCL AOS from QC), but we chose the Zuiderdam because of its sail date that would allow us to spend my wife's birthday with our friends in Quebec City. Typically cruise on Princess but wanted to try this due to itinerary. Hard not to compare Princess against Holland America. On the positive side we like the larger bathroom. Also the staff is great. We went early and explore Quebec City before the cruise. Our hotel-Hotel Le Priori was centrally located and we walked everywhere. Go the the L'Oriyin restaurant which offered organic and local food.

Booked this cruise because of the itinerary. I live in Florida and look forward to seeing the change of seasons. This fall cruise from Quebec to Ft.. This is a great cruise itinerary. I highly recommend it, even though rough seas kept us from visiting Prince Edward Island.
Of course, the staff on the ship are great. Cruise ship staff never cease to amaze me. We like this size ship; not super small, but not huge.

We had never been to Canada. We live in Florida so this longer cruise was perfect, we only had to fly one way. We love to travel on Holland America Lines, so the fact that Zuiderdam was due for an interior face lift did not bother us. We know and love their standards, so could put up with a few chips and rips.

Chose this cruise because it stopped in Canaveral and we could disembark there rather than going to FLL. Other than that, the ports were pretty ordinary - Princess had better ports from Quebec to FLL and would have taken Princess except for the preferred disembarkation at Canaveral. Having wanted to visit Quebec for several years, and living near New York, this itinerary was a natural. We spent one night at a hotel in the old city and the next night on board after embarking - staying alongside the pier until the following day. This gave us almost three days to enjoy Quebec.
