Zuiderdam Boston to Quebec City b2b Quebec City to Boston 8/26/2023-9/92023
My wife and I have over fifty cruises and our favorite cruise lines are, in no particular order, Holland America, Princess and Celebrity. We would not turn down a Royal Caribbean or Carnival if the timing and itinerary were to our liking. We chose the b2b Boston-Quebec-Boston for a two week get away aboard ...
We were getting tired of the continuing ninety degree days here in Virginia so we wanted to go to Canada. HAL surprisingly was one of the few cruise lines still accepting new customers and not sold out. I read that Nieuw Statendam was a relatively new ship which pleased me, but concerned my wife who likes to have a tub in the bathroom. I knew all of the newer ships only provide tubs in the top ...
Booked this cruise because of the itinerary. I live in Florida and look forward to seeing the change of seasons. This fall cruise from Quebec to Ft.. Lauderdale had lots of change of scenery and weather. I was unprepared for the snow that fell in Quebec during October; however, it was light and delightful for this Floridian. From snow to the shores of Florida -- lots of change of ...
This is a great cruise itinerary. I highly recommend it, even though rough seas kept us from visiting Prince Edward Island.
Of course, the staff on the ship are great. Cruise ship staff never cease to amaze me. We like this size ship; not super small, but not huge.
The food was wonderful. I love the big salad bowls in the Lido. We had friendly and attentive staff in the dining room. ...
We had never been to Canada. We live in Florida so this longer cruise was perfect, we only had to fly one way. We love to travel on Holland America Lines, so the fact that Zuiderdam was due for an interior face lift did not bother us. We know and love their standards, so could put up with a few chips and rips.
The Crew was wonderful, always helpful & Roxan in the Ocean Bar is the Best Waiter on ...
Having wanted to visit Quebec for several years, and living near New York, this itinerary was a natural. We spent one night at a hotel in the old city and the next night on board after embarking - staying alongside the pier until the following day. This gave us almost three days to enjoy Quebec.
The ports in Atlantic Canada: Prince Edward Island and Sydney and Halfax, Nova Scotia were ...
Wonderful itinerary- some of the best port visits seen after 7+ cruises.
Boston, Bar Harbor, Charlottetown & Quebec were excellent - the latter two very picturesque.
My criticism of Halifax was too many ships in port on one day - numbers should be restricted. Zuiderdam was berthed in a commercial dock well away from the Pier 21 & adjacent sights.
Zuiderdam really needs a refurbishment- ...
Had a good time on this cruise, we were definitely in the younger group (and we're in our early 60's) so it was sometimes a little slower than we would have liked but on saying that there were no noisy parties etc going on into the night! Had a few things happen that we haven't had before. Missed two ports because of weather, was pretty rough at some points. Power failure on our last night so a ...
We were excited to cruise on the Zuiderdam again, this time for the Canada/New England Cruise. We came in to Quebec a few days early to enjoy the city and wish we had a few more days - Quebec City was delightful and autumn is a great time of the year to explore it.
On the day we left port we got the ship early only to be meet with long lines for the taxi to get in, then long lines and ...
We have been on a couple of Holland America cruises in the past which were charters for The Jazz Cruise and were always a little disappointed in the food and service. But we figured that this was because The Jazz Cruise is a chartered event and they went a bit cheap on these things. We were right. The food, service and ship were excellent. We usually ate in the specialty restaurants and they were ...
