I was reluctant about Holland America because I do get motion sickness so I was concerned about HAL’s smaller ships, as compared to others we have been on. After sailing on the Eurodam two previous times in the past 14 months, we were looking forward to this trip.
Our disappointment was primarily in the fact that the ship’s services have declined significantly. The ship has discontinued its production shows. And the level of talent being hired for the main stage is also declining.

Very clean, well appointed ship.
Dining @Lido and Dining Room was usually top rate. Lots of variety, well presented, variety of options through the cruise.
Staff, without exception, were terrific for the whole cruise - friendly, responsive and efficient.

The price was right and we were traveling with friends who had never been through the Panama Canal. We usually always travel with Holland America and always pleased with travel
Volendam was small and getting from bow to stern difficult since galley is inconveniently located thus creating a safety hazard.
