Chose the new ship based on previous excellent experience with HA on Veendam. Sevice and food (a particularly big concern as wife has extreme allergies) always met or exceeded expectations. Lido Buffet, way above average as each station has an active attendant that will prepare to order and/or place food on your plate. Been on 25 cruise this my 9th on Holland America. This is by far the most boring ever on. No main show, buffet and most bars close at 8pm. They have some music shows but after first time enough. The lido market was like golden corral. Dining room had serious lag between courses and slightly better food. Pay extra restaurants were not worth the money.
