I am incredibly disappointed, frustrated and feel ripped off that I paid full price for a Holland America Cruise, that did not cater to my age group, and had so many port stops cancelled. On top of this, the Shore Excursions advertised by Holland America on the Navigator App, and website were not what was delivered by the Tour Guides and the Greenhouse Spa experience was also very substandard. ...

My experience on the Nieuw Amsterdad was far from what was advertised. I did not find the dining to be top notch. Pinnicle was very overrated. I tried the porkchop and needed a chainsaw to cut it. My wife tried the Hallibut and it was so dry you could use it as an ink blotter. The main dining room was mediocre at best.

After having itineraries to Istanbul changed two years in a row, we had ‘some’ cruise credit expiring. The pacific coast cruise seemed like a remedy & we’ve never been on the Koningsdam.
Perhaps the larger ship just isn’t for us. The crew seemed to be training while this ship sailed which resulted in inefficiency. Particularly popular food items frequently became unavailable.

We've sailed on many HAL ships over the years and have to say we'll never sail again on the Konigsdam. Although the food was excellent, they've cut service to the point that hour waits for dinner were normal. Waiters and staff were obviously stressed and had too many tables to serve. The thing that topped off and overall bad cruise was a bogus charge of $70.21 for the use of our mini bar which we did not use.
