Nice cruising on the Koningsdam

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Koningsdam

Overall we liked this ship. Our interior cabin was smaller than expected but it worked quite fine. The restaurants were good. The main dining room was ok but very hard to get a table for two. The Lido Market was ok but we found it quite repetitive for lunch. The pizza counter was good and so was the hamburgers, hot dogs and fries place. Loved the panoramic lounge. Good place to relax on ...

Had sailed on Koningsdam in 2016 and enjoyed the Baltic and Viking Sagas. Desire was to do Iberian peninsula after our Camino Portuguese walk. Very port intensive but enjoyed. Dining good but we had booked Tamarind and Pinnacle before the cruise and onboard got talked up to dining package which we really should not have done. Canaletto was just ok while Sel de Mer was not explained to us tee $60 ...

This is the largest ship of the fleet. It is too big, Lido restaruant has not enought seats at busy times. You have to line up many times to receive the food of your selection, all separate serving areas, your partner meanwhile is alone reserving your seat?? Night dining in the restarraunt is good with slow service but good food, average time is 1.5 to 2 hours. There are not enough ...

We chose this particular cruise because of the various unique ports. Well, we obviously did not do our homework. Portland was Weymouth, Seville was hours away, as were Pisa and Florence and Rome from the ports. The excursion prices were outrageous. We met people that had paid just under $100 for shore excursions to the port towns that were walking back to the ship as the excursions were mostly ...

The dates of travel, itinerary, ship. We were traveling with two others, so the dates of travel were important. The itinerary was new to us, starting in Amsterdam and ending in Rome, was just perfect. We were able to spend 3 days exploring Amsterdam, and additional 4 days in Rome. With the visit to Portland in England, the 2 stops in Portugal, and 4 stops in Spain, it made a 5 country visit ...

We chose this cruise because it is a new cruise ship and we really loved the itinerary. Overall, we thought the ship was beautiful. Our room was lovely. We liked the layout of the room, with the bed near the balcony. The shower was great, easy entry and strong jets. We really liked all the available outlets in the room, including usb ports. Large drawers under bed and one closet are taken up by ...

We are 4 star mariners on HAL so we wanted to experience the newest ship; this cruise also stopped at some places we had not been, like Gibralter and Sardinia. Food, as usual, was great. Avenues of entertainment (BB King, Bilboard, Lincoln Center, world stage, etc) all had excellent value. The new style of showers is excellent; the overall ambience and décor are stunning. BAD news: ...
