We chose this cruise because we love to cruise to Greece and this cruise offered ports we have not visited. We have been on 40 cruises and do three a year. I embarked on Nieuw Amsterdam on Aug 4th and we set sail at 5pm. Embarkation was very well organised and there was little or no delay. Once on board the Lido was open for lunch. Holland American was truly more than a disappointment. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Service, activities, food, cabin, dining were below average standards. We (two couples) recently completed a 22 a day Mediterranean cruise on the Noordam, Holland America Line (HAL). All of the party have previously had cruises on other cruise lines and as HAL had been recommended for providing 5 star service we gave it a go. Embarkation: Fast and efficient. Cabin was ready and cases arrived quickly.
