Adequate. Ur Not What I’m Used To

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Oosterdam

First the good: I am an avid cruiser, but I had never cruised Holland America before. I had some trepidation because I had heard that it skewed older. Not that I am a spring chicken, but I’m also not 70. At any rate, the cabins were of familiar size and the crew was excellent, although there was some inconsistencies in the bar, especially with the featured drinks, which you would think all ...

I just finished my cruise today so thought to give my honest feedback for the viewers while it’s still fresh . Great experience with lot of food selection.Everyone in cruise ship was nice and always greeted with the smile. Only person who ignored us and at least another party we spoke to was the south Asian bar manager who would pick and choose who he wants to talk to. I think it’s fair to say ...

Phenomenal destination but lackluster ship

This was our first Holland America cruise. REASONS TO PICK THIS CRUISE: * We picked this specific cruise because the itinerary was midweek to midweek rather than weekend to weekend like most Alaska cruises. This meant the ports were less packed. * We also wanted a smaller ship with fewer people. The passenger capacity for the Volendam is only about 1400 people. * This cruise also went ...

Lots of good things but some improvements needed

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Westerdam

We did a cruise with two other couples on the Westerdam round trip out of Seattle to Alaska. Some of the pluses: The ship was in very good shape for its age and didn't generally feel overcrowded. The indoor pool and hot tubs were nice since the weather outside usually wasn't nice. The promenade deck went all the way around the outside of the ship which was great for exercising with ...

My husband and I chose this cruise because we wanted one that left from our hometown, Vancouver, BC Canada. We'd gone to Alaska before with Celebrity and enjoyed that. The ship was beautiful - food in the buffet, the pizza stand and the burger bar was really good. Our package including drinks and one meal at one of the extra payment restaurants. We chose Tamarind and were not ...

We went on this cruise to celebrate my mom and my husbands big mile stone birthdays! There was 6 from Canada and 12 from the US that went to Vancouver for this cruise. I have been on over 12 cruises the past 8 years all with NCL, Royal and Carnival. This will probably be my last with Holland America for a few reasons.. The good- The views on this Alaskan cruise were second to none! Living in ...

Alaska Amazing, Wonderful Excursions, Terrible Food, Worst Guest Services, Understaffed Crew

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Volendam

Our choice of Holland America was based on their reputation, itinerary, park rangers on board, age of passengers and size of ship. Alaska was amazing and the excursions in each port added to our overall enjoyment of Alaska. We wanted to experience a smaller ship with passengers that were seniors. Because it was a June sailing, we expected some children and multi generational families. ...

Holland America will never go again, avid cruiser

Holland America Volendam Ship June 2023. Unfortunately we had problems in almost every area which sadly for us is a first. We are not the complaining type which saddens me to have so many bad experiences on one trip even. I understand the minor hiccup or inconvenience but this trip was a catastrophe from before leaving the dock even to the point of being escorted off the boat under medical ...

This was our first Alaska cruise and first on HAL. We have also sailed on Carnival and NCL. Decided to splurge on a Neptune Suite. Reviews from others were so helpful so thought I would add my experience. Departure was from Vancouver. We arrived a day early and stayed at the Pan Pacific hotel which is attached to Canada Place. Hotel was nice but expensive. Bought the package with meal voucher. ...
