We went on this cruise as part of a charter
The staff was delightful, and our cabin certainly fine, except for the last night when we were flooded by water from overhead
The aspect of this cruise we did not care for was that there were so many extra charges. All alcohol was an extra charge drinking water was an extra charge. The food was lovely in the dining room, but the dining room was ...
Instead of writing a long essay, we’re posting our running notes from our recent two weeks on NS. HAL has been repositioned in the Carnival Corporation stable of brands at a much lower level, similar to Princess, and far below Cunard, whereas it used to be much closer to Cunard in style and refinement. We won’t consider cruising with HAL again at any price. For the record, we had a VB level ...
I traveled on this cruise as a chartered cruise. While most of the crew was friendly, my previous 3 cruises on HAL were much better. Our stateroom was not clean and we rarely saw our stateroom attendant. We are both vegetarians and the choices in the Main Dining Room and specialty restaurants do not often many vegetarian options. In todays world I would think the chefs could be a bit more ...
Chose this ship for the itinerary. Big mistake. Dated in all ways.So lacking in accessible features I can't believe it's ADA compliant. They are carrying wheelchair guests off the ship by hand. In the tiny casino you may earn enough points to qualify for free drinks while playing. But....
Good luck finding a server. Few activities on seadays. You are expected to amuse yourself.
Entertainment ...
Over 25 cruises, several on HAL. We find the HAL product much diminished. Menus downgraded, although the food was better than an October cruise. Same menu every sea day for lunch. Almost every beef dish, including potroast, very tough, even in the Pinnacle. Entertainment was good and bad. Comedians performed in the BBKing's. You had to get there an hour before to get a seat. On our 10 ...
Wanted a dependably pleasant Caribbean cruise and selected Holland American based on prior good experiences and our multi star status. We’ve been sailing HAL for over 50 years.
The ship is newer, but we found a major change in the HAL experience. It has gone to a lower level of service and overall quality with many extra charges for what has been included in the past. For example, if one ...
I should start off by saying this was my 24th cruise so i know what it is like and what we have grown to expect., and we have been on holland american before.
It was a beautiful ship, but our balcony stateroom, our stewarts 1. We had to ask for water glasses, another day 2. We had to ask for wine glasses and the topper for us, 3. we had to call customer service again because we had no ...
This was our fourth Holland America cruise, and HAL had become our favorite line. But we will not set foot on Eurodam again. It is worn and going downhill. In need of a renovation soon. I paid for "Have it All" for our entire family of eleven, and WiFi connectivity was the worst we have ever experienced. That was extremely frustrating. In fact, we couldn't download our photos because ...
In the past 27 years, we’ve spent over 300 days on cruise ships, and this was definitely our worst experience. And that’s including a cruise to Alaska on the Radiance of the Seas when the entire crew had walked out two weeks before… If we had not previously sailed Holland America, there’s no way we ever would again.
We are low maintenance and have always enjoyed friendly relationships with ...
This was our 6th cruise but first on HA. They had to be short-staffed or something. However, if it weren't for good experiences in port, it would have been a pretty miserable vacation. I am not looking forward to cruising again for a long time.
Our first port day we set the card out for breakfast in the room the night before. We've done this on 5 previous cruises and have had no issues. ...
