Itinerary- Africa at the top of my bucket list. Most ports were readily available to walk through. Ship tours ranged in price- from inexpensive to YIKES! Even though I now travel solo, I was comfortable and at ease. Staff on board exceptional- always willing to answer questions, give directions when we got lost or needed more information. Cabin stewards were always going the extra mile to make ...
We choose this cruise due to the ports and sites it covered. We were not disappointed! Although a couple of the ports we wanted to sail to were exchanged, we were not unhappy with the changes. The boarding and disembarkation were perfect. We learnt a lot from excellent conferences. The food and entertainment were par for what we xpected from this great cruise line. Our cabin stewards cabin 2572 ...
Embarkation and Disembarkation ran very smoothly. We had a balcony cabin on the Gershwan Deck (Deck 5) which was very comfortable good size and faciliities were good, Be aware that Water in the cabin is charged out to you based on US$ plus tax. Cabin service was good. The Dining Room and the Buffet Eatery were good however at times seating was difficult. The Italian Restuarant was very ...
I took a cruise on the Koningsdam to the Baltic in September as part of a NYTimes Journey tour group. I did not attend any of the on-board entertainment as our tour group had special meetings while at sea. The conference room HAL provided was very comfortable.
I thought the food in the dining room and lido were excellent. We also ate in the specialty restaurant Tammarind and it too was ...
Loved the Koningsdam. The ship was beautiful, the service wonderful and the food outstanding. Chose this 7 day cruise because of the itinerary and we weren't disappointed.
We had a guaranty outside cabin and couldn't have been happier with the location, deck one, easy on and off at Ports, and one flight up to dining room.
It was a mix of passengers but the majority where either Dutch or ...
First time on Koningsdam after sailings with other HAL ships and also other lines. Destination Norway is awesome, sailing through the fjords is amazing. Also we were lucky with the weather. We had arranged a rentalcar in Alesund since that was a long day. We were there before and now we could drive the amazing road in Trollstigen. Loved it.
Avis gave us a nice upgrade in car.

We had a fairly fast check-in and started boarding the ship at noon from Amsterdam. Our rooms were ready as soon as we boarded. We were very pleased with our balcony room 6151: a good size, comfortable bed, good lighting in the room and bathroom, plenty of storage space. I thought we had a good-sized shower, but my tall husband found it a bit narrow. The shower head was excellent. I was glad ...
A truly great ship with a well trained and managed staff. Food was excellent in all venues.
We booked a 'premium' Neptune cabin. our experience with other cruise lines suggested that there would be some inclusions automatically.
Much to our surprise (and every person we spoke to) we had to purchase internet time at a ridiculous rate and for a service, as it turned out, that was barely ...
Always led by itinerary. Italy, Montenegro, Greek mainland and Islands just perfect end of May. No issues - an excellent voyage. Meals very good with Special diets catered for in Lido and restaurants. Very good hygiene practices in all areas. No self-service - staff served everyone individually so there was no contamination in serving bowls. You still find a person filling their water bottles ...
Family of 3 celebrating our son's college graduation. Stateroom 4143. Our 3rd cruise with HAL, our 26th cruise overall. We chose this cruise for the itinerary of Northern Europe. The first 2 weeks were very fast paced as we were in port almost daily. Our stateroom was comfortable modern and state of the art. It was quiet, cozy, and did not rock and roll although I should mention we had ...
