Good Cruise but could have been great

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Oosterdam

The cruise was chosen as a good value option with interesting ports. It delivered in some areas, not so good in others. The brilliant - 1 service was faultless both in dining and staterooms 2 the stateroom was roomy, clean and light 3 embarkation & disembarkation left Celebrity for dead The average - 1 the entertainment ranged from very good to don't bother 2 the choice of ...

The Worst Cruise Line Ever

Review for a Europe - All Cruise on Oosterdam

The only reason I'm giving it a 2 instead of a negative 200 is because there were some positives 1. The ship was docked for long periods of time and there were only 2 sea days which was great because the actual cruise line is so horrible it was nice to really enjoy being off the ship and in beautiful locations. 2. Some of the staff members were great 2 to be exact and although this is a ...

The air conditioning in rooms 1124 and 1126 does not work properly. After number complaints it could not be fixed. I did get 400 credit for each room. But I would have preferred more since it was so hot during our trip. Be warned. The dining was really good. Enjoyed all the food from various differnt venues. The excursions wer over priced. Definitely get those on your own if you can. The ...

Very Disappointed

My concept of a Mediterranean cruise is Barcelona to Venice. We've sailed with Celebrity, Princess and Azamara and based on everything I knew I was fully expecting Holland America to meet or exceed our past experiences. It was not to be. The ports of call and HAL's shore excursions we all wonderful. But the ship design (pools and atrium), and more importantly the food and service fell very ...

Is an active sea cruise possible?

Very informative active cruise with many Ports & Cities to visit. Could have spent a little longer in some places than others but overall it gave you the opportunity to sample a variety of lands & customs. The cruise itself was very smooth , cabin 495 comfy and fairly quiet. Entertainment was good without being outstanding apart from a couple of standout acts. Overall a very enjoyable cruise ...

Wonderful Cruise, Quality Cabin

We chose this cruise because it was going to the places we wanted to visit. We had traveled with Holland America in Alaska and really enjoyed it so, although the Eurodam is quite a big ship, we thought we would enjoy sailing with HAL again. Then we discovered a terrible review of HAL from a traveler who had stayed in the very cabin we had booked, 7038. I have to say it made me extremely anxious ...

My husband and I had never traveled to the Mediterranean. This trip had been on our bucket list for years. We are so thankful to have had this amazing experience. Our main reason for cruising is to give us an opportunity have a taste of many ports, unpacking only once. We look for a clean ship, with good food and friendly service. Holland America delivers on all points. Our balcony room on deck ...

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary. Our previous cruises have been on Celebrity, Princess, Royal Caribbean, and Carnival. The itinerary was wonderful and the ports were very interesting. My 2 star rating is due to the following reasons. 1. The ship needs serious updating. Everything seems dark and dull. 2. The internet system is ridiculous. Only one person in the cabin can ...

Perfect Way to Spend 12 Days

Great way to show elderly parents some of Europes highlights in comfort and without the hassles of overland transport and accommodation and introduce them to cruising, Cruise itself was great, ports visited from Barcelona to Venice gave a good snapshot of Italy and organised tour in Florence was very good. However, whilst it was nice to see Rome briefly, traffic meant that spent more time ...

The Cruise of Our Dreams

I chose Holland America because of the time of year and the itinerary. For the trip of a life time, my husband and I wanted to go to certain countries and cities. Holland America's Eurodam ship offered the 12-day Mediterranean Tapestry voyage and we selected to also purchase our airline tickets and pre embarkation hotel stay in Barcelona with the cruise company. All went well. For two nights ...
