10-Day Mediterranean Cruise!

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Westerdam

We booked this cruise because we received a great deal on the price and we liked the ports listed. The cruise started in Rome and ended in Venice with an overnight. I originally booked a Balcony Guarantee cabin, but approximately three before the cruise, I received an email from HAL offering an upgrade to a Signature Suite at a reduced price. I took the upgrade and was assigned 6070. The cabin ...

Chose this cruise because we had never been to Spain and we like the Holland cruises. Two sea days and 10 ports. Stayed 2 days in Ramblas district of Barcelona before our cruise and loved the city! Didn't book any of the Holland cruises because they were too expensive so made arrangements for tours before we left home. Dining room service was impeccable and most of the dinners were ...

Lovely First Mediterranean Cruise

I wanted to experience ports in the Mediterranean and this cruise offered the ones I wanted to see. The ship after being updated is very nice. My cabin was a guarantee balcony 5120 that was very nice. It was midship which turned out to be great when we had a very rough sea day. Holland America diverted the cruise from Calvi to Ajaccio due to the fact that using tenders would have been ...

More than I was expecting

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Eurodam

Was looking for a crossing where we could play bridge, and see some Spanish ports. The Eurodam was very nice. We had stopped going on HAL for several years because of mediocre food and numbers passengers with walkers. We found the food to be excellent, except for the alternate restaurants. The Asian one was very good, but the ultra gourmet restaurant, De Librije, was a joke! Presentation was ...

Part of our deal was a two night stay in Barcelona which was a great start, embarkation was good and quite rapid.Balcony cabin was as expected with kingsize bed, large TV with plenty of films etc.The bathroom including tub was OK,goid hair products and dressing gowns.Good storage for all our clothes. Dining in the Lido restaurant was good and the only drawback for us was you are unable to serve ...

We had always wanted to go on a Mediterranean Cruise but never thought we could afford it. Last Spring we found a great deal for the 12-day Oosterdam cruise so we took advantage of it. We stayed in Barcelona for a few days before the cruise and staye din Rome for two days after the cruise. The cruise line handled the transfers with ease. Overall we were very pleased with Holland America. We ...

Great Itinerary, and Shipboard Experience

We chose this cruise for the itinerary. In a week you get a good taste of Southern Spain and Gibraltar. There is so much history, art and architecture that one week is not enough to explore in depth, but you can get the highlights. The timing fitted our vacation perfectly. We enjoyed the food in the main dining room and had an especially tasty meal in the Pinnacle Grill. Service everywhere on ...

Time of year and Itinerary. We stayed in Barcelona 2 nights prior. Had a chance to enjoy this delightful city, and no jet lag for the cruise! Favorites were Monaco, Dubrovnik and Kotor because they were so unique. Did several Cruise Critic excursions and they were awesome! Tour guides in Civitevecchia, and Livorno were great! Holland is very nice and predictably old school cruising. The ...

Sept 4 oosterdam 12 nights VD 7097 Bucket list: Barcelona and Rome with a Sept 4 2016 cruise in the middle. This was perfect. We saw lots of places that would have been difficult to get to on our own. We took the initiative and booked our own tours, or just ventured out on our own whenever possible. Cruise Critic was great for helping to organize others to go with us. This was fun ...
