Completed last week a 39 day south Pacific cruise and I am a 3 star mariner.
If you like Pasta, pork and chicken this was the cruise for you.
There were not enough activities on the sea days. lectures were sparse, entertainment was spotty and port talks were very weak. Popcorn for the daily sea days. in the auditorium. was stale and consisted of about one cupful.
The first week if you had ...
I booked the cruise with Holland America directly. I asked for 2 full view balcony room next to each other. The sale girl gave me room 7001 and 7003. I paid the price for the full view balcony room. After we got on the ship, we found that both room are obstructed, the view are full blocked by the captain bridge on 8th floor. We asked to change rooms. They do not have suitable rooms for us, so we ...
We are in our early 70's and have wanted to go on around Australia sailing for some time. Due to Covid we had to push our sail date back a year to the Noordam from the Oosterdam. We have been sailing on mostly HAL and Princess since the mid 80's. Its been nearly 3 months since our cruise ended and I was hoping I would feel better about the experience vs. how I felt at the cruise end in mid ...
This was a 51 day cruise and has been terrible with rubbish entertainment and now on the New Zealand part we have repeated entertainment, even the trivia has the same questions! Don’t waste your money!! A penny pinching cruise line with many cancelled ports. BB kings perform the same songs nightly which gets very boring after a while. The food in the restaurants is very basic with an option to pay ...
What was meant to be a holiday of a lifetime was spoilt by choosing Holland America as our cruise line. We were on a 15 night cruise starting from Sydney on February 26th. Although this ship was refurb the only changes to the cabins was the television on the wall. The bathrooms are very tired and our friends whose cabin was next door had the enamel peeling off the bath.
On return from our ...
We chose this cruise because we had heard good things about Holland America and it was going to places we wanted to visit. We have been on many cruises before always using Cunard, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean in the past without criticism. However, from the moment we boarded we were disappointed. The ship looked very tired. Our stateroom had a balcony and we had paid a lot of money for it. ...
The itinerary was good. A place we had never been before and very much wanted to see. We Hadn't been with HAL before but will never go with them again. Extortionate drinks prices, happy hour lasted 15 minutes in BB kings. Entertainment rubbish other than BBkings. Food luke warm, not much choice for vegetarians, lots of pasta and pizza and salad. They were proud of the fact they would make you some ...
We chose this cruise on the basis of previous happy cruises with HAL, a total of some eighty (80) days on Volendam x 2 , Westerdam and Konigsdam. The service, entertainment, and especially the food on those cruises were pivotal factors in selecting Noordam. We are bitterly disappointed in the Noordam cruise and it’s invisible on board management. I shall be writing to HAL CEO, Stein Kruse seeking ...
This was a Dave Koz Charter Cruz! Ship was contaminated with a flu bug. Hundreds of passengers on Week 1 and Week 2 got seriously ill with a flu bug (Cough, sore throat, chills, fever and loss of appetite - lasted for over 4 days).
The ship was very old and when we hit rough waters it showed. Many people were sick and also got sick in the main dining hall. Germs were spreading ...
Overall Rating - Pacific Isles, Tasman & Bass Srts 1/5
We have completed over 50 cruises including World cruises on Cunard, Celebrity, Princess et al, with another booked in April on Celebrity Solstice. This cruise on the Noordam has been our worst ever, never to be repeated. I do not enjoy writing a bad review, but this needed to be said, honestly and fairly as it happened.
Here is ...
