First large ship cruise. It was better than expected. Very organized as to getting on and off ship. Went into Fairbanks a day early so we could see sights on own. Enjoyed the Fountainhead Car Museum, caught MAC local bus, and the University of Alaska free shuttle from car museum, along with walking along the Chena River in morning. Westmar k Hotel was nice. Bus to Denali, stayed McKinley ...
t had been nine years since we sailed HAL,and twenty since sailing the Inside Passge on HAL. There add-on land tour of Denali National Park, and sailing from Anchorage sealed the deal.
In the dining room, we noticed a drop in the choice of meal selections. More average than top end, but the food was very good and the table service was excellent, after a blip on day 1.
Having taken the ...
We just wanted a short get away and this suited us fine. We always like Alaska and for the most part enjoyed the ship.
We found the food not all that good and did not really like the entertainment but everything else was fine.
We found that in the evening there just was not that much going on, if you did not like BBKing there was not a lot else. I really do not like the TWO pianos but ...
His was our fifth Cruise. We have been on large ships. Eurodam was the best. The food was incredible and the size of the ship made it relaxing and it wasn't crazy with a bunch of drinking or too many little children running around. We had 10 people in our group ranging from age 24 to 81. I highly recommend the Eurodam. Of all the cruises I've been on they had the highest quality of food. What a ...
We've been on 30-plus cruises and this one was wonderful. We were very fortunate to have perfect weather at ALL the ports. Glacier Bay was the clearest we have ever seen it ... you could see sites we've never seen before. Absolutely gorgeous.
In Skagway, we rented a jeep and drove up to the Yukon. Wonderful drive with many picturesque stops! Much better than I an anticipated. We drove ...
I really enjoyed the musical entertainment on board; also enjoyed cooking classes, lectures, library, swimming pools and hot tubs. The food was pretty good especially the dining room where you dress up to go to dinner. The lido deck diner was convenient but often the food was cold so it was only good for a sandwhich, cold cereal, or dessert. I found the staff to be very friendly and personable; ...
Waited over 3 hours to get on ship because of US customs. Waited 45 mins to get off ship at first port of call and everyone was late for their trips. Queued to get back on ship. This was our first cruise and probably our last. Trip to travel on river from Haines was rubbish , mainly because tide was out!!! The trip said , River teaming with salmon so we could see bears, eagles wolves etc ...
Dining - Lido is standard buffet style, always good, sometimes great. Loved the fact that they handle most of the food for you.
Embarkation - Very easy, we were in our room within 30 minutes of starting the process.
Music - the piano players were pretty good, it was always packed when we were down there. BB King club was a little past my bedtime, so we ended up walking by it on the way to ...
I choose HAL after reading many reviews on all cruise lines sailing to my location. Embarkation & disembarkation was smooth. The ship/cabin was updated clean & comfortable. The activities were appropriate for older adults I especially liked the educational talks Glenn Michaels was awesome. The entertainment was nice B.B. King Allstars, billboard onboard, Lincoln center stage. The staff was very ...
This was our first cruise and we loved it! From the perfect flight into Vancouver with great views and a beautiful airport to an easy flight home with more great views from the air including northern lights, it was all amazing!
We got into Vancouver a day early and absolutely loved the Pan Pacific Hotel which is literally part of the cruise terminal! This allowed us an opportunity to see one ...
