Koningsdam 18-night Hawaiian Cruise

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Koningsdam

We were in a mid-ship Neptune Suite across from the Neptune Lounge. We are both in our mid-to-late 70’s and are 4-star Mariners with Holland American. This was our 8th HAL cruise, all of which have been in Neptune Suites. We left San Diego on January 27, 2024 for an 18-day round-trip cruise to Hawaii. If this had been our very first cruise, I might have rated this a bit higher. But when ...

Wished It Was Better

We were very disappointed in serveral areas while on the ship. 1. The entertainment in the Hollywood theartre, with the exception of the magician and the Hawaiian opening, was not good. The comedian was very disappointing and vulgar. 2. The chairs in the Hollywood theatre were worn out and very uncomfortable. You slid off them as you were watching the performance. 3. Cost of ...

Floating hotel with bad food - don't plan on Kona!

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Pride of America

The nice thing about Pride is you see three islands - it is a floating hotel. The bad news is the food was terrible, the staff mediocre. We had some specialty dining in Cagneys and Moderno. Those were both good, but the food on the buffet was terrible. The night they had prime three of four in our party ordered it and not one person could eat it. I've had beef jerk more tender. ...

Not so great cruise

We have been on this very same cruise in the past. This time the food was awful, employees were mostly sullen, and often just plain rude. Food was always cold, either over or under cooked, and had very little taste. The buffet and Skyline restaurant food was a disaster. East meets west had great flavor, but was served cold and with an attitude. In the buffet dining area, it appeared to be the ...

OK, but not great

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Island Princess

We chose the Half World cruise as a way to escape winter and to get to the Arab countries where we wanted to tour. Cruising is always pleasant and so my rating is relative to other cruises we've done. Generally the food was ok (what you might expect at Denny's) and the ride not to bad (for us) even when the seas were rough. But nothing was impressive and the entertainment was VERY lame. You can ...

Not my favorite cruise

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Koningsdam

This was our 69th cruise but only second on Holland America. The ship was nice but not as elegant or as well laid out as Celebrity Solstice and Edge class ships - which we love. We picked this cruise for the itinerary and the time of the year it was sailing. Our most enjoyable meal was in the Pinnacle which we ate at twice. The service in there was top notch too. The dining room food was ...

Super cruise

This was a fabulous cruise. The ship was clean, comfortable and most importantly the food was outstanding! The staff were all helpful and friendly and no matter how stressed they were happy ( and sometimes singing)! It was about 5 days out and 5 days back strictly at sea. We found it relaxing but not seeing land or another ship that entire time could be somewhat daunting. The life boats were state ...

Another great voyage on Seabourn, but….

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Seabourn Sojourn

We joined the Sojourn in LA and disembarked in Taipei at the end of the second segment of the World Cruise 72 days later. Our last trip on the Sojourn had been the last two segments of the 2023 World Cruise from the Seychelles to Barcelona, and we now have about 200 days with Seabourn. We rated the 2023 voyage overall a 9.5/10. This years we would rate an 8.5+ to 9/10, still excellent. Why lower? ...

No longer sails past Na'Pali coast.

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Pride of America

This cruise did not and does not sail past the Na'Pali coast. NCL does not make this widely known and most of their agents will tell you it still does. You are in port in Kauai until 5:30 pm. This was the only major disappointment, except for the NCL app, which was useless. I don't recommend even trying to use this, as you will most likely incur extra internet charges unless you are an IT ...

Stay away from Carnival Miracle!!

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Carnival Miracle

User Avatar

I have been cruising with Carnival for the last 15 years and had good experiences with them up until 2024. We did the 15 day Hawaii cruise and were highly disappointed. Food and Service on the Carnival Miracle was subpar at best and the ship had many things out of service like ice makers throughout the ships drink stations. We noticed that there was far less crew in the MDR and at the bars. ...
