I have been on 4 other cruises with all but one being on RCCL. I normally don't do reviews for my trips that due to all the negativity about the ship I thought it be necessary to give what I feel is a fair and realistic review of the ship and my experience. I have not cruise for over 10 years so my experiences and interpretations of various things maynot be accurate. Please understand that my review is from the perspective of a traveler who has normal expectations or a vacation. This review will be from the point of view of an every day individual who may only have been on a few cruises and it's not a lifetime cruiser. In regards to services area are I observations. In regards to General service and expectations for a cruise ship I found that the crew themselves seem to be friendly and more than happy to fulfill any needs that you have. But if you expect someone to come up every five minutes and offer you a drink or something that isn't going to happen and I believe is too much to expect on a ship of this size. The crew also seem to be generally happy and willing to help as compared to my previous three cruises with Royal Caribbean. I will agree that the quality of the food service is not as impressive as when I originally started cursing. This may be from simply that I am getting used to their food and it no longer got the wow factor.don't interpret that as saying that their food is horrible or is not enjoyable. I do have a couple of things I'd like to bring to attention those who may be disabled in regards to the ship. One exiting the gangway to go we sure can be difficult with the scooter as there is a gap between the gangway plank and the entry to the ship going to and from the shop I wish they could do something about that. The second thing is that if you are in a wheelchair or scooter you will have to wait longer for the elevator I will also very is that the variety a free beverages has changed. It is hey surprised that soda tea and most coffees were not provided free of charge as I've experienced in my past cruises. By no means is did it have a dramatic impact on my vacation. I did attend to specialty restaurants 154 Central Park and Wonderland. 154 Central Park was a more enjoyable experience only because it's food choices peeled on my palate. Wonderland on the other hand is a great experience though in regards to food choices it is more geared to those who like seafood . In regards to the cabin set up let me tell you that I am disabled so this review is it in respect to the handicapped accessible room which is significantly bigger than your traditional cabin cabin. I was very impressed with the way out of the room and the amount of space it allowed me especially in the bathroom which had a nice roll in shower. The betting was comfortable are cabin attendant did an excellent job. And that my expectations. The only negative I have about my cabinet is the fact that the entry door did not have a pushbutton entry on it which would be helpful for those in a wheelchair and scooter. Also as I traveled the hallways with the state rooms were at the metal separators between parts of the ship did become a bit of a hazard and more difficult to manuver and got in the way. I will have to say that harmony of the seas is not my first choice of ship only because I am an individual who doesn't like crowds but in regards to the level of traffic it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I don't know if this is because it was in the fall and instead of in the summertime when it will be more crowded and have more kids. I will see if you're in a wheelchair or scooter you will have to wait longer for a available elevator because of so many people on the ship it is difficult to get an elevator that has enough room for you to use your wheelchair and scooter. At times my friends and I had to wait as much as 10 minutes for an elevator. It would be great if royal Caribbean would designate couple of elevators for the elderly and those with disabilities and make them only Accessible by use of your seat see pass card. Read Less

We have chosen the Harmony because she is brandnew and huge......That was a mistake! We never had the impression to be on a ship but more in a big shopping mall and on deck Disneyland! The whole ,of my life, I have been working at sea and I have never seen a vessel where the lifejackets are NOT in the cabin. My stateroom was on deck 12 and in case of emergency I should go to deck 5 (Royal Theatre) were the lifejackets would be distributed.....Afterwards, someone of the crew would bring us to the lifeboats....To my opinion, that is absurd! In case of listing ship or smoke inside (or fire in the Royal Theatre!!) .....what would be the result? The messages in german or French, on the general call, were terribly bad....On a ship with 6000 guests, yhe least thing you can expect is someone with enough knowledge of this languages.....especially in european waters! Sometimes, very long waiting times at the elevators and the same problem as on other vessels : not enough room in the Windjammer Restaurant. In the room, the safety box is so small that it even can not take a decent camera lens or a laptop. The good things of the vessel : very good food (how do they do it with so many people on board ?), comfortable beds and quiet a big shower.....The shows on board were very nice as well. Read Less

There were 8 of us (4 couples) and having booked 18 months ago, the excitement level was at an all time high by the time we boarded at Civitavecchia. First impressions were that the ship was totally amazing, and was overflowing with WOW factors. The boarding process at Civitavecchia was a piece of cake, although there were far fewer boarding here than at Barcelona. We headed for lunch in the Windjammer, which was as good as we expected it to be for a large buffet restaurant. (Next day had the beef sandwich at Central Park cafe and ...... superb). Cabins were great and the cabin attendant opened the dividers giving us a 4 cabin long balcony. My case went under the bed, with some clothes in it, although we had enough wardrobe space. Now to the good points ( and there were many): Every member of staff that we came into contact with was friendly, polite and helpful. Cabin attendant (Tanoe) had a permanent smile and helped by decorating the cabin for one of our party's birthday. Our table staff in Silk (Rigor & Olena) were a credit to RCI and did everything they could to make our evening meals enjoyable. I would choose them again in an instant. Bar staff were also friendly and efficient. The food was very good, Prime rib and Filet Mignon being especially good. Loved the Water slides, Abyss, and zip line. Escape the Rubicon was great fun but not easy and we ran out of time on the last section. The shows were all good, especially the 1887 Ice Show. Having done most of the ports before we stayed on board most of the time so there was no feeling of being overcrowded. But even on the sea day it was never too busy. Not so good things. Royal IQ was a little disappointing as there were quite a few places where there wasn't a signal. The idea of royal IQ is a good one but it should work everywhere. Crown and Anchor promised me OBC for each new (1st time) booking that I introduced. I introduced 3 new bookings but the OBC never materialised. When I checked with Customer Relations the answer was that the offer couldn't be in addition to any other offer. Given that there is always some other "offer" happening, then that means I'd never get it. I reckon I kept my side of the bargain and RCI should have kept their side. All in all a totally enjoyable cruise, and would we do it again .............Yes. Read Less

This is my 4th Cruise vacation. Definitely, my worst experience. If this is my 1st experience, certainly I will not cruise again. Bad things: 1. Windjamer is always full. It's frustrating experience. The other options always close when you need it. 2. People everywhere. Busy, very busy. 3: We do not feel a good vibe on board. Unfortunately we are only a part of the workflow. Put your eyes on disney cruise lines. Customers should be delighted, not frustrated. 4. Guest services? Forget it. Always full. 5. If you are not above 14 deck you will never see the sea. I'm feel like a visitor of a big and busy shopping center. You will not have sea view on the deck where is the lifeboats, for example. It seams that all that matter are inside the boat. Really guys? 6. Staff are exhausted. Committed, but exhausted. 7. Unsupportable cigarette smoke near main dinning room. Guess what: Where is the casino? Near the main dinning room... Got brain guys? 8. Dynamic dinning / traditional dinning: Well... full of options for all tastes. It sounds great, wright? The practical result, guess what: hours waiting for the dinner... and when you have your table... the service are under acceptable. 9. So much more... Good things: 1. Entertainments and activities. 2. Fast check in. 3. The day I saw the Disney Magic nearby :) Read Less

I was afraid to cruise because the last cruise I went on I got a bit sea sick (not on R.C). Not this time. Harmony of the Seas is an amazing ship. Granted the ship is new and 2016 is it's inaugural year. The entertainment was excellent as well as the food and overall service. I was very impressed about the overall organization down to hand washing stations. Love, love, loved this cruise. Will definitely choose Royal Caribbean again in a heartbeat. Know I know why people are "loyal to royal." I would also highly recommend using Italy Limousine company for port excursions. They were phenomenal. The cars were roomy, air conditioned and the drivers were highly professional, knowledgable and super friendly. Josephine was my contact person by email and she was incredible. I must have emailed her 20 times and she responded promptly each time. Having a good car service definitely enhanced our vacation. Read Less

The ship is grand but biggest is not always the best! It was just a little over crowded and the dining experience was one of my least favorite of all cruises to include other Royal Caribbean cruises. Service was slower than previous cruises and ordering a drink in the main dining hall just took unusally long. We ate in the main dining room 2 nights and then chose to eat buffet style in the Windjammer Restaurant. We had pre-booked shows, I guess due to the number of passengers, and had our times rescheduled to later ones. Consequently, for the first time cruising, we did not attend the first show! One night we attempted to see a show but there where technical difficulties and the show was cancelled. Our 2nd attempt to see The Fine Line aquatic show was cancelled due to rough seas, unavoidable. We where very pleased with the ports and enjoyed each stop. I must say the cabin was very accomodating and appeared to be larger than our previous RCL cruises. The intineary was great but I will not cruise on the largest cruise ship in the future! Read Less
