To first-time and occasional cruisers, this would likely have been a five-star experience ... but those of us who've been with Royal for a while (as in the maiden voyage of Grandeur, now the oldest ship in the fleet), the differences become more notable with each trip. Our last cruise out of Galveston was on the Allure in late '22, so we have a comparison.
The most significant cutback is the ...
This was my 9th cruise. All my cruises have been on either RCCL or Carnival except one cruise on Disney. We started out cruising on RCCL on Grandeur's inaugural sailing year. We've always put RCCL above Carnival overall and deemed those cruises better than the Carnival ones. Prior to covid the last cruise we took was on Carnival as it was chosen for us because we were travelling with a group. ...
Before we even boarded we had a horrible experience with our cruise booking thru RC. I had started my booking for a 1 BR Grand Suite. When I went to pick the suite # the website offer me a guarantee to get the 1BR Grand or higher; however, when we actually received our suite # it was a Jr. Suite. I complained to Royal Caribbean through email, C&A, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and a couple of ...
We've cruised with RC three times. Our last cruise was on the beautiful Harmony of the Seas. Our balcony was nice, peaceful. The entertainment was not as good or interesting as our last two cruises. My immediate response was that we were going to starve to death on this cruise because there wasn't much to choose from. Had to pay extra for most restaurants. The common areas of the ship were ...
This is our family's 8th or 9th cruise, but our first with Royal. We booked this holiday cruise for the whole family to attend. The ship is beautiful and in great condition. I do feel that for the size of the ship, they need to work on time management of their activities. There was a family archery event that only 2 people could participate in at a time. They allowed 45 minutes the event with a ...
This was our tenth cruise overall, third with Royal Caribbean. We were on Allure about ten years ago so we decided to try Harmony for Thanksgiving. I think that after this cruise, we're done with cruising for now and will move on to other forms of vacation to get a better value.
Background: Married couple in our 40s with a 12 year old and an 8 year old. Both kids are experienced cruisers too. ...
My husband and I have cruised for more than 20 years so we can easily compare pre and post Covid cruising. What follows is our attempt to describe the good and bad experiences of our recent cruise on Harmony of the Seas.
We were very pleased with the efficient embarkation procedure! We were aboard the ship so quickly we were honestly surprised!!! We immediately went up to Windjammer to get ...
We sailed on Harmony last year at the same time. This year, we noticed significant downgrades in the quality of food, shows, and cleanliness. The buffet food was disgusting, not to mention that they served chicken every day. They no longer had a roast beef or seafood night. Dry chicken and pork every day, but cooked with different spices. They no longer had a decent gourmet selection of cheeses ...
We chose this ship for all of the amenities it offered. It also has spacious cabins that can sleep 6 at an affordable price. With 4 kids in tow, this seemed like a great option. We were disappointed, however. The room needs more drawers and storage for those who use all 6 beds. My husband was unable to unpack his suitcase as there wasn’t enough room. The bathroom and shower had mold in various ...
We were taking 17 people for my sons wedding ages ranging from 2-18 with the kids and adults from 37-65. We thought this would be a good choice given all the things the kids could do.
The food had a lot of opportunities, either the hot choices were cold or the cold choices were warm. The main dining choices were not particularly good, food was our number one disappointment!
The service in ...
