My husband and I booked this cruise while on the Anthem of the Seas. I love new ships!! However, I have concluded that, although size doesn't matter to me, the number of people does matter. We were told that there were 6,500 passengers and 3,000 crew members. Although the HOS is a beautiful, large ship, it seemed to me that the venues are rather small, especially for the number of passengers. ...
I chose this cruise because it was my 50th Birthday. My wife had preordered champagne, strawberries and a cake. Only the starwberries arrived and not when requested. We had sailed Liberty of the Seas and Allure of the Seas prior and we were treated like royalty. This ship is only a year old and you can definitely tell by the service. With the exception of a few people none of the staff was very ...
6000 guests are just too much. The crew did a fantastic job with the service (with one exception). Our stateroom attendant Alan was great ... extra helpful. Dining in the Main Dining room Silks (5th level) was very good, food exceptional and the service was great from our Head Waiter Yigit, Waitress Daryna and her assitant Osman. Ask for Yigit if you are using Silk 5. Windjammer is a ...
Between my husband and I, we have 7 Royal Caribbean cruises. I had reached Platinum Crown & Anchor status before this cruise but I don't think I'll be going up the Crown & Anchor ranks any further after this trip. First, the pros:
Embarkation/disembarkation: this was the smoothest yet out of all of our sailings. We got on the ship no problem, we got off the ship even quicker. My recommendation ...
Been on the Allure twice and loved it so thought the Harmony would be better. However it was a little underwhelming. It was not bad by any means, just not as good as I expected it to be. It was very similar to the Allure in layout so getting around wasn't too difficult and it didn't seem to be as huge as I first thought the Allure was. As usual, they nailed check in and disembarkation. You ...
This ship holds over 5000 passengers and currently considered the largest cruise ship in the world. With the large mass of passengers comes many logistical challenges. Although getting on and off the ship from ports weren't as bad as I originally thought, getting in and out of certain venues such as the theatre, dining rooms and elevators were crowded because of limited access. If you're ...
This has been our 20+ cruise with Royal and our second on an Oasis class ship. Our experience on the Allure of the Seas was positive, not so much on Harmony. The ship is beautiful, clean and for the most part you wouldn't know that there were 6000 passengers on board. Embarking and debarking were a snap. Royal has that one under control. The entertainment on board was basically below average. ...
We love sailing w/ RC - been on more than 17 cruises w/ most on RC. Here's what we didn't like:
1. The presentation of GREASE, the musical was vulgar. Tons of pelvic thrusting, simulated masturbation w/ a microphone stand, groping & sexual nuances. The artistic director should be fired. It is NOT a family-friendly performance.
2. Room service now charges $8 for anything, most things now ...
We selected Harmony of the Seas so we could experience the biggest cruise ship in the world with our kids. The ship is very nice. The food is really what you expect on a cruise ship. There is lots of it. Quality varies, but when something isn't right the employees working in the restaurants always offer to help, so that is very nice.
Our Stateroom Attendant was Outstanding, Corazon ...
Friends going on cruise asked us to go. Will not do again, going back to Celebrity. 1) Going to Labadee was misleading. Excursion stated walking tour on Haitian village, was no such thing. Was a walking tour of Royal Caribbean built structures and had no Haitian history impact. 2) The shows were good except for comedy which I considered very vulgar. 3) The veteran get together was greatly ...
