The Negative: *If you like amusement park crowds and lines this is the cruise for you. *Don't try to use any of the pools on sea days. *The buffet food is on par with Hometown Buffet quality. Get in the cattle line. *The main dining is equivalent to the food that you get at any large conference. *Crappy internet is way over priced and a lot of buffering. ($200+ for 2 devices) *Add on charges can add up quick. We had an additional $1,700. (bottled water, a few smoothies, 3 night fine dinning package, 1 excursion and tips) *Don't book through Air and Sea--we were told that you left the ship 11:00am-12:00 pm on departure day. Two flights home that day--1:05 pm and one at 7:51pm. Did not pay attention to this, until we found out that last departure off ship is 9:30 am, during cruise. Meaning we would be spending over 10 hours in the airport. When attempting to change our flight to earlier, were told that it would be $324.00 a person--we had 4 people! We changed through our airline for $300.00 total. Don't you think the booking agent should have known this and saved us the time and trouble and money! The Positive: *The entertainment was good. *Lots of activities for teens. *The ship is kept very clean. *Service from the stateroom attendant and wait staff was very good. Read Less

I chose this cruise because it looked very entertaining and packed with a lot to do. Unfortunately things were all sold out so we didn’t get to experience any of the excursions. The private beach in Haiti was packed with rocks seaweed and urchins so we didn’t really get to enjoy the beach. Speaking of beach there was a $7 charge per person including kids for. Water taxi to transport us to the beach in St.Maarten.Ideally it sounds cheap but if you didn’t calculate that into your spending money it can become pricey. The dining staff was amazing, however being someone with an onion allergy I couldn’t enjoy the food since virtually everything(hotdog, hamburger,BBQ sauce etc) all had onions in it.The boat was very beautiful and clean for the most part however I was very disturbed to find an open condom in a common are where kids venture(Studio B).Aside from the neighbor kids sounding like they were coming through the wall I found it very hard to sleep on the two beds that were pushed together to make a king bed. If your the type of person who toss and turn in their sleep I can assure you that the dip in between the two beds will hurt your back. The ship was really crowded so the pools and hot tubs where hard to enjoy,But I did enjoy the flow rider and zip line (when I finally got to do it) . Final word of advise is to please save all of your money for this trip virtually everything cost. Read Less

This was a family & friends cruise. Royal Caribbean was chosen based on my long time positive cruise experience with it. The ship was chosen since it's a newer ship and in the same class as the Oasis and Allure. Previous cruises on Oasis and Allure were good. Overall the Harmony cruise was good but there were was an issue that required a top level manager's involvement to rectify it. Once he interceded, the issue was resolved. I had a boardwalk room which was nice. The Aqua Theater was visible and the shows could be viewed from the balcony. The elevator situation on this ship was totally unacceptable. There was ALWAYS a wait for an elevator. I never experienced this on any other ship. The wait was long and when the elevators stopped they were always filled and so the wait would continue. It was normal for 3 or 4 elevators to be packed before you could actually squeeze into one. The food was less than desirable. The cruise was good and ship nice. But I really don't think it met the RC standard that I've come to know and enjoy Read Less

Chose the cruise because of all of the activities BUT if you are going to relax forget it! You need reservations for everything shows, skating, aqua theatre, dinner....everything. Show spots are gone and you can’t see the show. Same with ice skating. Not enough reservations available for number of people who want to go. It is the story of this cruise ...there are many features you will never get to use due to crowds. Some food was also less than stellar. Instant mashed potatoes...really? Yuk! And a can of coke $4.15 unless you order it from room service after 6pm. Then it is $4.15 PLUS a service charge of $7.99 so more than $12.00 a can! I felt overcharged on many things on this cruise! Internet was faster than most ships but had to sign on daily with the password they give you. And many times internet would flick off and on. Internet runs about $97 if you book before the cruise and that is only for one device. Service was good on board. Lines for anything that did not require a reservation including elevators. I think I would go back to smaller ships. Royal Caribbean seams to be making many changes and most costing more money to the passenger. But going on a big ship to be able to enjoy the amenities doesn’t work if you can’t provide the services advertised. Bring your credit card is my recommendation because you will really need it! New ship lots of lateral space but too many people. Lordy lordy, it's like an ant colony on the move. Room (Junior suite) smelled like a smoker's convention locker room and very Dusty. Balcony very large and bumped out for a better view. Hallways are a bit too narrow for two people to get by specially when you consider the fact that most cruisers are on the heavier than average size. Embarkation was smooth but getting back to the shop from ports of call were very slow and long. Food was great all around the ship. Service was equally great. The pay restaurants have gotten too expensive for the value. Entertainment was great despite the long lines and the ticket requirements. Central Park area was very relaxing and romantic specially when the live smooth music was being performed (classical guitar was my favorite). Over all it was worth it but I still hate the nasty Stinky room. Read Less

Wanted to try a different cruise line.Nicely decorated and clean stateroom. They do this thing that requires you to put your door key in the light switch. If you remove it all the lights cut off. Problematic if you leave and someone is in the restroom. Our Housekeeper Winston was awesome and a genuine pleasure to see each day. Those folks work hard. My three biggest issues are first, I could not understand most of the staff. They are from the Philippines or India primarily with extremely heavy accents. Very pleasant but English was not their second or third language. I gave up asking questions or attempting to have any conversation with staff after saying," what?" a lot. Secondly, there is always an upsale. It never stops. It became annoying. Jewelry, dinning, etc... lastly, the Main dinning room food quality is non existent and served under temperature. Upscale menus but poor quality. The experience for me lacks a polish and management oversight. They try hard but miss the mark. Also the language barrier made it difficult to do anything other than point and order. Don't ask any questions, you will not understand the response. The musicians and other talent were great. Saw just about every show or act. Enjoyed them all. I will stick with Disney Cruise lines for now on. The Harmony is amazing but crowded. By the time I was done with the bev packages, tipping, internet options for the teens I was hoping to avoid etc... I could have gone Disney. Read Less

THis ship is amazing! Beautiful, clean, and the staff is wonderful! Entertainment is top quality. There are just too many people packed onto this boat! I feel RCCL has tried to put too many people for more revenue and taken away common space areas with dining options that cost extra $. I understand their attempt to make more revenue, but it is at the expense of the comfort of the guests. We had to wait on long lines for everything- even eating. There was hardly a space to get in the pool, without being kicked in the head! We got frustrated dealing with crowds everywhere all week. The lines for the slides and flow riders wasted so much time. Some days my kids waited an hour for their turn. We are long time cruisers and it did not use to be this way. It’s all about making money now- the common areas don’t make RCCL money I guess. This may be a little long but I will try my best to make it informative and helpful. We were a small family and friends group, 7 people, ages 18-79. The booking process was extremely frustrating. If you add up all the hours I was on the phone trying to get things booked correctly, choose nearby cabins, book shows/dinners, etc....., it would add up to several days, mostly waiting on hold or getting transfered around! Although I'd booked directly, I finally brought in a travel agent to help (mostly because I wanted to know the moment the dinners and shows opened up for reservations). It didn't help as much as I'd hoped (you don't need a travel agent unless they REALLY, REALLY have some secret or special knowledge or experience!) Also, while RCCL allows you to do this, they must hate when you do because once there is a travel agent on the booking, they really don't want to talk to you at all. I suspect you get much better service when you book directly and don't use a travel agent. We chose this cruise for the ship; I'd been wanting to sail on the Harmony (or at least one of the Oasis class ships) almost since they came out, especially for the atrium balcony cabins (overlooking Central Park or the Boardwalk). 2 of our group had Central Park balcony cabins and the younger group chose an oceanview balcony. Both were pretty standard cabins and we enjoyed both views. There was a little bit more noise during the day in the Central Park cabins than we expected (and this would be maybe even more true of the Boardwalk view cabins) because both are open at the top so you do get some of the sounds from the pool deck (music starts pretty early). Because they're open, you can also still step out on your balcony and get an idea of the weather before you leave your cabin. We'd book these cabins again. The staff is obviously trained first for professionalism and secondarily for fun so they are all very good and friendly but if you enjoy the playful, fun room stewards and waiters that you might have experienced on other cruise lines, it may be hit or miss on this one. My mom and sister had a great room steward. Our other two cabins were serviced by someone whom we rarely saw and so it was a little disappointing but for the most part, our cabins were adequately serviced. The same is true in the restaurants. One of the specialty restaurants and one of our main dining nights, the waiters were sort of just going through the motions but the other nights, it was good. Don't expect them to make a big deal of your celebration though. We told every restaurant that this was a celebration cruise and specifically told two of them that we'd like to do something special for our celebrant (High School graduation) but we never got anything. The best you can expect is the waiters singing "Happy Birthday" but we weren't celebrating any birthdays. The worst source of frustration onboard was the shore excursions! They do not have an adequate number of the most popular excursions so if you have something particular you want to do, do NOT wait until you're onboard to book! We got to do almost nothing that we wanted and because it rained in St. Thomas, we didn't even get to do those at all. While they do use third party excursion companies, RCCL needs to take more responsibility when things go wrong. We had one tour take off extremely late, costing us a chunk of the tour and when we got there, the biggest attraction wasn't work (and we waiting in line for 45 minutes to find out!) One St. Thomas excursion was cancelled up front due to the rain but the other forced us on a bus, drove us 30 minutes to a shack in the middle of nowhere with barely any cover where we spent several hours huddled in the few dry spots watching a monsoon like rain! Even the path to the restrooms was not covered so you had to dash through pouring rain to get the the restrooms and then the roof was leaking so the restroom had about 2 inches of water all over the floor (gross!) We also went without lunch that day because they grill was also out in the open so they weren't even making food! Royal Caribbean's standard compensation if anything goes wrong is 10% off. We had to fight tooth and nail for 50% off the first shore excursion and a full refund on the last one (the one that got cancelled was automatically refunded). The food is OK, a few random dishes that we loved but mostly just good, not necessarily great! The best specialty restaurant is Wonderland for sure! You have to do it as it is truly an experience. Izumi Hibachi was also worth paying extra for. I could have skipped Jaime's but my sons like Italian; however, it is RUSTIC Italian, not our style, so be prepared for that as you will not get traditional Italian dishes. Chops Grille was pretty good but our steaks weren't all prepared as we asked and we didn't have time to send them back. I didn't care for the shareable sides and would've just preferred that each person got to get the sides they really wanted (we wasted a lot of food because the waiter brought out two of every side that anyone ordered even if only one or two people wanted it). The Entertainment is enjoyable but it will be very hard to get anyone to help you to plan your daily schedule to make sure your shows, dinners, and whatever else you want to catch at night all coordinate. You absolutely have to book as soon as the reservations open up to have any chance of getting the dinners, shows and other days or times you want for activities! Even then, they will not help; they are just order takers so plan to spend hours on the phone arranging your daily calendar (if you care) because you may get a few days booked and then realize there's no other day to see a show or get the dinner you want and you'll have to start rearranging (I was crying by the end of it all, very difficult!) While I know some people prefer to eat later, as do we, I'd actually suggest booking the earliest dining times that you can so that you can fit in more of the nightly activities. Most of the shows and other entertainment happen starting around 7pm until about 10pm so if you have a dining time of 6pm or later, you will miss some things (again, if you care). So, overall, the best thing about this cruise is the ship itself. It's beautiful and large and has more bars, restaurants, and activities than you'll probably even have time to fit in! Royal Caribbean tries to position themselves right in the middle of the "mid-class" cruise lines so it isn't as fun as Carnival nor is the food as good as Norwegian but it's a good compromise if you don't mind the middle ground. If you are stuck between a couple of itineraries, choose Carnival if fun is most important, Norwegain if food is most important, or Royal Caribbean if the ship itself is most important. Pros: the Ship; the Staff (mostly); the Entertainment Average: the Food; the Cabins; the Shore excursions; embarkation and disembarkation Cons: the booking process for EVERYTHING! Problem handling. Lines. and the disconnect between all the different departments. You will have to kick, scream, cry, yell, make a scene if RCCL or their partners make any mistakes because they are all about the $$$ and really don't like to have to refund any of it. Tips: *Do book absolutely everything ahead of time, including My Time Dining, shows, shore excursions, and specialty restaurants (reservations open up about 90 days out)! *Book at least a year in advance for the best cabins, especially if you are going to have more than one and want them nearby, even farther ahead if you want connecting staterooms. *If you want to do Rising Tide bar, notice the "departure" times. Sadly, you'll have to schedule it just like anything else but it won't be in your daily planner. *Get to the shows no less than 30 minutes ahead to get good seats, more for the "open" seating shows. *Everything at On Air will probably require you to get there about 1 hour prior or require you to stand and watch for the people who are leaving before the activity you want to do (there'll be a mad dash for the tables/chairs as they clear). The room is grossly inadequate in size for many of the things they schedule there! *Get in line on embarkation day for a wrist band. It's worth it if you don't want to carry your key card everywhere. *Disembarkation: night before-decide what you're willing to miss to do your packing or if you want to just carry all your stuff off yourself. The porters will have all bags cleared from in front of the staterooms between 10p-midnight and the activities don't stop until about 2am! Day of... you can wait to get off the ship; they don't really enforce getting off by your station numbers -you can sleep in longer and you won't have to stand in line so long but all the restaurants will be shutting down around 8 or 8:30am so make sure you get any food or drink by then (check the Cruise Compass for exact times). *Transfers are cheaper if arranged separately; we used T/I Tours and were very happy with them. This certainly put a damper on our experience seeing as though we look forward to the meals and are both chefs. We look forward to dining out. The others in our group were disappointed as well. Staff are friendly but can be over the top/borderline intrusive. Need to know when to back off/walk away. The night life was lacking as well. Greater variety needed. Shops on the ship are limited, and rarely change. We always fill out the ship surveys but don't see changes. The vacation is expensive and we hope to see improvements. The ship was awesome, and activities for the young ones had plenty, but the menu and the entertainment, left a lot to be desired. Charging for sauna- rediculous Charging for room service- rediculous It seems that Royal Caribbean was pushing the specialty restaurants. There were a couple of dealers, in the casino, that were rude. We’ve been Royal Caribbean travelers for close to 20 years, and have been on all their big ships. The most impressive one was OASIS OF THE SEAS. Odinarily we book future cruises, but not this time. The Grease , the Jeff Tracktsa , and the late night comedy show we’re the only really good entertainment, and we are used to better. We enjoyed the family cruise. The value for the money spent, was disappointing, sorry!! Read Less

We chose this ship because of its onboard show Grease, the aqua show & other "new" onboard activities that the smaller ships don't have. First, let me say that the service was fantastic! Our room steward was personable & attentive & our main dining waiters were top notch. I thought that the food on this ships Windjammer wasn't as good as on others. The ice skating show wasn't that great & the play Grease had too many F-gestures that really weren't necessary. The aqua show was incredible, the Great Abyss & zip line just okay & I wouldn't plan another cruise just to experience them. I spent more time at guest services for problems from Chops Grille having no history of our reservation, chocolate strawberries that were supposed to be delivered but never were, internet that didn't work, poor information about our Nassau excursion so we missed it etc. Closing comments. Harmony is a beautiful, impressive ship but I thought RC Navigator of the Seas and Liberty of the Seas entertainment was way better including ice shows. I didn't think the price difference between being on the bigger ship was worth it. I never felt crowded as some have stated but feel that bigger doesn't always mean better. Read Less

Cabins are too small specially when you go with kids. This cruise is not good if you wants to have fun. I think they should do first come first serve for the shows since everyone is paying so much money. I wish I was able to see all shows over real it’s was okay all I can say it might be my last one with Royal Caribbean. I thought all cruise were going to be similar on the fun part of it. I took adventure of the seas in the 2004 if I’m not mistaken and it was fun maybe it all depends on the activity director. On this one the assistant was fun and espontáneos but not the director. Maybe that will make the difference. Read Less

I loved Royal Caribbean and I wanted to love this cruise, but they made it impossible. They couldn’t get out of their own way! Restaurant reservation hours were 9-4, but they would let the phone ring until it hung up on you, dirty dishes left in my children’s state room from prior guests, ship staff changing my schedule and inserting activities in the middle of my dinner, dining room staff leaving us in a busy walkway instead of taking us to our table, the list goes on and on. The specialty restaurants were outstanding as was the entertainment. The ice show was particularly amazing. The ports of call and the variety of excursions were ample. It was a cruise so it wasn’t bad, but it was no where close to what i had come to expect from Royal Caribbean. I was a Royal Caribbean loyalist but I’m thinking I need to try out another line. My wife and I decided to book a cruise on one of the biggest cruise ship. I also picked Royal Caribbean due to the great experience we had before. Harmony of the Seas was a very nice and huge ship, but also because of the big ship means more passengers and less service. Services at the retails such as Focus (photos) was lacking due to the amount of people and not enough terminals to view and purchase the photos. The staff at Focus were not really friendly or helpful, they were overwhelmed and did not know how to handle it. The customer service staff did not have the "I am here to make your experience great" attitude that my wife and I have seen on the other RCCL ships. They also lost $150 worth of liqueur bought at port and took 8 hours (2am) to decide to refund me. Other than that, our wait staff at the main dining for dinner (Head Waiter-Ronald Limpin, Asst. Waiter-Joseph Revellame) was awesome. They were very attentive and had great attitude. In summary, if you like attentiveness and great service from the customer service staff or retail staffs, I would not recommend Harmony of the Seas or any ships this size for a cruise. I think the Oasis fleets would be the biggest size I would ever cruise on. Read Less

We chose this cruise to sail with our adult children in their 20/30's, we are in our 60's. They love the flow riders, water slides and outdoor activities. We had both good and bad experiences. First the good, the crew were helpful, friendly and worked hard to make everything pleasant for us. We also liked that they used the room number/key card for taking pictures, so you could easily retrieve the digital images. Didn't like that if you listed two rooms, they would separate individual couples and you could not mix them into a set for purchase..even though both rooms were on one reservation. So hint.. just give them one room number!!. The escape room was very fun, the Royal mystery game was as well. Trivia was fun and a bit challenging so we liked that. Aqua shows were great. Ice shows were very good. Dining room service was very good, however food was meh. Our room steward was exceptional, we had two ocean view balcony room mid-ship and they were as expected. Joining the two balconies was handy. We did do Wonderland uncharge restaurant, and it was a wonder, we throughly enjoyed our adventure there, food, presentation and service were very unique, making it a worthwhile evening. Now the not so greats.. The ship was so crowded. They built a bigger ship with more rooms and a few more activities, but it felt like they did not increases the community spaces proportionally. The windjammer rightly has "jam" in the middle of the it's name. When they have to broadcast asking people to move on and enjoy other neighborhoods on the ship because folks are wandering around searching for seats - not once but several times this happened, and at different times, breakfast being the worst. Food selection was fine, typical. The promenade as well often felt like a busy day at Disneyland.. hard to move from one end to the other due to crowds, and the Noise Level.. oh my! There is often music being played, meanwhile in the lounges off the area on the next level they have different music being played and it is all jumbled. We did find it hard to find a peaceful spot on the ship. Central Park was best for this and had a good guitarist outside of the Italian restaurant, however at times groups would gather there and loudly chat/laugh etc right near the performer and it made it difficult to enjoy the music. The entertainers were very talented, the shows didn't impress us. Columbus had a good cast, great sets and a mess of a story. Grease, again a good cast and sets, but they made it quite vulgar with explicit sexual gestures... weren't needed at all. We had a good embarkation and disembark in Fort Lauderdale, however the disembark in Labaddee was a chaotic mess, and was the disembark in Puerto Rico. The embarkation in Puerto Rico was long lines as well. All in all we were a bit disappointed. We felt the food was so so and not as different as we have had enjoyed in the past and on other cruise lines. The ship was noisy, crowded. Would we go on it again...we might to the right ports and with a young active crowd that would make good use of the all the wonderful outside activities. The ship is clean, beautiful.. but just too crowded for us. Read Less

Please note this is my 14th cruise, so it's not as if I haven't got a frame of reference. I can see why people who have never cruised before would love this cruise with so many options for entertainment and the new gadgets on board are amazing. However, people who have been around the block a few times will find some things very taxing. Here's the good and the bad. THE GOOD: Ship is well maintained and the entertainment is very good. Although the comedy left a bad taste in my mouth and my daughter (19 yrs old) really felt it was lacking. I really loved the Quest game show (look it up on you tube). I got up twice to help out in the game, and yes my daughter was shocked that her Mother would throw her bra to the Captain's of our team. Well, Mom's can be fun too! Drinks were ht and miss. Some times watered down and not good, but Boleros actually asked me what kind of booze I wanted so I said Captain Morgan and he did it right in front of me! That's much better! I want to qualify this next comment very carefully. The dining room staff were top notch!! Fantastic people all of them even though we only ate there two nights. The reason why only two nights? The menu has become so boring in the dining room and so small that it forces you to want to go to the specialty restaurants (that's Cruise lines whole motivation now!!) so we ended up in specialty restaurants eight times! (three times for lunch). We loved them all, but Jamie fell in love with the grilled branzino fish at Chops Grill. My favorite was Wonderland restaurant. I was unprepared for such a delightful evening! Our server was Marcello and I miss him already! It was a two hour fun fest of antics and fun!! Wonderland is built off of the crazy Through the looking glass book. It is NOT for picky eaters! It is for those who want to be adventurous! The view from that restaurant was of the Boardwalk and it was fantastic. Jamie's restaurant was yummy, Sabor's was great service and also yummy. Hibachi grill at Izumi was fun and tasty! Go for your B-day or anniversary their cake is to die for! Be careful you reserve for Hibachi otherwise you will get the regular restaurant side of this one. Johnny Rockets was great! We went three times. Sour dough onion rings and chili cheese fries and route 66 burger and TRUE chocolate shakes.....ohhhhh. The Solarium has a wonderful breakfast and lunch area. If you can try it at least once. Now here is the difference, you can have DINNER at the Adults only Solarium but you either need a reservation or show up in fairly good clothing and ask if there is any openings. That's what my daughter and I did. The Solarium restaurant is NOT shorts and swimsuit at night, it requires pants, or dress wear like any other Specialty restaurant. We enjoyed the fact that there was a more upscale buffet AND a menu to order off of. I wish we did it more than once. There's one place that people seem to miss of forget and I'm going to mention it here because it became our favorite little secret for breakfast! BITES GRILL! It is on one side of ship back where the Abyss is and tidal waves surfing is. It's outside and there's everything you need for breakfast WITHOUT the crowds!! There are always things to do for younger people. Whether it be for the three pools or the waterslides ( and yes I did them with my daughter it was faster than some of the other ships I've been on! But oh my gosh! The stairs got so hot I burned my feet! Our room attendant Winston was the best we've ever had. So attentive and man he was funny. Loved the room 10100. It was only a window view but it was of the front of the ship with the Helipad and ocean so it wasn't so bad, although read my next comments. THE BAD: Some of these could be deal breakers for some people. There are NO WINDOWS on any of the lounges or the restaurants. Yup, no windows. So if you are in an interior room or have an outside view with no OUTSIDE balcony the only way you see the ocean with wind blowing in your face is the pool deck. Oh I know what you're thinking "Oh I can just go to the viking crown lounge." THINK AGAIN! It is reserved for GRAND SUITE and above guests ONLY! The WHOLE THING!!! I was so mad when I found out. And here's the kicker, if you are Diamond, Diamond Plus and Pinnacle you get stuck in the basement on level four with no views!!! That's right you have a private room, but it's in the basement!!! And you get something like coupons now to give an attendant in that room for your drinks. When my parents found that out they decided they weren't going to even look at ships like that in the future. WAY TO GO RCCL for making your crown and anchor members feel like dirt. I will be putting a video up on this shortly. Also, their new wrist bands are a waste of time and money. We ended up going to guest services twice a day because we kept getting charges on our drinking package!! They changed our bands and cards so many times, they even messed up and gave me a young adult card picture (my daughters) and one of the servers in the spa area juice bar accused me of stealing the card!! I was so upset I had them remove the gratuities for the cruise and I ended up leaving all my tips separately for the people who deserved it. OH!! I ALMOST FORGOT!! If you bring your lanyards for your room cards think again! You are NOT allowed to punch a hole in these cards! They deactivate the doors!! (In my room video of 10100) I was spitting fire about it. I bought some special ones for Freedom of the Seas so I was not happy. What you CAN do is get the plastic covers so you can carry your card around with you. Go to a dollar store maybe. There was one show we were feeling needed work. that's the Columbus show. I'm so done with shows that use today's pop music to tell a story. Here I was thinking this was going to be new material new songs,NOPE just the same old thing using radio music for a show. Don't get me wrong the actors were the best on any ship, but at the end of the show they used RCCL cruise ship in the back drop and used it as a moment for propaganda I was disgusted!!! The ship was over booked and busy all the time everywhere. It wasn't as relaxing as we would have wanted it. RCCL has also declined in services, unless of coarse you want to pay and pay and pay. My daughter and I did not like the comedy. Carnival still beats them in this area. What you should be wary of? Watch your account VERY carefully, check it every day on the T.V.. Book every event as EARLY as possible. Even if it's when you get on board the ship do it right away, just be aware if you leave it that late you may miss out on Grease or other shows. Comedy didn't open up until three days before the ship sailed. The IQ stations can take getting used to as well. Generally not a bad ship although if you take exceptions to large obnoxious crowds (and it seems to get worse on larger ships) and you like to have windows in lounges and restaurants, or have Diamond status or above you will not be happy with this ship. The dining room food stinks and Windjammer is constantly busy and the same food over and over again! The constant extras that add up on your bill will drive you nuts!! The beer was 8 dollars a bottle and the mixed drinks were 13-15 dollars!! It was insane! My husband wasn't on this trip, but when I showed him the videos he said it looked like fun, but not worth the price we paid, we booked an all inclusive vacation in D.R. and Cozumel for the next year and they will at least include everything, and it's going to a lot less over all! The ship is as advertised. Clean, great shows, plenty to do. Surprisingly, the boat did not feel crowded with over 6500 guests on board. Truly special. However, the service leaves a lot to be desired. The food was average at best. The wait staff was not very attentive in any of the restaurants we ate. The worst part was the lack of direction or support given at the ports of call. In short, once you were off the boat you were on your own, even if you were on a Royal Caribbean sponsored excursion. Many times we were left to wander (with 3 young kids) trying to find the right van, bus, etc with no RC employee in sight. Beware- RC (unlike other cruise lines) will give their employee name badges to employees of local vendor companies. This leaves you with false impression you are dealing with someone who is vested to help you. For those that enjoy the service touches of a Disney, Princess, etc note that this is a big step down. I have been cruising since I was 15 years old (3 decades later..) to say that my last RCL cruise was back in 2006. During that time, I had ready been on 3 RCL cruises and always had a wonderful experience. Food was absolutely wonderful and always compare other cruise line menus-food to RCL. I wanted to take my kids on the RCL Harmony and was able to book a few weeks prior to sailing. First of, I was told by my travel agent that there were no more cabins available for a party of 4. I had to book 2 cabins (not connecting) and separate my family (I have two kids under 13). She attempted to contact RCL agent and was told the same thing I was placed on merged call with the RCL agent and was told "I am sorry". The next day ( after I booked) the RCL website had cabins available for 4 people at $700 less expensive. I called my agent and the RCL office, I was told once again "I am sorry..." and I was unable to get a refund or credit. Shore excursion- RCL was having a promotion ,30% off shore excursion, if you booked online by a certain date. I had to create 2 separate accounts (one for me and the other for my hubby). I reserved an excursion at St. Martin, speed boat tour with snorkling, for both cabins. I quickly paid for my daughter and myself and when I quickly logged in to pay for my husband and sons excursion, the RCL website would not allow me to log in. I was unable to book the excursion and when I called RCL I was told "I am sorry...there are no more we are sold out." I asked how if I just reserved it she replied "We have a glitch on the website....I am sorry.." Once I boarded I made a daily visit to Luis from the ship's shore excursion dept. On the day we arrived at St. Martin I gave me tickets to my son and hubby while Luis was able to get me in to the catamaran/beach day excursion (last minute). Thanks Luis I only wished I was able to snorkel with my hubby and son. embarkation: Took about 10 minutes, smooth and quick disembarkation: The gangway was nice, it went smoothly and quick Hygiene: hand sanitizers everywhere. I really enjoyed the hand washing prior to eating at Windjammer. I only wished everyone would have washed their hands instead of sneaking in. Ship: by far is the most beautiful ship I have been on(or seen). The lay out is wonderful. Hot tubs and pool distributed well. Central Park and the BOARDWALK: AMAZING! The solarium: Is a must for adults! Cabin: We had 2 boardwalk balconies: the rooms are very spacious, clean and enough closet space. Only downfall...It is noisy. So if you want to relax in your room the boardwalk balcony is not for you. Dining: You have ruined the experience for me and my family RCL. Food was awful. I really expected the good food quality back from the 90's and early 2000's..Royal caribbean , I have compared all other cruise lines dinign experience to yours but really you are at the bottom. I can say that my new favorite cruise to eat buffet style dining is NCL (Getaway and the Escape) and Carnival for GUY's burgers (I can still taste it:yummy) I am really disappointed with the food at Harmony. Coffee was watered down and not hot(at Windjammer and Prommenade) No Mac and Cheese for the kids, and "the burgers at McD's are better" (my son said that and he does not like McD's). Yes., you might say there are specialty cafe stores including Starbucks but the cafe shop's coffee was also not great( told to me by 3 other travelers on the ship) and I did purchase Starbucks on 3 occasions (one in Puerto Rico) but I did not want to spend an extra $20 a day on coffee as I already spent 8K on booking this cruise. To top it off, I have had the runs since day 3 and I just disembarked today March 30th, 2018. RCL, please change your food options and taste of the food. Oh I almost forgot., I always enjoy the buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinner. I have kids and is hard to get everyone ready on time in order to eat and catch a show so we prefer dining at the buffet. For breakfast there was no Omelet station only an egg station "sunny side up.." If you wanted an omelet you had to go down to Johnny rockets. What???? Okay so forget the omelet., Fruit loops? you had to ask the attendant to search for fruit loops, other days they had none (I have a very picky eater). for kids and maybe some adults: soft ice cream self serve station, a line maybe more than 10+ at a time. They ran out of chocolate by day 6 and most of the times it did not work. One day, the Windjammer was serving Paella: No shrimps....what?? I searched and searched and searched...NADA. Are cruise ships cancelling seafood night at the buffets? No shrimps, Lobsters., etc.. Please reply if you know this. Entertainment: Fine line was great, even though it had to be altered due to rough seas but they were amazing. Columbus the musical., I walked out did not care for it. Grease: Oh my favorite movie of all time, You killed it for me RCL. It was just bad. Other shows around the ship were good but my favorite has always been he belly flop contest and the newlywed game. The cruise director was funny and great. Ports and Shore excursions: I have been to St. Martin PR many time prior to this sailing and labadee only once(I think when RCL open the excursion to labadee and we needed tenders) I felt that PR was too short form 8:30 am to 2:pm We could not do many thing in PR but walk around. St. Martin: amazing as always Labadee: Impressed how it has progressed over the years but the waters are murky and the currents are strong especially on the left side of the island. We did the roller coaster excursion. We were told it would take about 4 mins to come down from the coaster. I think it was more of 45 secs to 60 secs to tell you the truth. It was an okay experience but will not do it again. I rented a kayak for $15 for only 30 mins.. everything is $$$$$$. MAKE SURE you bring your own container and fill it with ice/water prior to getting of the ship during port days. We each had a water container. Saved us plenty of $ in PR and St. Martin. Arcade: BE CAREFUL. There was an online promotion for a prepurchase of $40 and you get a $50 arcade credit. You are suppose to activate it prior to 10 pm on Day 1 of sailing (no one really tells you this unless you read your program) The staff at the arcade said to wait 10 minutes or return the next day to start playing. I only added the credit to my husbands card. I did not want my kids to have access (we wanted to control how much is being spent) My husband tried his card on 3 occasions but could not get the game to start. I called the attendant over the arcade line and was told to wait a few minutes and swipe again but this time press the 2 green arrows. We come to find out we were charged those 3 times ($1.50 X 3) I asked how can we tell how much we have left on our seapass (you know our $50 credit) the response was "You have to keep track of it yourself." So guess what? I did. On my iphone under notes I created a small spreedsheet. Do I really need to be doing this on vacation? I guess so. On the last day as I looked over the statmentI had to go over to guest services and we were charged over $15.00 in the ARCADE. I showed her my spreadsheet and they said they would credit me. So Parents warning every game is $1.50 -$2.00. Keep track. Overall, I will not be going on another RCL cruise unless I win RCL cruise tickets or corporate wants to make it up to me and my family. I do not know what I will do but I will skip RCL for now. Read Less

Too many add on fees. Movie in room - fee. Coke - fee. Too many things broken or had technical difficulties. Fine Line - technical issues. Grease - stage locked up. "Coco" Movie - technical issues, cancelled. Gangway - technical issue. All 6,000 passenger use ONE gangway. Loved waiting there...said no one, ever. And too many activities closed ALOT. Zip line, slide, climbing wall, etc hours were all really short so ling lines when they were open. And they would have lines 30 minutes long yet would only open up 1 side. Why? To force you to buy drinks while waiting? Our room was on Boardwalk. Stay away!!! You hear the stupid carousel from like 6:30AM to 10PM. You can also hear the club till like 2AM. Hence, really noisy! Food was basic. Definitely below my experiences on Disney. The add on or specialty dining was nothing to note either. Only upside was it wasn't crowded but food was really basic. Read Less

Food average at best, service in main dinning slow and low quality food. Crowds everywhere, I know it was spring break, but you cannot have that many people on 1 ship, wait lines for everything- slides and flow rider min of 30 minutes( felt like 6 flags) Lines to get on and off boat long. Wait for drinks food pictures and Oh my Gd the elevators are a night mare. Entertainment had technical issues every show. Private island anything but private- long lines for everything. Prices for zipline and water events thru the roof- hour long wait to go on roller coaster, glad we did not buy unlimited pass. Snorkel trip on St Martin a waste, no fish or coral, went to nice beach for an hour had fun waves. Read Less

We were a group of 5 of family in friends ranging from 13 to 60. Lots of activities for each age range. We wanted to try the biggest ship i the world after having experienced Allure a few years back and it blew us away on every level. There were a number of small changes that were made that do make all the difference (call me fussy perhaps but in the past they were available and it made it feel extra special) Such as they no longer put chocolates on your pillow, room service for breakfast now has a charge if you want anything except continental. We used to enjoy our breakfast on the balcony especially on port days. Also no bottles of water in the room. They tend to shut down one side of the Windjammer making it really packed and even harder to find tables. We love musicals and entertainment. We found many of the shows really poor this time. Except for the Ice show and the diving show, they were amazing as was the Headliner ventriloquist..but Grease was awful. The positives, the food was really great. Dining room service excellent. Room and room attendant Arles amazing. The ports were great. Its a beautiful ship for sure and overall we had a fabulous time I'm just mentioning the items above as they were noticed and missed. The good: The cruise is beautiful and offers many activities. Is family friendly. The food is decent. The dining table and room service personnel are very friendly. I recommend the Xplor Park tour for those that can handle heights and extraneous exercise. The bad The cruise feels very crowded in the buffet as well as in the restaurants. Lots of long lines, and not enough tables to sit. They are now charging around $9 for room service when it used to be free. The "streaming" internet which ought to be the fastest paid one was very slow. It is very difficult to schedule shows because when you get onboard they have already been "sold out". The costumer service was rude to me on various occasions. Cabins where small. The first time was on my first day when I call the costumer service to see why my restaurant and show reservations did not show on my TV programing and they said that I had none, when I told them I spent hours reserving them, the lady said that it did not matter, to forget about those and schedule what was left over the phone, when I said I had the reservations receipt she said that it did not matter to her because she could not see them. Then on the second day I was wrongfully charged $235 from the spa. I spent days disputing them while being doubted and accused by customer service. At the end they apologies giving me 15% discount toward a future room. I had spent 15,000 for 4 rooms. The birthday time that we went to celebrate got dampen by the ordeal. Their sorry, and their 15%off won’t cut it. This is my 16th cruise and the only other problem I had had so far was with their sister cruise when the toilet kept backing up and I was blamed about it for days then after I video recorded the maintenance guy open in the pipes they could not deny the problem was caused a cable. TIPS: ***Schedule the shows, dinner, and excursion before going onboard. Comedies are very packed, and I think you must call those in, I couldn't do it online. ***Bring the confirmations of all the reservations with you. ***Arrive early on embarkation so that you can eat before the drill, and so that you can leave water in the room, there is no food or water around for a little while. ***Bring sunblock, lots of us got sunburned and did not feel it, and the islands and cruise charge you double for sunblock of after care. *** Balconies in the Central Park and Boardwalk could get noisy. ***Balconies in the left side of the boat get an obstructed view in Cozumel, but nice sunsets in some days. (my room was 14314) ***Don't skip formal days. The menus are better those days. The last formal day they offered lobster. Read Less

This is our 4th consecutive cruise on Royal Caribbean. The ship is great and service is great too especially at the Grande and American Icon. A few things to note: My 8 year old daughter was able to charge $30 at the arcade and we complained to the front desk staff why she able to do that when we specifically restricted charges on our 3 kids sea pass cards. Janaina was unsympathetic and stated that they cannot restrict childrens cards from the Arcade..stating it was on a “different system”. We asked to be refunded and she declined to. Labadee’s beaches are filled with so many rocks that my kids got cuts. We were told on the ship that all the sun loungers were booked and they only had 4 left but when we got there we noticed at least a dozen were empty. If your kids have long hair be very careful using the stateroom hair dryers, my daughter’s hair ended being sucked into the hair dryer and I had to cut 2 inches of her hair to get her loose. The Surf and Internet stream package is completley unreliable and over priced. What a waste of money. The stateroom TV aired a Marriage Show they taped with cruisers and their spouses with the cruise Director hosting the show. The show was filled with sexual inuendos and of course your kids can end up watching it if your’re not careful. Not sure what Royal Caribbean was thinking there. One last comment, Royal Caribbean announced through a press release a $200 million dollar overhaul to Coco Cay private island, would have been nice if the Marketing Teams shared that with everyine on the ship too versus having to read that in USA Today while we were onboard. Marketing missed an opportunity to generate excitement there. This cruise felt a few notches down on the experience side from our 3 previous March Break cruises. My family and extended family (total of 35) are booked for Symphony of the Seas for March Break 2019, hopefully it will be a better experience. Read Less
