Great ship but had problems

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Harmony of the Seas

We have cruised on RCCL many times and never had any problems. For some reason this cruise we had a lot. The crew were great and thank goodness Guest Relations was great or we would have had a terrible time. We usually never have to go to Guest Relations but on this cruise we were there at least 5 times. They were small problems but when so many happens on one cruise it makes the cruise ...

Aesthetics vs Food

Harmony of the Seas is a beautiful ship. Pro's of the ship is lots of activity to appease all age groups. Great Piano music. Kudos to Andrew. Service and food quality was definitely lacking. After a week on the boat could not even tell you the name of my Cabin steward. Schooner's bar was definitely the worse. "Couldn't make a drink as they were out of Baily's." Give me a break there was 3 ...

Please note this is my 14th cruise, so it's not as if I haven't got a frame of reference. I can see why people who have never cruised before would love this cruise with so many options for entertainment and the new gadgets on board are amazing. However, people who have been around the block a few times will find some things very taxing. Here's the good and the bad. THE GOOD: Ship is ...

Bigger Not Always Better

My perspective is from a seasoned mature cruiser with over 25 cruises including most of the popular cruise lines. The food & service were fine in both the Main dining room & Windjammer Buffet. Other restaurants we liked are the Solarium Bistro & the Park Café all at no extra charge. Shows were a mixed bag the much touted Grease was too long at 90 minutes. The Music was OK, but the dialog ...

Below average, not what we expected

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Harmony of the Seas

We wanted to experience the harmony and what we got was a below average experience. The food could be compared to cafeteria food, examples chicken parm with mashed potatoes, the verity on the food had no pop or wanted you to try it, the deserts where frozen or had no taste. Haiti was the worst experience of the cruise, dogs running around eating area, locals picking from trash pails while ...

Fun, but...

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Harmony of the Seas

We took Harmony of the Seas for a seven night cruise. The ship is massive with plenty of fun activities and entertainment. It is beautiful and the maintenance/cleanliness is superior. We were so happy with the appearance at all times. The break out game was an awesome idea, but they book at least 12 people on a session and by the time you get all those people in there it's not worth the money. The ...

The boat is a winner, the service is not

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Harmony of the Seas

The ship is as advertised. Clean, great shows, plenty to do. Surprisingly, the boat did not feel crowded with over 6500 guests on board. Truly special. However, the service leaves a lot to be desired. The food was average at best. The wait staff was not very attentive in any of the restaurants we ate. The worst part was the lack of direction or support given at the ports of call. In short, once ...

I have been cruising since I was 15 years old (3 decades later..) to say that my last RCL cruise was back in 2006. During that time, I had ready been on 3 RCL cruises and always had a wonderful experience. Food was absolutely wonderful and always compare other cruise line menus-food to RCL. I wanted to take my kids on the RCL Harmony and was able to book a few weeks prior to sailing. First of, I ...

Crowds

Ship is nice, lots of activities, clean, friendly staff. Arrived 3pm for departure still waited 30 minutes to check in. Departed at 730 glad I had Global entry. Food average at best, service in main dinning slow and low quality food. Crowds everywhere, I know it was spring break, but you cannot have that many people on 1 ship, wait lines for everything- slides and flow rider min of 30 ...

Too crowded, too many add on fees, and Boardwalk rooms are NOT good

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Harmony of the Seas

Too many add on fees. Movie in room - fee. Coke - fee. Too many things broken or had technical difficulties. Fine Line - technical issues. Grease - stage locked up. "Coco" Movie - technical issues, cancelled. Gangway - technical issue. All 6,000 passenger use ONE gangway. Loved waiting there...said no one, ever. And too many activities closed ALOT. Zip line, slide, climbing wall, etc ...
