Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on MSC Preziosa

Choose for the price and ports, but what a mistake. I'm sure you have read about the terrible food, but that just doesn't do it justice. All meat is served cold and raw, including bacon and hot dogs. Dinner always includes a (venomous) Cuttlefish and Squid salad (?) or some kind of (hopefully worm) under prepared fish, that I was was to scared to order. The staff is friendly and attentive and ...

Oceania sinks to new lows

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Marina

Currently on board Marina on second leg of two from Amsterdam to London-19 days. This is 4th cruise with Oceania and first post Covid. Very sad to report, in my opinion, the Oceania of the pass is no longer a float. We have experienced almost across the board changes in service, food quality and selection and poor attitudes. Transfers from the hotel in Amsterdam was simply chaotic to ...

Catastrophic state of things and health hazards ignored by the captain and ship's hotel management

Unfortunately, summarizing our experience on board the Queen Mary 2 we are more than astonished about: • the threatening level of hygiene in our Britannia club cabin, noise pollution as such as the public spaces of the ship (see picture report enclosed) • the threatening health risks on board due to a lack of maintenance (see pictures enclosed) • the missing management attention on board ...

Pros = 1) Service at the dinner - Waiter always friendly 2) Service and cleanliness on our Room 3) Pre paid internet was 4gb for 4 devices and it was cheap comparing with other cruises that I´ve made 4) Pre paid digital pictures was very cheap. I got in the end a pen drive with 120 pictures taken during the cruise and it costed 90 euros. During the cruise, they were charging 30 euros ...

Disappointed

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Preziosa

This was my first cruise on MSC and I should have paid better attention to the reviews. There were so many things wrong, the list is long: 1. Food. I was on the ship for 15 days and the same cold breakfast buffet was offered everyday. There is no service in the buffet unless you pay for items from the buffet bar. 2. Be prepared to add the cost of water, tea or coffee in the main dining ...

The good * getting on the ship - fast and easy. The bad * service onboard was terrible - had to wave down staff to get their attention * the food was below average * most of the staff could not speak english - bar staff, restaurant staff, etc.Made it very difficult to communicate a drink or food order * the entertainment was bad * many, many hard sell tactics to get you to buy ...

We chose this mini cruise for the Easter Weekend and were keen to visit Hamburg. The time spent in Hamburg was great and we were looking forward to a leisurely trip back to Southampton. Embarkation was a joke 2.5 hours of total chaos with no apparent management in attendance. Having cruised many times we know that we would be required to attend the mandatory drill, however there were no ...

We booked a 3 day leg of this cruise to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday. We had a terrible time and MSC succeeded in ruining what should have been a landmark celebration. There were 18 in our party and we have a long list of issues we have taken up with MSC, which includes: - Almost 4 hours to board the ship at Hamburg - no water, no assistance, we had a 4, 6, 8 and 71 year olds in our ...

A Case Study of How Not to Run a Cruise Ship

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on MSC Magnifica

We have heard very mixed reports about MSC, some saying they are dreadful, others saying they are making great improvements so we thought a simple couple of nights on the ship from Hamburg to Southampton would be a good way to experience it ourselves. It was a shambles, I don't actually think shambles reflected the level of disorganisation experienced on the trip. We arrived at the terminal, ...

We are two NCL Platinum members, tempted to try MSC by their status match program, in which we were enrolled as 'Black'. Until this trip, we have only ever cruised on Norwegian, so we were very much expecting a very different experience to what we're used to. We were expecting here to be some positive differences, and some negative ones. Booking and communication. Once we had our status ...
