First time with MSC and couldn't really fault. Great value taster cruise from Hamburg to Southampton on an "All Inclusive" basis.
Ship is large and well laid out. Plenty of space and nowhere seemed too busy.
Staff were friendly and attentive. Never had to ask to order drinks, they were on hand throughout.
Fine dining was OK and buffet very good for choice.
Went to 2 or the 3 show ...
We chose the cruise for the itinerary and the sailing date, although we had a bad experience with MSC before. We did not book any transport or excursions with MSC but made our own arrangements. Embarkation was the usual tedious business, disembarkation was worse because we had to vacate the cabin at 7:30 and could not leave until 9:45. There are too few restrooms in the public areas and the ...
Sailed on Splendida before and liked the two cruises back to back out of Hamburg. Service was amazing in the Yatch Club. Sailed the Norwegian fiords 15 days then to Iceland for 11 days, could have stayed longer. The Yatch club made excursion very easy as you were escorted off and back by staff therefore bypassing all the queues.
The only negative for us was that as we are Australian we only ...
We book the cruise on MSC because of the ship look nice in the pic; the route is very interesting so we book it. Before we had some cruise with NCL and Celebrity. So we can compare a little. In the first impression it looks all very nice, the ship is in a good condition, and it’s clean. Not perfect, but it's OK. We booked some beverage packages, like Cappuccino, Water and bottle wine, so far so ...
I would like to make a complaint of my last cruise with MSC.
In October 2013, I made a cruise in the Mediterranean in the ship Lirica. I reserved a balcony and this trip was great. I had a beautiful view from my balcony.
I was so pleased with MSC that I decided to make another cruise with the same company. So I reserved the cruise from Hamburg in the ship called Splendida. And I made this ...
Just returned from cruise with MSC Splendida (Hamburg - Orkney Islands, Iceland, Loch Ness, Amsterdam (was changed to Rotterdam the night before arrival)). Nice Ship and impressing shows at the theatre, but that is the almost the only nice we can say.
We can recognize many of the other comments here regarding MSC.
Dis-organized embarkation with long, long lines for check-in, no information ...
Two facts about MSC cruises become apparent within a few hours of boarding the ship - in our case the Splendida to the Norwegian fjords. One: it is all about making money and two: the cruise is not meant for non- Europeans. Of the almost 4000 passengers aboard, about 90% were German and the rest mostly Italian and French. I doubt if there were more than a dozen English speakers on the entire ship. ...
Embarkation at HAM which was panic, heat and confusion. Being offered to pose for a souvenir photo at the end of the ordeal was not a good idea.
The cabin was great.
The way the ship was driven was great. Heads off to the nautical staff. The ship itself is a modern engineering marvel.
The staff were great, although it came across when chatting with them that this was not a 'happy' ship - ...
Msc was a big disappointment. The fact that they do not have ice tea or lemonade for you to drink is ridiculous. They do not cater to American cruisers.Americans like to have coffee with dinner at a formal dinning room, it was not available and they would not go get it. The portions and choices in the main dinning room were horrible.
They did not have very many activities to kids and they were ...
We chose this cruise becase of the places it visited, more particularly Svalbard. The ship was well appointed, however MSC did not live up to the hype that everything was in english. Whilst they were not the majority of passengers all the food and entertainment was focused on italians and french. Further MSC were misers, for example, they did not supply water in the dining rooms, unless you ...
