AQSC Puts the "Cuss" back in Customer Service

Review for a North America River Cruise on American Countess

Beautiful scenery, great entertainment, fair excursions, rude & inept customer service, and the most grossly mis-managed food service operation I’ve seen in my entire life. AQSC puts the “cuss” back in customer service. This was our 10th cruise (river and ocean) and by far the absolute “bottom of the barrel”. Here are my observations (from best to worst) and what you can expect from an AQSC ...

AQSC Duchess "Mighty Mississippi" - Red Wing, MN to New Orleans, LA

Wonderful 14-day cruise down the Mississippi River for my wife and I. This was a retirement celebration re-scheduled from the same cruise last year which was cancelled due to Covid. The pre-cruise hotel in Bloomington, MN was nice and we were able to start getting acquainted with other cruisers. The pre-cruise check-in was smooth and easy. No Covid testing required, just show your ...

Beautiful ship

The American Countess is a beautiful clean new ship. The ship has large windows in the library and card rooms to watch the river, and lots of chairs on decks. I went down the Mississippi from Memphis to New Orleans. I have some foot problems and the company provide a golf cart at every landing to take people from the ship to the excursion bus, so I availed myself of that service. I loved every ...

If you are under 70 and/or an active person, this cruise is not for you

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American Duchess

My husband and I took the American Duchess from St. Louis to Minneapolis on the Mississippi River. We knew it would be quieter than other cruises we have taken, but we were not really prepared for how little there was to do (both onboard and at the ports of call). The boat had virtually no entertainment, other than cheesy 45-minute shows given each day by an entertainment staff of 3 people ...

No real regard for the needs of a handicapped passenger

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American Countess

Booked this cruise for my mom's 90th birthday celebration. When I requested a handicapped room, I was told all rooms are handicapped accessible. They were not. We spent the first day and a half waiting for an accessible room. I requested and received confirmation that we were seated for early dining as my mom needed to eat at a particular time, not at 8 pm in the evening. We boarded the ...

Mississippi River cruise

We cruised on the American Countess which left New Orleans on May 16. Overall it was a good trip, particularly the entertainment and the dining. The cruise included one night at the Hilton Riverside in New Orleans. This allowed for a conference room to be used for pre-cruise COVID testing. That part was easy and we got our results via email in about an hour. Check-in was complicated by ...

A perfect trip on the American Countess

Although my wife and I are seasoned travelers, we were delighted at the opportunity to take our first-ever cruise on AQSC’s newest jewel to her crown: the American Countess. With high expectations, we embarked in late March for a 5-night trip out of New Orleans bound for Memphis. Summary? We were thrilled with every single aspect of this trip, one which exceeded our hopes far beyond our capacity ...

We had the pleasure of being on the Christening Voyage for the American Countess and it was beyond our greatest expectations, This being one of the first cruises allowed due to COVID and we never felt any concerns with the protocols. The crew and staff made everyone feel safe and so comfortable. The accommodations, service and food for this new boat are first class. We made several day stops ...

We loved our whole trip. Flew into New Orleans the day before and had a nice stay in the hotel included in the price. Transfers to the boat was very nice and easy. Once on board were meet with snacks and we went to our room. Bags waiting for us. We could not stop at our first location and used that day to cruise up the river to Baton Rouge. We did the hop on hop off bus tour. Drivers were great ...
