We had originally booked this cruise pre Covid (2019) with our American friends. Although we are Australians this was to be our sixth boat cruise which was deferred until Australian's travel restrictions were lifted. As can be assumed we had very high expectations that we would enjoy the cruise, as we had previously done on the American Queen. Sadly, this was not to be. I've purposely left writing ...

We had been on this lines American countess in the northwest 2 years ago and had a wonderful time. With all of the Covid precautions we felt very comfortable. The ship was lovely, but the trip began with a mechanical problem that held us over in New Orleans for an extra day. Being experienced cruisers we did not find this upsetting, besides, an extra day in New Orleans is a bonus. I do have to ...
We wanted to do a paddleboat River Cruise and our friend that owns a travel agency suggested we try this ship. The ship and the crew were fantastic. However, we found no out that people that booked in the month before the sailing were given room upgrades and up to $1000 credit. Apparently so many people cancelled due to the ports being closed because of high water levels that the line needed to ...

We enjoyed a fabulous on this line's competitor ACL and decided to try this company on same route. We were sorely disappointed from first boarding! Other line allowed our son to aid mobility limited father to get settled in room and these folks were abrupt and rude to son, refusing to let him help and said boarding area was for ticked passengers only. Passengers were herded in groups and put ...

My friend and I did a 7 day cruise from New Orleans to Memphis.
We had a mid range cabin on Deck 4 which had a table and 2 chairs on the deck.
The cabin was comfortable but not luxurious. Very basic and small.
The entertainment was first class. The grand salon had tables and drink menus but it proved impossible to get service.
We resorted to getting drinks from the Captains Bar before ...
Exciting itinerary that should have been the hi light of our music route tour of the southern states but proved anything but.
Chose an A grade cabin which was tired and very small - thank heavens we had our own balcony. Clean and well tended by our cabin steward who was delightful.
Entertainment was good if a little narrow in scope relying on a good band and song and dance group. The Mark ...
We had traveled outside the USA and wanted to see the south without driving. We embarked in Memphis and steamed down the Mississippi. The condition of the ship and our accommodations were better than we expected although the rooms near the paddle are definitely too noisy to be comfortable. The service and the food were better than average. The entertainment team was very talented. However, in ...
Cruised on the American Queen from St Louis, MO to St Paul, MN on August 2, 2015.
Trip began with an overnight stay in St Louis. While at the hotel, we completed embarkation paperwork. I was informed that I had been moved to second seating for dinner. This was after being confirmed for early seating dinner since I reserved the trip in November of 2014, 9 months prior to sailing. I met with the ...
The boat itself is an interesting experience. It is like stepping back in history which is lovely.
The food was below average. I heard this comment from other passengers as we were all at the airport on our way home.
Some of the tour guides could use a bit of help. It was common for them to go off on their own agenda that was not part to the tour.
The evening entertainment was great. ...
