We liked the itinerary, and like sailing out of Baltimore
We liked our dining room waiters, table 235, Andro was excellent as well as Low. The food was always good, and the waiters always made sure we were satisfied with everything.
We liked having breakfast in dining room and especially liked Nitesh and Yogesh.

Wanting to plan a break from the winter weather, we got a very good deal on an inside cabin on Grandeur. We've sailed on the Lady G before (Sept. 2018 NE/Canada) and knew what to expect. Me (53), Husband (57). Our neighbors also went and this was their first cruise.

This was our second cruise on Grandeur so we knew going in that its an older smaller ship that isnt as fresh and full of activities/ options as the newest ships. With that said, there is a certain charm to the ship and the chances of running into the same guests and staff are very high. This allows people to build rapport and makes for a friendlier cruise.

Since we live within 45 minutes of Baltimore we decided to book at Gandeur of the Seas. The embarkation was so very easy to board the ship and parking was very plentiful. We desired a cruise out of our local port, Baltimore, for convenience. We did this same itinerary out of Cape Liberty on a different boat in 2010. We were able to get on the boat in the late morning, providing an extra day of onboard fun. We left on time.

Grandure is a bit dated but if you are looking for classic cruising this is a good ship to meet those types of expectations. Royal has not updated this ship to include water slides and a wave runner. The ship is not very new, but its clean and looks good. Cabins are a good size, and amenities are good. Food was great, pretty standard though. They don't have 24/7 food like all the other cruises I went on, but they have it until 2/3am.

This was our 9th cruise, 2nd with Royal. After cruising on the Oasis, I have to say that the small to medium size ship are more attractive to me.
Although the Grandeur is an older ship, and smaller ship, it has a charm to it that makes you look over some of its dated look. The open atrium (centrum) makes the ship feel larger than it is.
