Awful experience - Royal Caribbean should be ashamed.

Review for a Bermuda Cruise on Grandeur of the Seas

This was the worst holiday we have ever experienced. The advertised cruise was for Bermuda however due to Hurricane Matthew it ended up cruising to New York. Obviously safety is the main priority and the bad weather is beyond the control of Royal Caribbean, however we felt that we were not kept informed of what was happening. We contacted Royal Caribbean prior to the cruise as we were aware of ...

The Gradeur is my 5th RC ship. At the beginning of the week, I contacted RC about this particular cruise and the possibility of the itinerary changing. Hurricane Matthew was brewing and Nicole was heading to Bermuda. I was told RC would be monitoring the situation and inform me of any changes. People who booked through AAA, knew Saturday that RC wasn't going to Bermuda. Customer service said ...

We opted for this ship, cause the reviews where mostly mixed, half good and half not so good, but it felt like the not happy people where over expecting. I don't believe that anymore. The ship opted to not go to Bermuda before it even left port, it informed the travel agents, but not any of the guests. If you didn't use a travel agent, you where not told till 10pm that you where going to an ...

As we'd cruised the Caribbean, Alaska, and the Panama Canal, we decided to go to New England & Canada, and we're so glad we did. We loved all the ports, but Bar Harbor was our favorite. We hadn't been to Baltimore, so we went a couple of days early to explore this beautiful city. Took a bus/trolley tour to visit the city, even took the water taxi over to Ft. McHenry. Very impressed with this ...

This is my third cruise on Royal. I don't remember much about my first (Monarch of the Seas), but last year's cruise to Alaska on the Jewel set the bar too high for the Grandeur to meet. I'm not dinging them in my review because the cruise was good and, other than some truly sub-par food in the main dining room, I was generally satisfied. It just wasn't up to the experience I had on the Jewel. ...

Embarkation was smooth. It took about 1 hour from arrival at port to on the ship. Ship although 20 years old was beautiful, classic, generally well maintained. Nice layout with wrap around promenade deck on Deck 5 and Walking track (4 laps to the mile ) on Deck 10. Nice layout and easy to get around. Some small maintenance issues and some water leaks between Deck 9 and 10 when it rained but ...

This cruise on Grandeur of the Seas redeemed the reputation of RCCI and Celebrity for me. Past cruises with RCCI and Celebrity had been disasters. This cruise on Grandeur of the Seas was GREAT very enjoyable. We and our friends had a great time. The staff and crew were the most pleasant, helpful, and courteous that we have encountered. Yes, the Grandeur is an older ship, a little warn around ...

This ship is 20 years old and shows every day of it. It is in need of a re-fit or probably a trip to the scrap yard. Showers are so small as to be almost unusable. Best bet is to go to the spa for a shower. Alcohol prices are very high, the beverage package is outrageous but you can negotiate it done by 20% if you are willing to work at for an hour. The only bargain is a 25 oz. Foster's ...

We have traveled with Royal Caribbean multiple times and have had wonderful experiences. The Grandeur is an older and smaller ship so we weren't sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised to find the ship is in excellent condition and is very clean. Yes, you can see lots of nicks and scratches but you can also see she has been well cared for. Although the ship is small, it didn't seem ...

We selected this cruise because it sailed from Baltimore which is about 1.5 hours from each of our homes. We were a family of 4 sailing in a grand suite. My Mom 82, My brother 62, me 59 and my 39 year old daughter. My Mom doesn't like to fly so we needed to find a cruise that we could drive to. We considered a larger ship sailing out of Cape Liberty, but we were drawn to the smaller size of ...
