My husband and I booked this to celebrate our Anniversary. One issue after the next from the time we got on the boat until the time we left. Food outside of the speciality restaurants was mediocre at best. We spent an extra day anchored in the bay due to bad weather causing us to miss 2 of our ports. I say 2 because we were only in Nassau from 1130pm until 1230am. The ship itself was run down. Common areas were dirty as well as the bathrooms. It is clear they don't value customer loyalty. There were some positives while on board but those all came with an extra fee. Chef's table and Giovannis were out of this world as well as the service received in the bar areas. Machines were without ice most of the time and bottled beverages were always warm. We would definitely love to cruise again but it won't be with Royal Caribbean. Read Less

This was suppose to be a fun, family & friends birthday cruise but it was anything but that ! I invited my girlfriend & her husband who both were first time cruiser.(celebrating her birthday) My husband was a first time cruiser as well, also celebrating his birthday. It was a party of 14 of us in total. So out of the 14 there was 11 first time cruiser. Myself, My Sister, & friend were the only 3 who have cruise over 5-8 times before so we know how things can be. We understand that there is nothing you can do about the weather. We had one half day were we experience rough waters & cause the ship to be rocky. Again not too much can be done. I do feel like hey could have gave us some kind of refund or credit beside one $10.20 port fee. We only had one true day in port. ! Our cruise was @ sea & I really feel like I was ripped off. We stopped in one port for only 45mins. Everything was close & it was dark. This was THE WORST EVER VACATION IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!!!! I feel like my hard earned money was truly wasted! I also experience my first night a rude waiter in the main dinning area. Also they did not seat our entire party together one night due to others seating @ our assigned tables. They stated to us it was not a big deal, but our guest that was not able to be seated felt different. The only good thing I can say about this vacation was the staff was amazing. Stateroom staff, never had to asked for anything, I head waiter Joe was everything as well. he made sure everyone was please & the entertainment wasn't too bad but could have been more since we were struck @ sea most of the trip!!!! I don't think I will ever take a cruise with Royal again. They just didn't do us right!!!! The food was not as good in the main dinning area, The Windjammer was great through. My husband & did experience with a customer service desk member as well. Again Don't think I will do a Royal Caribbean cruise again after thinking about all we went through. Nothing in return to soften the blow. Just a big fat I took your money & what are you going to do about it?!!! That's how I have taken the experience on this cruise & ship. Read Less

The only thing I can say good about our cruise is that my teenage boys room steward, Rouston Rodrigues was Amazing. He not only cleaned my teenage boys room, made them animal towels, but interacted with them and my husband and myself throughout every day of our cruise. My husband and I saw our steward, Wilfred (I believe that was his name) only once when we boarded. In the Great Gatsby dining room, Shereen, our waiter and Noemi her assistant waiter always greeted us with a smile and was always courteous and generous with their time. We tipped all three of these employees very generously. We also appreciated that a RC employee was there tomake everyone hand sanitize before entering the Windjammer buffet. Sadly, many cruisers refused the hand sanitizer. Now, for the down side of our family trip. They was very little activitys to do, (for our teenage boys, my husband and myself) activity wise, unless my teenagers wanted to learn to dance the tango, attend wine tasting classes (they are only 14 and 15 yrs old) or play bingo. The rock climbing wall stayed closed throughout the entire cruise, They were told that they were “too young” (they are 14 and 15 yrs old) to workout in the gym and the shuffle board on top of the ship was always, “saved” for other adult cruisers. Both my boys were thrown out of the Solarium 3 times by different RC employees (they were just walking through the solarium to go to the Park Cafe for a snack, as unlike on other cruise lines, RC Grandeur of the Seas does NOT have a variety of food stations/restaurants open 24 hours a day). The food on the entire ship was subpar to mediocre at best. On more occasions than frankly I care to admit, in the Windjammer cafe, I witnessed passengers eating off their plates while still in line, contaminating the food in the buffet trays with their germs and actually verbally fighting and pushing people out of the way to get to the food. It was like nothing I had ever seen before. Finding seating was nearly impossible in the Windjammer Cafe and my family of 4 (when we didn’t eat in the Gatsby dining room) usually had to eat out in the pool area. Speaking of the pool area, the pool was mysteriously closed twice during our cruise and only the hot tubs were available for use. Every cruiser I spoke to was annoyed and going “crazy” watching the big TV screen play the same dog/cat/little boy UTube video over and over and over and over at nauseaum. The same video played over and over for 8 days straight!! The only thing that my teenagers did enjoy was the Karaoke each nite, but unfortunately it was from 10pm to 11:30pm and run by a different RC employee each nite. On 2 occasions, other cruisers rudely told my teenage boys to leave the Pacific showroom where the Karaoke took place. Fortunately, I was there and my teenage sons were allowed to stay and participate. In the casino every day/nite was an extremely intoxicated male cruiser being extremely disrespectful to RC women employees and guests. Making sexual innuendos and being extremely rude, loud and insulting. Not one RC employee said anything to him, “because the cruiser is always right”. After witnessing this behavior for 2 nights, my husband finally said something to him. He became louder and even more aggressive and belligerent. He even told my husband to “step outside so he could teach him a lesson as he was going to whip his ass”. The male passenger was 60-70 yrs of age and my husband is 50 and a Lt. with the Baltimore City fire department. The pit boss finally stepped in and the man was asked to leave. Everyone, RC employees and cruiser alike thanked my husband profusely because they (the employees felt they couldn’t really do or say anything, because they are taught to bend over backwards for the guests) and the other cruisers were shocked and intimidated by this man and were apparently afraid to intervene. Sadly, the very next day and night the same drunk, sexually inappropriate, loud mouthed bully was at it again and allowed to continue that behavior for the rest of the cruise. Many cruisers said they stopped gambling all together or just all together refused to be at the same table with that loud mouth, sexual predator. I have cruised other lines, the last being 4 months ago on Carnival Pride. It’s a smaller ship, but the food was impeccable, the service amazing and there was always an activity and something fun to do, whether you were young, old or somewhere in between. The Pride also has a pizza place (Pizza Pirate) that is open 24 hours a day, along with Guy Ferri burgers and fries and the Blue iguana (Mexican food) along with their massive buffet. On other cruise line, you can get coffee, hot choclate, tea, lemonade and even ice, 24 hours a day or nite without having to call room service. Sadly, RC doesn’t offer these amenities. As for “A perfect day at CoCo Cay”, we were very disappointed. We did have beautiful weather and we were the only ship in port so it was not crowded. My husband did the Pig Island excursion, swam with the pigs and loved it. My teenage boys and I stayed behind on CoCo Cay island. I do NOT understand why RC (who owns COCO Cay island) feels the need to charge their cruisers to pay an extra fee for the “thrill island” side. RC OWNS the island, and as cruisers, we have already paid for the cruise. We didn’t pay extra to go to Naussa, Port Canaveral or Charleston. This is RC just trying to fleece more money off of their cruisers. When my family and I cruised Carnival Pride 4 months ago, we went to Half Moon Cay. (The island that Carnival owns). As cruisers, we were NOT charged for anything on the island that Carnival owns. Food was served at no extra charge, they had a band playing on the beach, and many of their Carnival employees were there interacting with the guests, playing sand and water games and truly getting to know each and every one of us. Even more disappointing and reprehensible is the fact that because we were the only ship at COCO Cay, they kept discounting the “thrill side” of the island from the original excursion price to a mere $10 by 2pm (the ship departed at 6pm) because NO ONE was on the “thrill side” of the island. The cabanas go for up to $300 on the beach. Because we were the only ship in port, people used the cabanas for FREE, while others got stuck having already paid for the $300 cabanas up front. It seems to me, and many of the RC cruisers my husband and I spoke to throughout our 8 day cruise, that RC is just out to make a quick buck and do the bear minimum. On other cruise lines, the mustered drill is 20-30 minutes long at a minimum. Our drill was 5 minutes long (if that) and it was to just electronically buzz everyone’s sail and sign card. They never even showed us how to put on a life jacket! My husband and I were in one room, with our teen age boys next door, yet we were assigned different mustered stations!! The Centrum is absolutely tooooo small as people saved seats and the same people were down there each and every night to listen to the band. Most the cruisers had to watch standing up, leaning on the railings or pull up chairs on the upper railings (all the way to floor 8), to watch and listen from afar. The comedy was awful (we had three comedians on our 8 day cruise). The ship board “broadway show” had to be cancelled because of an illness of one of the RC employees. The show went on the following nite, but it was definitely subpar and many people walked out by the middle of the show. All and all, I have sailed on many cruise lines, and RC is by far the worst. I even had an employee tell me that they really didn’t care about anymore of the Grandeur of the Seas sailings, as a “rich sheik had just purchased the ship for himself and his 158 wives and children and the ship was being sold and retired at the end of the 2019”. That was a very disappointing and upsetting comment to hear. My husband and I were also told that RC was a “step up” in clientele, sophistication, and class. On every other cruise line we have sailed on, formal night meant just that.... dressing up. Apparently NOT on the Grandeur of the Seas. Cruisers were in the main dining room (the Great Gatsby) in SHORTS on both formal nites!!! On any other cruise line, that would not have been allowed and they would have been asked to change. I could continue on, but I think I have made my point regarding our below par family trip on RC. It’s sad when my teenage boys stated once we returned home that they would have rather NOT missed school and 8 days of homework than to have gone on this specific cruise. Feel free to contact me if you have any further questions regarding our subpar vacation. Read Less

I choose this cruise for convenience as I live in Maryland and it was close to my birthday. Me and my girlfriend are both in our 30s and had a great time. Service on ship was excellent wether your talking about the MDR our room stewards etc.. We ate at chops and it was delicious we’re on the other royal ships we have been in. Izumi was also good we have eaten on other ships and then experience there was by far the best. I read a lot about this shop draws a older crowd and I could see that but it might just be when you go and your itinerary. Also read before we went that the shop shuts down at 10 or 11 o’clock which in my experience is also not true. They had live music in the centrum until at least midnight and one of the nights we went to the night club on board and people were still dancing partying etc and it was past 2am. The ship is small and for a young active couple I think 5 or maybe 7 nights max would be the perfect length on this ship as I think any longer I would have started to get board. Bermuda was awesome and beautiful and hopefully will be able to go back soon. Overall I had a great time and at the end of the day your vacation is all about what you make it. Read Less

We chose this cruise as it was the spring break of our soon to be graduating daughter (HS), and it is an easy three hour drive to Baltimore. We have always loved the Port of Baltimore for efficiency and ease! We have been on three Enchantment cruises in the past that we absolutely loved! I did read the reviews of the Grandeur (after booking, unfortunately , and had some concerns that the Grandeur would be different based on hearing it was for "the older" passenger demographic). Hey, I am no spring chicken, so due to proximity, and praying that this is spring break time, there would be something for my daughter to enjoy while making friends. Well, alas, it was not the case. I am not going to "bash" this cruise. We were in room 7078, a balcony with an awesome location! There were many "highs", and we did have fun. John Blair, the Cruise Director and his wife, worked very hard to make everyone's trip a fabulous event. He is an INCREDIBLY talented singer, and his Neil Diamond show was incredible! What a voice! Enjoyed the dancers and singers .... will not lie, I have heard better but also far worse. Good comedians, and overall great entertainment. Our room steward, Cornelius and waiters, AJ and Andy were fabulous! Dinners very good; not the best, but considering the number of guests they are feeding? We did not buy tickets for the upscale restaurants, but I heard a variety of reviews. I guess I just feel that you are already paying a significant cost, so the "push" for upscale meals is trying. There is seemingly never ending marketing for additional revenue; that is for sure! You can get some good buys, but many are overpriced or simply "junk". We did buy a Citizen watch. 35% off, but the retail price stated was less than looking the same one up on line. We usually play bingo .... did not even go as we heard it was $40 to play! The casino??? Horrible!!!! Never ending losses, machines a joke, and how the dealers keep pulling 21's is remarkable, to say the least. On previous cruises, they at least give you a free drink when losing your shirt; no longer happening! All in all, I would rate this cruise a 3.5. We did have a great time, met great people, and had lovely men and women working hard in their jobs to serve us. We were blessed with beautiful weather, and relatively calm seas. The Grandeur apparently has a huge following, and we now know it is geared for an "older" geographic population that enjoys smaller ships and is not focused on her "older" appearance with fewer activities. Not sure how long she will continue to be in service ...... but perhaps they need to take that into account when establishing pricing. Again, we did enjoy the trip ...... just trying to give an accurate evaluation of what to expect so there is no disappointment or regrets for your choice. Read Less

A little history first my wife and I have been on at least 15 previous cruises with Disney, Celebrity, Princess,NCL and bulk with RC. We live outside of Philly so it is almost the same drive time to NY, Bayonne, and Baltimore. We prefer to sail out of any of the FL ports, quicker in the warm weather. Love to cruise in the winter months to escape the cold for a while. We already knew a little about the Grandeur being a older smaller ship but we like the smaller ships we love the Enchantment and seriously wish for its return to Baltimore those 72 extra feet are well worth it. Boarding was very easy as was disembarkation not a whole lot of the ship to see so we did lunch and went up to the Solarium which also was serving lunch a great place to have a light lunch we learned on the next 4 sea days would highly recommend. Down to our cabin 4026 which was "seriously" decorated for our 45th wedding anniversary which was done with out my knowledge but greatly appreciated wine, door decorations, wall hangings, pillow case's, beach towel, amazing. Met our room steward Abu.the best we have ever had and very happy to have had him. Room was plenty big when the bed was separated but the beds were extremely tough not very comfortable my Navy rack was better Abu managed to make the wife's a little better because we heard that they have some extra padding, this is one issue, but decor is nice. We had a ocean view large window but it was almost not worth it dirt/salt/age made it not so great to see out of. Dinning was the average with RC very good to just OK Chops GREAT Giovanni's Table wont do again and not worth it in our minds almost rushed there and food was less Italian than expected but staff in both were excellent and friendly. Don't like My Time Dinning at all because we like to build up a relationship with our servers and we had the same two for almost 7 nights but the guys who seats you captain/maitre d found it hard to seat us in their section if you came after 5:15 but left a table by the window empty on 3 separate nights for our whole meal while we were sitting next to a pole. But he did accommodate people that kissed his but and pressed some green in his hand, and I don't play that game till the end and he got nothing extra at all. Our servers were excellent as was almost all the staff we encountered, especially the morning staff in the Windjammer superb. Hardly anything to do during sea days that attracted us much. Pool deck was ok but the "large" screen showings were run and rerun to death and the middle of the screenwent black and not repaired for the last sea days like they didn't care. Cruise director and his staff we very nice and great energy and very good shows but almost the same on all RC ships. The theater shows were pretty good overall with the juggler being our favorite. The itinerary was what interested us the most. Have never been to Saint Lucia and the rest were islands we have been to before and loved so it was an easy choice and the price. Train Ride in St Kitts have to do it once we did it twice now and love it, Beach Excursions in Antigua and St Martin both worth it did our own thing in Saint Lucia 6 1/2 hour tour to see the Pitons with Gousel Tours would highly recommend. Saint Croix did the red fort tour on our own and walked around town not much to see in Frederiksted. Now why I wouldn't sail on her again till they get her fixed besides the rust and gunk on the windows and general rust on the hull the smell of the ship is rather disturbing in the bathroom was horrific till the wife out in one of the two Yankee Candle air freshers she was warned to bring even the outside of the ship while waiting for excursion smelled like a toilet bowl started calling it the Depends Of The Saes and other noted it also but has not been addressed. It was to go into drydock for two weeks but it should stay there much longer to take care of major issues the old girl need a major overhaul not carpets and refresh of the paint. The Centrum deck 4 port side had a fan blowing the carpet dry the entire cruise what is that about. The shope onboard were small and had very little to offer even RC merchandise lost money from us the wife can spend for sure. Last thing negative I have and it is a minor issue we bought post cards in every port to send home to our granddaughters because all kids like getting mail spent $1.05 per stamp to have them sent out and you know where they were sent out from Baltimore when we got home little bit of fraud there RC wwas told the mail was picked up every day in port. Overall buyer be ware! Just to be sure we have booked and other RC out of NY for 2020 even though the perks are getting worse and worse and they are nickle and dimming us to death. Read Less

We chose this ship primarily because of the cheaper cost, itinerary. (St Croix) and port of departure. We own property on St Croix and wanted to visit to take care of a little business as well as see friends and have a vacation in the mean time. Price: This cruise was cheaper than getting to JFK, flying to STX, renting a car for a week, renting a cottage for a week and handling all our food expenses. I think the location as well as price attracts many repeat cruisers. We found people who had been on the ship 33 times! 3-6 times was fairly common. Also, as others have said, it is an old crowd with many diamond members. Crew: They are excellent. Every one of them. Can't say enough nice things about the wait staff, room attendants, customer service etc. They get to know you quickly, like to kid around and talk and always took good care of us. Passengers: Much older crowd with very few kids. That's ok because they tend to be a laid back, smart, experienced crowd that are fun to meet. Maybe it's the mid-west and mid-atlantic vibe due to the departure location but almost everybody is very friendly. Some folks practically live on this ship. Activities: It's an older ship and doesn't have a lot of activities, especially in the evenings. That's ok with us. We are 60 & 64. We don't need DJ blasting pool parties. If we really want to see a Broadway show we'll take a train to Broadway. A little more entertainment and more outdoor dance options like an afternoon pool party would be nice. They did have a fun 70's night but most dances seemed to cater to an older crowd of very well practiced dancers doing waltzes, cha-cha's and even tangos. That left us feeling a bit left out but the showy dancers are still friendly. Most dancing takes place in the Centrum which is ringed with seats for 3 levels and open all the way from decks 4 through 8. It was nice to be able to walk down the hall from our deck 8 room and look down & check out what is going on. We enjoyed "enrichment" watercolor painting with Rosemary and her hubby. They are a lot of fun. Also the after 9 PM piano singalongs in the schooner bar with Russ were fun. What shows they did have were fun with comedians, singers and a jazz sax player. My wife saw the cruise director put a great Neil Diamond tribute. I was at a wine tasting at the time. Ports: We did a 12 night Eastern Caribbean run and the ports are were very good. St Croix, Antigua, St. Lucia, St. Kitts and St. Martin. We mostly did 3rd party tours. We had one RCL excursion on St Lucia; a catamaran ride for sightseeing, swimming at a bay and then viewing the Pitons. The crew on the cat was a blast and very knowledgeable. On/off was super easy as the cat was docked right in front of our ship at the port. Cabins: I said that we went cheap. We were in an interior room. It was 136 sq feet. It was tight getting in & out of bed but otherwise very serviceable with plenty of cubbies to put stuff. Others have said that suitcases don't fit under the bed. We solved that by leaving then open so they slid under, but that limits how many you can fit. I suggest bring bags that nest inside each other when empty like Russian Dolls. Bottom line: if you like an older crowd and are looking for a laid back relaxing ship this fits the bill. We would defiantly go again if we were still going be nearby the departure point. Read Less

Everything went very smoothly ! Our 30 year old son and his gf were with us and they had a wonderful time even though most of the guests are elderly . Can't wait to sail on her again ! Our room attendant Ida was great . Also loved our waitstaff Johannes Salmen and Erhon. We always ate in the dining room . Didn't step one foot into the windjammer. The food was excellent ! We enjoyed being waited on so always went to main dining room ! Will definitely sail with royal Caribbean again ! Loved that we could just drive to the terminal in 2 and half hours. Stayed at a hotel for one night and they supplied a shuttle to the port and left our car in their parking lot till we returned. Read Less

Great value for all it offers. The entertainment is really good. The crew as well as the guests are some of the friendliest at sea. Love the smaller ship atmosphere. The Great Gatsby Dining Room is staffed by great waiters and is elegant in decor. The CD on this particular cruise was Mike (Polish name) and he was awesome. Our room was very clean and very nice, but wish the beds were higher to slide our luggage under. I still wish they had better hair dryers. I also feel that they should make the showtimes 7:30 and 9:30 instead of 7 and 9. We always seem to be rushed through early dining to get to the first show and even if we make it seats are pretty much gone by the times we finish dessert. We rarely can stay up for the later show as we have busy days and tire easily. Read Less

This ship has one the highest return rates in the RC fleet. The A++ service is just one reason. The activities and entertainment are superior. Fellow passengers are friendly. My wife and I traveled alone, but we easily made friends. Our cabin had plenty of room. Food quality was not always perfect. The breakfast and lunch at either the main dining room or the buffet was almost always praiseworthy. The lunch salad bar at the main dining room is not to be missed. The ham at the breakfast buffet melts in your mouth. The quality of entrees at dinner missed my high expectations. All "Fish of the Day" were frozen. The pork tended to be tough; I had to pray for a steak knife to cut a chop. Chicken breasts needed more marinating. On the other hand, the beef dishes were outstanding. My wife gave pasta dishes a high mark. Drink prices are very high and then RC adds an automatic 18% gratuity tax on your bill. Sailing out of Baltimore gives mid-Atlantic cruisers a real cost saving, rather than flying to and from Florida. Read Less

Also disembarkation was so easy and smooth. My dad is handicapped and we had no issues at the ports except one which was bar harbor, because there were tenders. But a great trip overall. My family and i enjoyed thoroughly! The kids enjoyed also. We took a 1 and 2 year old. I had my concerns about safety originally because they are so active. However, that proved to be unnecessary worry as there were no hiccups. As soon as we boarded, my mind was immediately at ease. Kids enjoyed their time, in and out of the pool also. Lifeguards always in duty. I could be worry free. Great food! Great service! Great staff! Great trip! Loved and enjoyed soooo much! Read Less

We chose this cruise for the ports in New England. We had not been to this area of our country and wanted to see several with the bonus of Canada. The ship is nice and entertainment was great. I would have liked to see more arts and crafts besides scrapbooking ?? because I do not gamble. 9 days is a long cruise so we need more entertainment during day time for the arts. Room was comfortable and staff at bars, restaurants, and spa are fantastic. The menu for gluten free folks is basically the original menu without gravies, sauces, and breadcrumbs....so a bit bland but I still managed to gain some weight. hahahaha Evening entertainment and Dancing was awesome. The DJ was great. We really enjoyed ourselves. Our favorite port is Bar Harbor and recommend the Pedego bicycles and you must do the loop road in Acadia National park.....fantastic! Please indulge in some lobster and blueberry pie....I didn't get pie but I heard some ooos and ahhhs with each order. Read Less

Pros: Awesome experience for our first RCL cruise. Service, food, accomodations, staff and ports of call were excellent and would highly recommend. Arranging shore excursions was easy. Those excursions and guides were extremely knowledgeable about their content. Entertainment /shows was "top shelf". We chose this cruise for two reasons: first, our 44th wedding anniversary and second because it was going north in cooler waters and a cooler daily temperature. Had some rain enroute but had no impact of our plans or excursions. Boarding and diembaration was the easiest and most organized of any cruise we have been on. RCL can stick a feather in their hat for such planning and organization! Cons: Avoid their internet. Very pricy and a hassle to logon and stay on. Once connected, it drops signal. In addition, slower than dial up (1200 baud) phone modem. Ship needs to add an "app" for daily acitivity with a reliable internet. Read Less

My husband and I are “empty nesters” now, so we decided to treat ourselves to a cruise. We chose Royal Caribbean because we had cruised with them once before and had enjoyed it. This cruise did not disappoint. It was smaller than the ship we sailed on last time, so there weren’t quite as many activities, but we had plenty to do for the five days of the cruise, considering the fact that almost two days we were able to go ashore. (We went to Bermuda.) What struck us the most was how friendly and helpful all of the staff were. The food was amazing as well... consequently, we indulged far too much! We didn’t love the musical productions, so we ended up going to the Casino instead. Our favorite activity was the trivia games in the Schooner Bar. We teamed up with other people there, which was a fun way to meet other cruisers. We chose to get a suite and were very happy we did. The room was comfortable and reasonably spacious, with an awesome private balcony. Again, the staff went out of their way to get us anything we asked for. We have already decided to take another cruise on Royal Caribbean next summer. Can’t wait! Read Less

The cabins were very clean the rugs wear old but in good shape the same for the furnishings. The embarkation and disembarking at Baltimore pier was the most efficient that we ever experienced in a long time. We wish that all Royal Caribbean port of call was as efficient as this port. When it comes to ports and shore excursions we believe some of there prices are to high depending on distance form the ship duration of excursion and type of excursion . we found that if we just take a cab to your were you want to go it casts about one quarter of what the ship charges if you leave a enough time you will be back in plenty of time before the ship sails. Staff was amazing, Steve was a magician our room was always clean. Traveled with family who is vegan and they had amazing vegan options in the windjammer. Grant in the Dining Hall made sure there were vegan options for my uncles. The beds were comfortable, we had an ocean view room. I did experience some sea sickness and the "hospital" on the ship did provide medication for that. There were always newer movies being played and the Palladium Theater was my go-to spot. The DJ in the club could have a better variation of music. I went to the "club" about 6 or 7 days out of the 9 day cruise and the music was often repeated. Overall the cruise was wonderful and I plan to go on another cruise in a year or 2 with friends and possibly a bigger ship. The shops were great and everyday was a new adventure. Read Less

We picked this ship because of the itinerary and loved the ports. However, the ship was average. Average food, entertainment, cruise director and activity staff. Another problem I had with this ship was that they put the ping pong tables so close to the smoking section of the deck. Who wants to smell smoke when they are playing ping pong? My teen sons loved the teen room. We booked excursions that were not connected to RCCL and saved money. We had a tight schedule in St. John and our private tour guide told us if we actually missed the ship, he would drive us to the next port of Halifax. We made it back in plenty of time and had an amazing time at the Fundy Trail. We flew into Washington DC and spent a couple of days there before the cruise and stayed an extra day in Baltimore at the end. Coming from FL, we enjoyed the cooler weather and got to see a lot before and after the cruise in those two big cities. Read Less

Love the Grandeur and this itinerary. The crew is the friendliest and most amazing group of people. They all do everything they can to make sure that the guests are happy. The guests all seem like they are having a great time. The pianist in the Schooner bar was great. Rookie did a wonderful performance. Even the new cruisers were having a great time. They tried to do some awesome activities and parties. This is a ship that you want to be on and sail many times . The Captain is awesome and seen often about the ship. He goes to the Wind jammer like everyone else This ship is the friendliest with an amazing crew. They are dedicated professionals. They are committed to making the cruise perfect for every one. This is a wonderful cruising experience. I would heartily recommend.. There is a very high number of passengers returning to the Grandeur for a great cruise! Read Less

The positives abound: Great to leave out of Baltimore and have a "Goldilocks" cruise experience - Everything was "just right" - not too long/short at sea, in port, excursion times, bar prices, the lot. All the staff WITHOUT EXCEPTION were friendly and supportive. Amazingly, even the kids cruising were all well-behaved. Will not be our last cruise with this line. Casino notes: Low-limit blackjack pays 6:5 vice 3:2 with no double down after split, cannot get even money on blackjack. More experienced players will play $25 tables with 3:2 blackjack payouts OR play single deck late at night if few are around. Good mix of slots, small area also exists for non smoking players. Roulette was great! $5 bet minimum on 1:1 and 2:1 outside spots, $5 minimum inside on numbers at $1 chip levels. Can play all day at $5 or $10 per spin. $2 mimosa specials at 10 AM. Next time I will play in a tournament. The Bermuda Dollar is on par with the US Dollar. Great "tip" to become memorable: We had fun bringing $200 in crisp new $2 bills and spending them whenever possible, including tipping the staff and excursion driver. Special need meals are more than just the obvious. I found I could have had Indian cuisine as a sit-down dinner option had I asked (no, I am not Indian but like the food). We even skipped a plated meal to take advantage of "Indian night". A wide variety of foods at Windjammer to meet the American, European and Asian palates. All rolls and donuts made fresh daily. Only one "complaint" made to the staff: There was insufficient handicapped tables and seating in the Windjammer. We made the restaurant manager aware of this and hopefully this will be addressed, otherwise next time we will just take the meal on deck and sit at the outside table (weather permitting". Read Less

My sister and I needed a short vacation away together so we booked this cruise from Baltimore, only a 3 hr. Drive from home. We have been on other cruises in the past with friends and family but this was just a "sister cruise". From start to finish, I can't say enough about the wonderful service on this ship. I can't imagine being away from my family for 5-6 months at a time and still smile every day to all the customers. SUCH HARD WORKERS with little time off. People say that this is an "old ship with old people". This is not true! We saw people from 1-93 on this cruise. The 93 yr old lady was playing the piano in the Schooler Bar on the last night. What a treat to watch her play the piano. Just shows that you are never too old to enjoy life! Our wait staff in the man dining room was so sweet, Gener and Imade Ari! Yes they do get paid for their service but they also deserve a little extra tip for going the extra step. The food was tasty and I loved the salad bar at lunch in the main dining room where they mixed it all up for you! Wonderful! Our room steward was also great! She always greeted us with a smile and was eager to please us during our stay. Now the fun part. We meet some folks in the casino that were so cool! We spend a lot of time playing black jack and shouting "EVERYBODY WINS! When the dealer busted. Wow, we laughed and totally enjoyed ourselves. My sister even won the slot tournament for $500.00. Bermuda was fantastic! Warm but windy for 2 days.Booked the excursion for snorkeling and loved it. We didn't get to the beach but that's ok. Overall this was a great cruise and we would not hesitate to book again on Lady G. She is wonderful! Read Less

Everything about the cruise overall was great, as it always is on Royal Caribbean. The food in the main dining hall was excellent as was the waiter and his assistant. Entertainment was very good. The singers, dancers and band were exceptional. The entertainmant director (Mike) did a very fine job in handling everything. I was extremely happy the way they saluted all veterans, police and first responders. I am a veteran and proud of it and it felt very good to be recognized! The only "downers" were the hard seas from Baltimore to Bermuda due to weather (which even Royal Caribbean could not control), and the amount of time in port . A five day cruise does not give enough time to see much of Bermuda's sites and history and spend some time relaxing at the pool or other shipboard activities. This was the fastest embarkation service of all our cruises taken. We will be scheduling a longer cruise to the Bahamas in January. Read Less

My husband, myself and another couple took this cruise so we could drive to the Baltimore port 20 minutes from where we live. The port is easy to navigate and embark and disembark. As most other cruisers we went directly to the Windjammer for lunch upon boarding, was crowded but manageable. The crew was quick and frequent to offer drinks and take away used plates and beverages. Always with a smile. The central public area of the ship is the Centrum which has several decks of seating and beverage service with a view below to the promenade for shows and live music. We had an ocean view cabin which was suitable for 2 people, ample storage and very comfortable bed and pillows. It was oddly soundproof as we never heard any noise from neighbors or hallway traffic. We had dinner in the Great Gatsby each dinner and received superior service by Dexter and Robert. Always asked if we needed anything more and was always asked by the Captain how the dinner tasted. We left our waiters with hugs on our last evening. The Cruise Director, Mike, was exceptional in talent, humor and keeping the crowds engaged. He really made the cruise entertaining. Throughout the cruise when traversing from activity to activity we were politely asked if we would like a beverage and the crew was quick to answer or attend to any needs we requested. Always with a smile. Upon reaching Bermuda we took a taxi to Horseshoe Bay and enjoyed walking in the water and taking pictures, we took a bus back to port. $7.00 per person for both taxi and bus. We would gladly take another cruise on Lady G, hoping Mike would still be the CD and hopefully have Dexter and Robert as our waiters. A most impressive and professional crew that always had a smile. This was my first cruise and my anxiety was high. It disappeared as soon as I got on board. The staff was incredible. Cruise Director Mike clearly works his tail off to provide great entertainment for everyone. Wait staff at bars remembered my name whenever they saw me. The room was bigger than expected. Lovely vanity for getting ready and a couch for any visitors. The bed was very firm as were the pillows, but honestly I didn’t care by night 2. We had very rough and rocky seas the 2nd day. People were ill in main areas but the staff took immediate care and made sure everyone was detoured around them. Drinks were amazing and alcohol content was on point. No skimping. Raul, our sever at the 11th floor bar, was a hoot. He remembered my name outside of the bar, helped me down steps, and had inside jokes with others in our party. Shows were great. We had a phenomenal 70s show that we happened upon. So much fun! I highly recommend the game shows. We saw two Jeopardy shows and Love and Marriage. Both were hilarious. Again, this was all due to our Cruise Director. He was quick witted, remembered what contestants said later in the games and referenced it. I was highly impressed. Food was plentiful. The main dining food wasn’t as good as expected (don’t get fried chicken or corn on the cob there). I wish I could have just eaten at the buffet for dinner but everyone in my party wanted to eat together at 8pm. This meant missing some shows which was disappointing. Next time I may ditch people to do what I want. I laughed my entire trip and am now a cruiser for life. I miss the staff tremendously. I’m in mourning. They really felt like family. Read Less

The embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly. The ship was so clean, someone was always cleaning something. Our cabin was always clean and towels always replaced. Every night, coming to our room, we were met with a different animal on our bed.The dining was superb and the service was impeccable. They would always ask if everything is good and did we need, anything else. Always keeping our water and beverage filled. The entertainment was top notch. In the Windjammer their was such a variety of food and the food was very good and tasty. We had a superb show every night. Sometimes we went to both shows, we enjoyed them so much. The last cruise we were on was a bigger ship, but we did enjoy the smaller ship. This was our first Royal Caribbean cruise. We will come back on Royal Caribbean cruise lines again. All in all, I have to give the whole experience on the "Grandeur of the seas" a pleasant and enjoyable cruise vacation. I want to make mention of our two waiters that took care of us in the Great Gatspy. We were at table 514 and our waiters were (head waiter) Virgilio Jr from the Phillipines and (asst waiter) Safii from Indonesia. We were on My Time at 5:00 on deck 5. Read Less

All aspects of this cruise were GREAT. The Cruise director was the best we had ever encountered. Here are the negatives........ Spa attendants were VERY condescending, the ONLY member of that spa team that was nice and helpful was the tall young male that worked there. The Casino could have been a better experience only because it was seriously UNDERstaffed. No change machines and not enough cashiers. (only ONE!!! at any given time) The Art auction was horrible. We bought 3 works of Art on our last cruise (Anthem) and NONE on this one. (Grandeur) It was soooo high pressure, and the ladies were SO incredibly FAKE. You can tell when someone is being friendly in a fake way and this was BLATANT. Dining, entertainment, cabin service, the ease of getting around this ship and the ports of call made this a great cruise. Everything else about this cruise was wonderful except those two areas mentioned above. Read Less
