The reason we choose this cruise ship was out of convenience. We live in Pennsylvania so it saved flight costs to drive to Baltimore. What we did not realize is that 80 percent of the cruise passengers were 70-90 year old's. They mostly were using canes, walkers, wheelchairs, scooters and many brought their oxygen tanks along. The reason is most of them could not fly in an airplane so this ...
This is not our 1st cruise. My friend and I have sailed on several different cruise lines. We chose this cruise and this ship for 1 reason only convenience. We knew it was an older ship but supposedly it was refurbished in 24012. Lets start at the beginning before we even got on the ship. We paid for a large cabin. You can imagine our surprise when we entered the cabin and found out that our large ...
Day 1. Arrived at room and beds were not made, no towels. Talked to front desk said that they would get it resolved within the hour--4.5 hours later they did. However, still no soap, shampoo. Unbelievable! Second day, same thing occurred. I stopped keeping tabs on this. Finally met cabin steward on the 3rd day. Unacceptable.
The ship was booked to capacity, The Ice Cream machine constantly ...
Love to cruise this was to be our 12th. cruise (not all with Royal Caribbean) and we were excited. met a lot of wonderful people and the crew did all they could to make everyone happy on this aging ship.
ship had had been updated and several noted changes were done in poor taste. Namely the sink in the individual cabins. The new sinks that were installed were what I would call cereal bowl sinks. ...
We are not new to cruising, this was our 18th cruise, the second on RCL the first was on the Voyager. Cruising from Baltimore was very convenient. A hotel nearby allowed us to park there for the duration of the cruise and provided transportation to and from the pier. The cost of which was 1 night stay.
Embarkation was fairly easy albeit a bit crowded. Of course we had to go to the Windjamer ...
This was our first RC cruise, after hearing glowing reviews from so many. After booking, when reading these reviews I tried to take everything with a grain of salt since we all expect different things on vacation.
As for background, my husband and I are in our 30s and travel extensively, but by no means luxuriously. We don't expect a lot as far as extravagant amenities. We like clean, comfortable ...
This was my ninth cruise but first on Royal Caribbean. The good items first. Embarkation in Baltimore was smooth and easy to follow. We stayed at the Sleep Inn and left our car there for the duration of the cruise. Nice hotel and the charge for leaving our car (including shuttle to/from port) was less than parking at the terminal. We had forward ocean view (port holes) on deck two. Cabin was clean ...
Sailed out on November 11, 2014 down to Labadee, PR, St. Thomas and St. Maarten for a 10 day cruise. The weather and seas were terrific. Smooth silky waters both ways and great beautiful weather. But that is where things stopped being terrific. The food and service on this cruise was horrendous. I don't blame the crew as they are only doing their jobs and working with what they have. RCL needs to ...
My husband and I just got off our honeymoon cruise on Grandeur of the Seas. We're both experienced cruisers with Diamond status on RCCL. We'd never sailed out of Baltimore before. I didn't keep day-to-day notes, so let's do things by topic instead:
BALTIMORE PORT/EMBARKATION:
Small but effective. This was by far the least busy port I've ever embarked at. It hosts only two cruise ships, if I ...
This could have been a nice cruise. Overall I would call it good - not great.
My only prior experience cruising was Carnival's Glory to Western Caribbean. It was better in many ways.
The ship had one major problem. Too many children and especially too many wild - unsupervised often troublemaking teens and pre-teens.
I don't mind the kids. I brought mine (7 and 9) and they enjoyed it. But the ...
