I had a handicapped cabin for the first time on Grandeur. The door does not need to have someone hold it open so I can get through- unlike regular cabin doors, it stays open when you open it until you close it. It does not slam on me while I am going through on the scooter. The scooter fits perfectly between the twin bed night tables and the cord to charge it reaches across behind my pillows. I think there are bunk beds in the ceiling, as there are two ladders in the closet. There is a safe in the closet. There is a lot of storage if there are only two people in the cabin. The beds were low and so to store suitcases under them I had to pick up the bed and have my sister slide the suitcase under it. We have a window (although it is dirty) and we are pretty close to the water since we are on deck 2. There is a small refrigerator, and the bathroom is large enough for a roll-in shower and a nice seat, but there is no place for me to put anything next to the toilet. By accident I have twice set off the alarm that they have in the handicapped cabin because the little thread that you pull is right behind my bed. Once I was rearranging the pillows and once I reached behind my head while I was lying down to turn on the light without looking. Barbara wondered how they could get in if the cabin was locked. When I looked I saw that there was a keyhole in the door. Read Less

At night, we could hear music from the Centrum fairly loudly, although that ends at 11 pm. If that bothers you, recommend staying more towards the aft end of the ship. Bathrooms are small but they made great use of space. Shower is a bit small and has a curtain vice the door on newer ships, but even still...I had no issue with the shower size. Toilets worked fine throughout the ship. Room steward Juana was great though she was that elf you hear about (you rarely see her, but you come back and your bathroom is clean and bed is made...). We chose this room as it had bunk beds that came out of the ceiling. Frankly, it was a perfect room based on it's location. Just around the corner from the elevator - never heard it. You could zip up to the Windjammer, kids corner, etc. real quickly. We were very pleased with the LOCATION of the room. The room itself? It's tired. Clean, but tired. The bathroom is fine, but the shower curtains are gross. Bring a splitter for power in the room. There are not nearly enough outlets in the rooms. You can get suitcases under the bed for storage, which is nice. Read Less
