My criticisms are mostly to do with all of the hassles prior to the cruise, plus of course the unilateral policy changes after I had already bought my ticket.

I chose this cruise due to what seemed like a great price without the 100% single supplement that Princess usually charges. My cruise was 14 nights in duration, not 7 nights, so leaving Vancouver and returning home at the end. My criticisms are mostly to do with all of the hassles prior to the cruise, plus of course the unilateral policy changes after I had already bought my ticket. It seems as ...

PRINCESS KEEPS GOING DOWN

I recently went on an Alaska cruise tour, 7 day cruise with a 4 day land tour, Princess is cutting corners, from the selection and quality of their food to adding bogus charges on your account. They have a big sign on your door to swipe your medallion and win prizes. What they fail to mention is if you swipe your medallion you get a $50 casino charge on your account. The food in the main dining ...

Don't see what the hype is

This was our 1st cruise and likely last! Our trip started and ended on less than pleasant vibe and for the $8k spent, I don't see why people cruise! We left out of Vancouver BC where 3 other ships were departing which means thousands of people to process in security so 4 hrs were spent in zigzag line. We were thirsty (no water source the entire time) and starving so we tried out the ...

Cruising with the Princess and Covid in Australia in 2022. What a bit of pressure can do to your better judgement. Our cruise in February 2020 was terminated at the halfway point because of the then developing Covid crisis. Princess were generous in giving us credit for future bookings along with some bonuses. This then happened multiple times as the time frames extended and were cancelled ...

Tired old ship. Not particularly inspiring. Frustrating online services and administration.

Apologies for the lengthy diatribe but context is all. Booked for this trip two years ago but was cancelled due to covid. Had the option for refund, cruise credit or go on same trip Melb to Melb on the 4th of November. Chose to go on same trip as birthday was on 3rd November. A choice we came to regret bitterly. Should have opted for cruise credit. Today’s date is Monday the "14th ...

We had taken an Alaskan cruise on Princess back in 2019 and wanted to take our grown children and their spouses on one because it was so wonderful. I had shared all my excitement with our kids and talked them into trying a Princess Cruise. I was embarrassed as to how this cruise came nowhere near lining up in any way with what I had promised them based on our previous one. Don't know if I'll take ...

Great scenery and trip but the ship was subpar

We took a cruise from Whittier, AK to Vancouver. Loved the scenery throughout the trip and being able to travel through Glacier Bay. Going to Glacier Bay and our scheduling window was the primary reason we chose the Grand Princess instead of a Royal Caribbean ship. The Grand Princess felt very old overall. They had "upgraded" our room to a rear balcony instead of the port side room we had booked ...

The new "Medallion" tool is awful and there is no alternative offered to this horror

We chose this itinerary for the seadays involved in getting to and from HI. We'd also had nice experiences with Princess pre-pandemic so we opted for them again. While we were in lockdown, Princess spent two years developing an onboard network tool called Medallion. It's a device, the medallion they issue you on boarding to wear on your person, and it's a network for interfacing with ...

Old and tired

The staff was wonderful, the room was spacious and clean but that is where it ends. The ship is old and broken down, an empty pool, the spas were broken and cold more often than not, the sauna worked some days and not others. The buffet food was horrible, and cold. You could get cold fried eggs or cold scrambled eggs but if you want warm eggs you had to pick the hard boiled eggs. The dessert ...

We chose this cruise to celebrate our 25th anniversary. The cruise went as expected with a lot Princess had to offer watered down or non-existent due to Covid ad supply chain issues. These were known going in so I wont elaborate further. That said, Princess, or namely the staff and crew of Grand Princess was adequate, at best. The ship made the trip without any major problems. The cabin had ...
