Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Grand Princess

First of all this is actually 2 back to back 7 day cruises not 1ea 14 day cruise as is sold. This equates to being at sea for a large amount of the time because the ship has to return to Ft Lauderdale in order to disembark some passengers and the taking on of new passengers for which ever leg of the trip that will start anew. Alone that's a 2 day at sea trip coming and going (4 days). Now add on ...

This was our 6th Princess cruise & overall was pretty good. Our cabin on Baha deck was smaller than many others we've had, but perfectly adequate, plenty of storage, but oh dear, they need to upgrade the bathrooms & get rid of the shower curtain! The Balcony also showed signs of wear & tear, however it was very clean & our steward Pepito was so hard working, nothing was to much trouble. The ...

Just getting back from a 14 day back to back Cruise on the Grand Princess. My husband and I have been cruising for about 9 years now and find it an amazing and relaxing experience. We don't expect much so we are never disappointed at anything that happens. Even though it rained this time in Aruba we still enjoyed our day. We went to a Museum which is one of the things we like to do. We have ...

We flew in the night before and stayed at the Holiday Inn Cruise and Convention Centre. The hotel was very nice - modern and clean. We walked across the street and had supper at BIMINI BOATYARD BAR. We love seafood and this place had great seafood. We were able to sit outside looking out on a little marina. The service was a little slow but it was busy. We opted to take a cab to the cruise ...

We have only cruised with Princess. This was our 11th cruise. We have always said that if it rained everyday on our vacation, oh well. At least we were not working or shoveling snow! We have always enjoyed our cruises. No vacation is perfect. But I have to say this was NOT that good. And we have been on the Grand before, but it sure wasn't nothing like this pass cruise. Rating is 1-5, 5 being the ...

Just got back yesterday from a relaxing trip aboard the Grand Princess. The ship: beautiful interior, well- appointed and exceptionally clean. We have been on some bigger ships with slightly better amenities that come on the newer mega ships, but this ship is very nice. Service: Overall service was excellent. My only complaint was bar service was very slow during peak times. They named to ...

Happy New Year We sailed on the Grand Princess 7 day New years cruise, departing Fort Lauderdale Fl ( where we live ) Dec 29th. Coming off of the ship,I wondered if I would cruise princess again. The ship itself is pretty but certainly in the old style, even though it had been recently updated. The first thing I noticed upon entrance to our cabin is how small it was, now I know we don"t spend ...

We have returned, recently, from a 14 days cruise on Grand Princess (Dec 22, 2012- Jan 5, 2013). The itinerary was split in two (seven days each). First one was Fort Lauderdale, Puerto Rico, San Martin, San Thomas, Princess Cays and second one Fort Lauderdale, Aruba, Curacao, Princess Cays. It was our first time on a Christmas & New Year cruise and we were very happy that we have been on it. The ...

Our 2012 annual vacation cruise

For the past 6 years we have cruised with 3 different cruise lines, twice each with Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, and Princess. Princess has the smallest accessible rooms of the 3, although the Grand was adequate. I was not overly thrilled with this year's 2012 vacation. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: really nice ship, plenty of shopping, albeit expensive, nice swimming pools, whirlpools, and ...

Grand Princess Buffet Food Was Just Awful

This was our 7th cruise; 2 on Norwegian and 5 on Princess. We primarily eat at the buffets do to the variety, speed and informal dress codes; so my comments apply primarily to the Horizon Buffet. The food consistently varied from weird to strange and was generally awful. It was by far the worst food we had ever found on any cruise ship. Desserts and breakfast were "ok", but lunch and dinner ...
