my first cruise was on the grand princess in 2009 since then I have cruised six times mostly with royal Caribbean.
the grand had under gone a make over since my first cruise it was ok but not spectacular
the main thing that stuck out was the lack of hygiene,
on rci you cannot move for handwash stations and staff encouraging you to wash your hands, when boarding the ship and entering food area ...
Embarkation at Southampton To be honest it was not a great start to the cruise we had to wait 90 minutes to embark on the ship. The reason was a coastguard safety check which we could see from the terminal. Although it was a pain to be kept waiting we were lucky as some people with later check ins were there for 3 hours!
The cabin
Although princess said it was a twin room and could not be ...
Embarkation
This was the area where we were very impressed. We were unsure about staggered boarding but it obviously works. We arrived at the terminal at 12:55 and were sitting in our cabin at 13:10 which was the quickest time we have ever boarded a ship.
Cabin
As this was a short cruise we were not too bothered about which cabin we had and settled on E208 on Emerald deck. This is one of 4 ...
This was the first cruise with Princess and we sailed on the Grand from Southampton to Guernsey and then on to Le Havre and back to Southampton. It was a quick 3 night break.
Boarding was organised and quick and our suitcase was waiting at the cabin when we arrived. We were originally given a staggered boarding time of 12:30 but when we arrived at the check in they were simply accepting people ...
Sorry for the longish review but hopefully some info will help decisions of future cruisers onboard Grand Princess. We have just returned last weekend from our Western Med cruise. Our party consisted of 17 of us who travelled as a family for our son's wedding which took place on September 23rd .Ages ranged from our sons one year old baby to my wife's parents who are sprightly Octogenarians. 7 of ...
We picked this 7 day break to get a taste of Scandinavia as we had not visited Denmark, Sweden or Norway before although we had been on the Grand Princess before.
The suite was beautifully situated on the aft corner of the ship so we had amazing views all week and were able to experience ultimate balcony dining in a great setting-although in hindisght I would recommend a warmer climate than ...
My family have most recently cruised with Royal Caribbean, and NCL which we enjoyed. I had heard good things about Princess Cruises and we enjoyed this cruise overall but there were aspects that could be improved to make it a better experience.
Parking at the port was very easy. Although we waited a short while for a space, it was painless. This was our first ex UK cruise and if you are willing ...
This was my first cruise and I chose Princess after a lot of research, specifically regarding facilities for disabled guests, as I have to use a wheelchair full time. My family party consisted of ages ranging between 11 and 73.
We travelled from Yorkshire, 250 miles to Southampton by private taxi on the morning of the cruise, arriving just in time for our specified check-in. There was a lot of ...
We picked up the eavesway coach from the services, put bags on coach and never saw them again until we got to the state room,we booked a ocean view and were upgraded to a balconey then to a mini suite. The ship is masive clean and very well run.the food is made on the ship(no fast food)it was it was top quality, the entertainment was very good with acts from x-facter/britains got talent/and the ...
7-5-12 The travelers included my husband and me, our kids, and my mother. Our daughter turned 12 on the cruise and our son turned 9 on the cruise. Arrived in London around noon. We stayed at the elegant Chancery Court Hotel. The staff were very personable and helpful. The kids enjoyed riding on the London Eye. Had a good dinner at Garfunkel's near the Strand area.

We had a wonderful ...
