It SUCKED, starting with extremely dirty glass in the room, no shower curtain and filthy un-vacuumed carpet with trash on the deck that stayed there the entire cruise. Steward did a hit-it-and-go cleaning on everything. When we checked into our room we didn't t even have a shower curtain. Sad because we paid extra money for the balcony and we felt we were screwed over from day 1. The steward did leave us a couple of chocolates on the pillows every evening! A real treat to make up for the shortcomings. Bah Humbug.

Great cruise!! By: travelnut29
Shower was a little small for my taste, but it was fine. Bed was UBER comfy! Loved it! Had a a nice, big balcony-spent lots of time out there. My only wish for the room would have been a sofa instead of just one chair to relax in, but we did just fine.

Balcony room was adequate. You DO NOT want a mini suite on the Grand, as the balcony there sticks out, so all above you can fully see your balcony. Deck 11 is rather quiet. Shower is tight but adequate. Water pressure was fine and the water did get HOT.

Very poor for a five star cruise. We are fairly well travelled on cruises and this was not we expected. Some cabins may have been re-carpeted and had new drapes, but for us that was not the case.

Loved Hawaii but Not the Ship By: Cruiser from MO
Cabin needed updating. The mattress was old and the carpet, shower curtain etc. need replacing. There was also a strange noise coming from the closet as we sailed. Something was lose and needed repair. Keep us awake at night. The Technology was poor and again needs updating. Overall an old ship.

The cabin was small and looked outdated. Our balcony was nice. I can't imagine booking an interior room on a ship like this. With nothing to do outside of the room, where can you go to veg out and relax away from the crowds? One other thing - Princess' TV selections are ridiculous. They play ONE EPISODE of The Love Boat, on a loop, every day. Why not play more than one episode? How hard is that? A couple movie channels, Fox and MSNBC, HGTV, that was about it.

A nice cabin. Smaller than usual open closet length, but adequate. Bathroom small but fine. Shower big enough. I've been in smaller. Nice size balcony, unobstructed view. Overlooks the Caribe deck and the Dolphin deck below that, since these are stepped-back balconies, but it is fine. Good lighting. Refrigerator very handy. Has two chairs, not a couch, but that is typical for this category of cabin and not a problem. A couch is always nicer but oh well. A little more ship motion being up higher, but not a problem at all. But we had calm seas too. Temperature was fine at all times in the cabin. We had no problem with the air conditioning in our room or anywhere on the ship.

The cabin was nicely situated in the middle of the Ship by the panoramic elevators. I was disappointed that they were basically regular elevators - nothing special at all like on other Ships. The most disappointing thing though, was that there are no stairs at these elevators. Since the pool and Buffet are only one deck up - we normally would have just walked up. Felt silly taking the elevator for one floor. The cabin was spacious enough if you are not wanting a lot of room. Nice size balcony. Not noisy at all being that close to the elevators.

Wonderful trip. By: thumpersmom
Our cabin, D735, was on the back of the ship with a wake view. We had an amazingly large balcony with somewhat uncomfortable chairs, but not a big deal. The room was clean but somewhat dated. Our shower, toilet, and sink worked with no problems. Our steward, George, was very good.

The balcony cabins on the upper decks are small compared to other balcony cabins on other Princess ships. Closet space and doored cabinet shelves were half the size in width. Luckily on a seven day cruise we didn't take that many clothes but on a long cruise this could be an issue. Balconies are narrow being only about 4 to 5 feet deep but normal width. Aloha balconies are covered so it is nice to be able to sit our when it rains and to be protected from the sun.

Cabin A251
Dec 2014
A forward starboard cabin with a balcony. I wish the balcony were better kept but the room itself was nice and clean, good size for a cruise ship cabin. I wish the shower had a door and not a curtain. I also wish the closet had doors. The bed was quite comfortable and we think it was bigger than a queen. We liked having a mini fridge to keep our waters and a couple medications cool. There are only a couple outlets up near the vanity so it makes keeping all of your ipods, ipads, etc. charged. the internet connection in the good was good and strong but still not very fast. Our cabin was very quiet and very rarely could you even hear people passing in the hallways. For some reason, this was the heaviest cabin door I ever remember. I could imagine small kids and older folks having trouble with it. this cabin is fairly close to the laundromat facilities (one of the reasons we chose it). The Aloha deck is right below the Horizon court so getting to breakfast was always pretty easy, but getting to the Piazza could be a chore depending on the elevators. Overall, I'd take the same cabin again....

I love balcony cabins. Room was efficient, plenty of storage, loved closet but no sofa was the trade off. Tired decor. Cracked tile in bath, needed regrouting. Liked shower curtain but a little color would have made surroundings warmer.

Relaxing & friendly By: MeganF
Balcony smaller but not overlooked & overhang from deck above kept us dry in the rain & would have provided some shade if sunny. Cabin a little on small side but adequate. Plenty of drawer & hanging space. Slightly forward cabin but not too far from lift or theatre & Atrium but some way from Botticelli Restaurant.

C103, forward, one cabin from bow, Starboard Best features - larger balcony than Aloha and Baha, quiet corridor area near forward stairs, laundry close, but not too close for passenger traffic, Worst features - noisy crew cabin above, the wind on balcony so far forward, more motion than middle,Bridge deflects some sunlight and some direct forward views, vibrations from cross swells is audible and can be felt strongly in this cabin.

Very Nice Cruise By: dag144
Cabin A334, a balcony on Aloha deck, just below the lido deck is convenient. It is typical for this type of cabin. The balcony, while small, is private. Being on the top deck no one can look down on you. Space would be tight for in cabin dining, and storage could be a tight for a cruise longer than a week. The only drawback to this cabin is the occasional noise from activity above on the Lido. Still,I never was really bothered.

Cabin A314
Jul 2012
Cabin The cabin was functional rather than glamorous, and a bit dull/tired. The fridge is a good size and replenished with ice every morning. The 220V power point under the bed is not very convenient, but we had been recommended to take an extension lead. The balcony was in need of some TLC, the doors rattled (fixed this with a cardboard wedge), and large area of pealed paint on a down pipe (back to bare metal) and the bottom of the patio door was sealed with duct tape. Our cabin steward Dixon was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. Things that go bump in the night, we knew that being under the Lido deck there was potential for noise, and most of the time it was perfectly quiet. Our cabin (A312) was under the doors leading from the Lido area and around 04:30 most mornings a heavy trolley would clank over the grating (we should have mentioned it); similarly some mornings when the deck was being hosed at 06:30 could be disturbing. The internet access wasn't great and kept dropping off; I even went and stood by the access point in the corridor. Near the end of the cruise I had a chat with the Internet Manager who pointed out that because I was using an iPad I needed to change some settings. I wish that had been mentioned in the guide in the cabin, iPads have been around for a few years now.

Great cabin in a very quiet location. Ideally situated for a quick visit to the Horizon Court to collect early morning cups of tea (a must have for us Brits!). Lots of storage, good size hanging area, plenty of shelves, drawer space. There is a 240v euro socket behind the bed which is great for charging mobiles etc. Launderette on Deck 11 is closer than one on Deck 10. The Caribe balcony furniture is far too small for the double balcony & is crying out for extra chairs/footstools & a larger table. The painted floor never looks clean despite the best efforts of the room steward.

Our balcony deck was never cleaned and I know the decks above were cleaned because I was sitting outside and got sprinkled. Our cabin was C254 extended balcony. Half covered. There is little privacy on the open part. Also there was something in the walls that sounded like it was running so the cabin was not quite.

Cabin was in very good condition. Balconies on Caribe deck are extra large and allow for 1/2 covered and 1/2 open always have sun and shade. Two reclining chairs and a regular round table provide good seating and ability to eat out on the balcony. Closet and cabinet space was more than adequate. Bathroom also had shelves which allowed storing of cosmetics, razor, etc. Shower is very small, but was adequate for us.

The Grand Princess By: Rookie44
We had an ocean view cabin with a balcony. The balcony is small yet will fit two satisfactory however getting around table and chairs was tight. Our relatives had the room next to ours and we were able to open the door between the two which we tied open. This worked out well for socializing. Rooms were adequate for the amount of time spent in the rooms.

As with the Princess the closets have no doors (so that's a bit weird), Caribe deck is the best deck because the balconies are the most tiered (more space) but also the fewest number of people can see you on your balcony and with the overhang you can avoid being seen at all)...we had 'extra footage' on our balcony (C743) but really didn't need it because the Caribe balconies are huge (by cruise ship standards...easily held 4 chairs and the table and could have held more). The cabin is pretty quiet because one side is beside a large crew storage area that no one ever seemed to access and a hall way that was only for emergency exits on the far side of the crew storage area...which meant only passengers on one side of the cabin) I don't know if all Princess showers have the amazing shower head that this cabin did but it was by far the best shower head ever experienced on a cruise ship (the shower is tiny BUT the shower head and the water pressure make up for that "small" fact).

Our balcony cabin on Cairbe deck 10 was perfect. It was a very quiet location but, near to the aft elevators so we could "pop" up to the buffet to collect a cup of tea or a snack to eat on our balcony. The balcony was a double size with 4 chairs & a table. With the "overhang" we enjoyed both sun & shade. We'd book this cabin again.

We had an outside twin "stateroom" with a Balcony on B deck. The Balcony was compact but not overlooked at all, and the chairs and table were just right. We could sunbathe comfortably in or out of clothes as the temperatures dictated! The room was most acceptable, and the toilet and shower etc were well appointed (and the shower curtain didn't cling and the shower cubicle was roomy enough to turn round in..). We already knew that Princess don't provide tea and coffee making kit and a kettle so we took our own travel kettle that does have an automatic shut off and no comments were passed. (we are VERY antisocial first thing so for us that first cuppa is a private thing.) In size terms the cabin equates to a Holiday Express Inn or similar. We found there to be plenty of room for clothes and "stuff". The television was good and well placed to view in bed or sat at the desk. The hairdryer worked. We were starboard and slightly aft of mid-ship. A great position. We never heard anyone else at all.

We deliberately chose a cabin on Caribe deck because the balcony on that deck is larger than the other Balcony Staterooms. There was room for 2 chairs, 2 loungers and a table. This is true on all of the larger Princess ships: Crown, Emerald, Ruby, Caribbean, etc. The closet area was smaller than on Crown but we managed OK. Everything else was absolutely fine. Room steward kept us stocked up with fruit and with beverages and ice. No problems at all. Nice free toiletries supplied for shower room.

Standard balcony cabin was fine for a week, but had very cramped storage space for a longer cruise. There were no hanging hooks beyond the bathroom door. Cabin A311 is across the corridor from the laundromat but it wasn't a problem. Cabin is underneath the deck around the pool above so subject to the noise of moving furniture late at night and very early in the morning: be sure to check what's above you. Aloha deck cabins have a big overhang above them, which means they're almost always in the shade.
