Mostly smooth sailing on Grand Princess to Hawaii April 4th-19th 2022

We choose this cruise as it's been a "bucket list" cruise for us for a while, but mostly because back in November we were very concerned that our two week Caribbean cruise would be canceled, so we cancelled it proactively and booked the 15 day Hawaii cruise. We had previously sailed on Grand in December for a 10 day Mexico cruise and really enjoyed it. The trip across the ocean from LA to Hilo ...

We liked the ports the ship was going to, Cabo was just okay... to built up. PV is busy but much more to do. The ship is nice but needs a refresh. the food in dining rooms was very good. we were un happy in the steakhouse and the Italian restaurants, they were over booked and the food suffered. Te shows were better than we have had in the past we were very surprised. Buffet breakfast is good but ...

Nice Comeback from Two Year Covid Related Hiatus

This itinerary was the last cruise we took pre-Covid. In fact, we were one of the last ships able to disembark at Port of Los Angeles before everything shut down. We love the itinerary and had rebooked/cancelled several times during the pandemic and were finally able to go. The Grand Princess was well prepared for resuming cruise operations, with some minor glitches in crew training and ...

We wanted lots of sea days and a chance to visit four islands in Hawaii so sailing on the Grand Princess was a no brainer. The Grand Princess leaves from San Pedro California round trip to Hawaii. The Grand Princess is an older ship but full of nostalgia and beautiful wood furnishings throughout the ship. It’s a classy and well maintained ship. The food was so delicious. It was well ...

Cruising Through Covid to Hawaii

I am an 84 year old woman who has been on 33 cruises, but I had a hip replacement in 2019 and use a mobility scooter or a walker. I can no longer navigate an airport by myself. My companion of choice on this cruise was Phyllis, my 3rd daughter's mother-in-law, who was recently widowed, and is a little younger and a lot fitter than I am. She had been on several cruises - the most recent one was ...

An Amazing Return

First, fill out the Information for the Medallion App way in advance of the cruise. We did and it was a flawless experience from embarkation for disembarkation. Once you do this, the Medallion Class is amazing. Second, if you have any questions, ASK. EVERYONE will help. Also, there are step by step videos that will show you how to do EVERYTHING. Now, on to the cruise. The Sail Away celebration ...

Tavo from Cabo should be the entertainment director not the asst. Director. This is what irritates me about human resource departments and their jaded decisions! Mario, George, Giuseppe, and Fransico great restaurant managers all 10 days went above and beyond! Alix FD manager on cruise should be rewarded by Princess as an elite performer of service! Fransico and Eusepio great waiters! oh yea, ...

Hawaii - At last!

This cruise was originally booked in 2019 for sailing on March 13, 2020. The day before sailing, the cruise was cancelled due to Covid. It was rebooked 3 times before we finally were able to sail. We were more than ready! The pre-cruise Covid testing passed and we were on our way to LA. The night prior to the cruise, we received a text saying we would have a Covid test prior to boarding. ...

This was our 11th Princess cruise and our 14th cruise overall. We were desperate to get away for a few days after all this Covid lockdown time. It was an eight-hour drive to Los Angeles for three of us (the worst part of the trip) and a flight from SLC for the other two. Cruise prep was fairly onerous. Pre-cruise Covid testing wasn't as bad as we expected with the at-home test kits done with a ...

It was our 5 th Mexican riviera cruise. This time however it was not the standard 7 day ,same ports as last time cruise. Princess came up with a 10 day itinerary that included two new ports in the sea of Cortez as well as two nights in Cabo. Princess has upgraded many of their ships to medallion class during the off time. This was our first medallion cruise and all in all it was a success. ...
