I am not a new cruiser, I have been on close to 30 and love it! I bought the tickets for this trip during one of Bahamas Paradise's sales (which are ongoing) and felt like we had a good deal. I also upgraded to the "Concierge Package", which was also a good deal when all of the perks were added together. The ship was less than 1/2 full, so there was plenty of space everywhere. The ship is styled like an older ship, but it is clean and kept in great shape. Cabin: "ocean" view (porthole). The cabin had plenty of room for two people with a large bed, two chair sitting area, small table, and bathroom. There is a TV in the corner, but we never turned it on. The bathroom had enough space and good lighting. CON: only one outlet in the room itself, and a European style plug. I was prepared with a converter as I had heard there was only the European style outlets. Public areas: There are several lounges, bars, two pools, spa with sauna and steam room, and a gym. Of course a small casino and library as well (which was nice as many ships don't have them now). Everything was bright and clean. Entertainment: Typical "rock" dance show and comedy club. Dining: Overall we were very happy with all of the food. We ate at the specialty "Admirals" restaurant, the buffet, and the main dining room. All were very good and plenty of food. CON: the drinking water is TERRIBLE to the point as to be undrinkable. I am not a water snob and drink tap water frequently (Tampa, Florida), but this was not drinkable unless it was ice cold. Conclusion, I would absolutely sail with this company again, next time I would like to compare their old Carnival ship. Read Less

I chose the cruise because it was inexpensive. After reading the reviews I was scared because of all the negative reviews this cruise had. So I purchased the concierge package for my husband and I. I must say it's worth every penny. We were escorted in and out of the ship, special dinner package, a massage, wine tasting (wow really good), and a few other perks. We received the royal treatment from everyone. The restaurants of choice were spectacular. Food was amazing, service was more than expected. I booked a scuba trip for my husband and i and unfortunatly there was a 4 people min. so the trip was cancelled. The excursion manager (very professional) came out and explained why it was cancelled ad funds were going to be returned back to the account. We got our money back three days later. The pool entertainment was lots of fun. The crew really knows how to get the crowd involved. I have no complaints but very good memories of this trip. I highly recommend this cruise with the concierge package. You will be treate like royalty. Read Less

My Husband and I badly needed a little getaway that could fit into just 3 days off work, and the regular departure dates on this line made it happen. Having read some pretty awful reviews I had prepared myself to take the good with the bad. That said, I'm very happy to report we experienced far more of the good than the bad! First thing to report back is that we were originally booked on an earlier sailing date but due to a death in the family had to push the cruise back a couple of weeks. The fact that this line offers daily departures for the 2 night itinerary between its 2 ships made it easy to find another date. Although we had insurance on the trip, we decided the $50 re-booking fee from the cruise line was way more convenient than dealing with an insurance claim and waiting for a refund before being able to travel. (Like I said we really needed this getaway) The person on the phone was very helpful and did this quickly. Although we were told that we would not receive the promotion of 10 free drinks and $50obc on the new sailing date, when we received the new confirmation the promotion still showed and in fact was provided on board, so not sure what that was about. Embarkation was a breeze, from the valet parking, to the opportunity to make dining reservations, it was simple and easy. We sailed midweek so the ship wasn't full, and we did arrive early on in the embarkation process which may have helped. They offer desks in the waiting area where you could buy beverage packages, make reservations at the paid upgrade restaurants, buy shore excursions, and sign up for the wine tasting event (which we really enjoyed) Some reviews refer to this as "nickel and dimeing" but personally I found it a good use of our time while we waited to board the ship. The ship itself is very well maintained and clean. Given it's age there are some interesting quirks in regards to the layout and some features, but I felt the cruise line did a good job of maintaining her. The only thing I didn't like about the appearance were these really strange garish blue and orange signs that were placed over some of the old signage to update for the new venue names and offerings. I get that they acquired the ship and that it's a budget cruise but it really was a shame as the ship is otherwise quite Glitzy and classy. On day one we attended a wine tasting that was $12 and we really enjoyed this. We tried lots of wines that were also available for purchase (obviously) but we also met some great people who we ended up spending a lot of time with. We probably wouldn't have had the time to connect with people otherwise, it being such a short cruise. Our room was ready right on time and our luggage was delivered late afternoon in time to change before dinner. The room itself was standard for an inside room on an older ship. The bathroom was small, and the TV wobbled a lot. But the bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the steward was attentive. And let's face it, for 2 days, we weren't really there to be in the room. The service on-board was great. Every bar we went to had a friendly bar server, and the lounges and restaurants had attentive waiters. We were offered souvenir cups with discounted refills several times, or the drink coupons, but not hounded like some people said. A polite "no thank you" is all it took to move on. Drink Coupons we found to be a good deal, about $75 got you 10 drinks. Cocktails, wine, and mixed drinks were probably best value. If you only drink beer you probably don't need them. I was happy to see that we paid a gratuity relative to the value of each drink when we ordered. I care about servers and know that this is how they make a living, so that protected them from being "stiffed" by stingy passengers! The food on board was standard for cruise ships. I wouldn't offer them a Michelin star any time soon but it was mostly good. That said, the buffet was less than great, but with so many options from the grill, to the main dining room, that didn't effect us. PRO TIP 1: Listen when the servers suggest a dish, that means its good and fresh. On the first night we didn't follow the recommendation and our dish was not as good as our table mate's. PRO TIP 2: If you are dissatisfied with your dish at any of the meals, simply ask to have something else, the servers were so accommodating, and in the event above we switched to the recommended dish and it was wonderful. The on board entertainment was fun and high energy and we enjoyed every single one. The lounge artists were wonderful, and so professional. The theater group were awesome and both shows were very enjoyable. We did pay to see the late night comedian and we are glad we did. Seriously good entertainment! We did not do any shore excursion as we had been to Grand Bahama Island before and were really just looking to relax on the ship, however we did go for a walk around the port area. We sailed before Hurricane Dorian devastated the island, and when we go back we will make sure to go off the ship and spend some money top help them recover. We also donated to the Relief Cruise fund and the Grand Celebration has already sailed on two missions with supplies and volunteers. It is great to see the cruise line is dedicated to helping the island recover! Overall, I would say to approach the cruise with an open mind. Don't expect miracles and you will be pleasantly surprised. We placed a deposit down while on board for another cruise and hope to sail in February. Read Less

I really want to go back next year. I took the excursion to Grand Lucaya. its a Beautiful place. Exceptional The saxophone show in the encore salon. the Game for couples stole laughter from everyone present. If you love to play, the casino is very well suited. Yellow Elder restaurant has excellent entrees included in the price and likewise additional dishes at a moderate price. the cleanliness is spectacular. the staff is concerned about constantly keeping everything clean and very organized. It’s was a nightmare. Getting harassed to buy a drink package we didn’t want . Every 5 mins until you finally buy at 80 dollars then your charged 3 dollars each time you get a drink. the staff is incredibly rude and incompetent no one wants to do their job and staff does not look happy to be there. as soon a i got on the ship they where giving us the run around we added a credit card just for them to constantly asking us about information on the card then one lady said cash only so they took 200 of our cash and still used our credit card for over 400 dollars after they said they wouldn't charge our card. then when it came to the excursions they told us to meet at the top deck once we got there they staff told us to go back down wrong floor (they made an mistake) and we almost missed our tour bus and we were extremely late holding everyone else up the staff got made at us and started screaming when in all reality it was there fault!!! comedy show and entertainment show was boring as hell there nothing to do on the ship. we paid and extra 50 dollars for a queen sized bed and it was two twin beds push together we could barely sleep together on our anniversary! the staff was no helpful and very very rude we sat at dinner and couldn't even have an conversation the waiters rush you to eat and a wine guy in pushing his wine package on you we told him no several times and he continue to harass us. customer service there is no help there loss their themselves the ruined what would've been a great cruise for our time anniversary dont book oh and the charge 60 dollars for two room service and they didn't even clean the room! and the charge to get on and off the ship every little thing they charge for! restaurants are nasty 0 stars if i could Read Less

Chose the trip as a first cruise for my wife. 2 days on the water is a safe way to determine if a longer Alaska or Eupopean cruise would work. Everything from the booking process through the disembarkation was smooth. The ship is older and has been refitted so it looks and feels modern. The cabin was nice, I jab a lower deck outside cabin that had a HUGE round port hole window. Queen sized bed, side tables, and a small TV (for what?) were in the room. The fridge wasn’t up to par and the head of housekeeping offered us an ice chest but we settled on a constant supply of fresh ice and that worked well. We ate at the Admiralty on the first night, which was an upgraded dining option but checked out the Ocean Buffet which looked substantial on its own. Night 2 we ate at the Rock Grill, on our next trip I’ll try to finagle the Admiralty both nights. The shows are so-so BUT the Adult comedian on our trip (Lou Remy) had the audience rolling in the aisles. If you’ve been to Freeport and hit Port Lucaya then there’s no need to spend anything on the excursions. I’m already planning our next Grand Classica trip. . Read Less

The cabin was comfortable, and, we took the package for 10 drinks, which we think was well worth it. We had so much fun seeing Michelle perform we never got to any of the shows, or casino. All the music after her was good as well. I hope when we go back its all the same. We took the excursion to Lucaya, they give a tour of the island, we had a knowledgeable guide who then took us to the beach. Absolutely like I remember it from years ago, beautiful. We wanted to have lunch at the outside bar but there wasn't enough room for us to eat. They could use a few more tables. There wasn't a big variety on the menu, but we made do. Read Less

We we’re so excited for this to be our first cruise together. This cruise ship is awful! Do not cruise on this ship! It has absolutely NOTHING to do on the ship. The food was horrible! They charge you for EVERYTHING. Total trip was 384 total for 2 people. They charge you for alcoholic beverages 82.50 for 10 drinks. If you have cash your cash is no long useable once you get on the ship. If you use cash is a 100$ dollar per person deposit to put down. For non-alcoholic beverages 34.50 an 18% charge on EVERYTHING!!! Once again do not pick this cruise! They charge 25.90 per person to clean the rooms. That’s not even included on how much we paid for gas to and from. We we’re charged an extra 244$ just for 2 nights. Oh Yeah and we didn’t even get off the boat!!!! The excursions are not worth it. When you get off the boat is only 2 little store and 4 to 9 miles to a beach! My whole birthday weekend was horrible!!! Literally you have to PAY FOR EVERYTHING. Non-refund for ANYTHING YOU PURCHASE on the ship. The crew members do not speak any English not one person! Horrible weekend! The breakfast was rewarmed the next morning. The line to exit the ship is awful! It says we dock back in West Palm Beach at 7am we didn’t, we didn’t get back until 7:30am the line to get back In The US is horrible they need a better system. Once again do not book this cruise the worst Birthday weekend I have ever experienced! The cleaners only cleaned the room for ONE day which was Saturday and everyone is off the boat by 8:30am on Sunday so why are they charging for 2 days of cleaning. The food was put up at a certain time. Everything stopped at 12:30. No need to buy the drink specials they tell you there’s no water on the ship but it is, try not to drink the water because it’s NASTY, All the water is connected!!! Also parking is 19$ a night 6/8/2018-6/10/2018 Read Less

I read through a lot of reviews before deciding to go on this cruise with my 2 kids (ages 10 & 15). I tried to prepare for any potential issues brought up by other reviewers. It turns out I didn’t need to! This cruise was great! I will preface my review by saying I have sailed in Carnival 5 times before. I needed something that would fit my budget and time schedule and this 2 night cruise on the Classica was perfect! Embarkation was a breeze. We were greeted warmly and everything went smoothly during the process. A delicious lunch buffet was waiting for us when we got on board. The selections at this and all meals were great. Our room was a spacious inside cabin for three. If I had to say one thing bad it would be the shower size could have been a bit larger. There were plenty of on board activities to occupy our time with. We dined in the Tellow Elder for dinner and breakfast and the food and service was wonderful! We caught both big singing and dancing productions and LOVED them. We also caught some of the other entertainment around the ship and they were all great! I loved this cruise and look forward to doing another one! Read Less

Bahamas Paradise Classico is so much better than I expected it to be . If I listened to the reviews I wouldn’t have booked this trip. But I wanted to form my own opinion. The food is Very good so far. We had the buffet lunch and for dinner we ate in the main dining room The salmon was the best salmon I’ve had in a while and the dessert was great . Our wait Ivan was quite attentive. Now We are walking around the ship .A beautiful ship with lovely art work. Our cabin is spacious and comfortable. The bathroom is big enough for two people to use at one time. The staff is friendly, efficient and professional. Saw the Donna Summer (Sharon Johnson) act in the Encore lounge and she was great . We had breakfast in the main dining room on the second day. Lovely luck we got Ivan for our waiter again this morning. We were offered danish, fresh fruit, omelets. Pancakes, toast, juices etc. Hearty and tasty meal. We have been to the Bahamas many times so we stayed onboard. Relaxed at the pool. Bahamas part 2 I decided to buy the 4 hour Internet package. It was $7. I checked my email and uploaded pictures to Fac ebook. The lunch buffet had a turkey carving station and fresh salad and fruit. Also offered pannini. I didn’t think I would like anything on the dinner but boy was I wrong. Goat cheese croquettes were yummy and so was the avocado mango chicken salad. 830 PM , Encore lounge had a Tina Turner tribute that was amazing. The show was called Superstition in The Legends Theater at 930PM . There was a musician, comedian , dancers and singers. Lovely trip. The only complaint is that there is not a drink station when dining areas are closed. You can buy alcohol etc. but coffee you need to pay for. I would give it a 9 out of 10. Read Less

Very dysfunctional From the time you try to board from the time you try to leave. I have been on many many cruises. Cruise at least twice a year. I was not expecting Wish to compare to the other cruises. And there is no comparison. So not much of a disappointment. I paid for the best room. There’s only 10 suites with balconies so I got one of them. I also paid for the concierge service. That part is the biggest joke in waste of money I’ve ever seen. I’ve virtually had to beg for everything that I was supposed to get and still got nothing no VIP check-in to know VIP leaving and nothing in between. Ship is very old but nostalgic. I am not much of a foodie so I’ve never thought any cruise food was bad until this LOL. The specialty restaurant or not bad. But stay away from the buffet. So if you’re not expecting anything except a ride to the Bahamas you’re in good shape . If you want a cruise experience definitely try something else. This is common from probably the most laid-back don’t expect much person. I’ve never even written a bad review until now. I’ve actually tried to call paradise cruise to let them know my concerns and hopes that they can fix them. But like everything else it’s impossible to get a hold of anybody. By the way I was in the grand Terrace suite it was the loudest room I’ve ever been in constant tables and chairs being drug overhead and the amount of noise was unbearable. This is going to be long but I want to explain why this cruise is worth the money for anyone who is getting turned off from the horrible reviews! I was reading about this cruisline for a while and almost didn’t book because of such bad reviews. But then I saw The Classica was added so I wanted to try it out and I’m glad that I did! I can honestly say that the bad reviews I have read are about some pretty pathetic and nitpicking things! We did the BOGO deal and our total was only $350! Without gratuities or on board spending. First, there are NO “hidden fees.” If you read the webiste AND your confirmation emails that even has a FAQs and extra info in it, it literally explains everything!! From the fuel charge (ours was included in our taxes when we booked), 18% gratuities on anything your purchase, $13 comedy show etc. It is literally all right there IF people choose to read it! People just spend crazy on the ship and then get a bill at the end and forget that everything adds up. If you monitor what you’re spending then the prices on this ship can’t be beat! My husband and I set our expectations VERY low and I can honestly say that this boat is on par with both of the older carnival ships I have been on. I actually preferred this decor MUCH better! More modern and clean. Here are some key things I noted: Embarkation: the easiest on and off ANY boat! ESPECIALLY if you have a passport! You are treated like VIP! Took less than 20 mins from pulling up to valet to being on the boat. The ship - Very clean!!! The pool was really small but for only being on board for a total of a day and a half, I wasn’t expecting anything more. Adult only pool area is nice. Lounge chairs could be updated. Inside was really pretty. Nice hallways and stairs and the common areas were really nice with plenty of space! Cabin - We had an ocean view as part of the BOGO deal and the room was surprisingly big. Especially the shower and vanity space! Bed and pillows were both comfy. Room was very clean overall. No complaints there. Dining - We did the Yellow Elder (main dining) the first night and it was good. About the same as your other cruise lines. The second night we did the Admiral’s steakhouse and it was GREAT! I highly recommend paying the money to go!! The buffet was decent. Not bad, not great but it had plenty of options and was just fine for this type of cruise. Entertainment - We didn’t go to any shows but we caught the tail end of one right before bingo and it was pretty good. The band playing in the Encore lounge the first night was really really good. Especially the woman singer! We also didn’t participate in many activities but I saw some going on and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Service - The service staff was excellent! Very attentive and polite! I’ve read many reviews about how much they hassle you but we only got approached THREE TIMES the entire trip. Twice on the first day in the buffet and once poolside. If you just politely and firmly say NO, most of them will keep walking and not come around again. It wasn’t that serious like people in here are complaining about. Never once saw our room attendant but he/she did clean our room one night when we didn’t have our ‘do not disturb’ sign up. Freeport - The actual port itself is pretty run down and dumpy looking. With every excursion you have to take at least a 20 min bus ride away from the port which is included in your excursion. Our snorkeling excursion got canceled because of wind so we chose the all inclusive day at Wyndham resort and we had a great time! Check in at the resort took a little longer than it should have but the staff mentioned they were working on altering the process. We were treated to a large breakfast buffet, lunch buffet, all you can drink alcohol and soft drinks, beach chairs, pool access and pool side entertainment. Definitelty worth the $79pp! A few other things: Some of the really good things I noticed was how NOT CROWDED this ship was. It was sold out yet there was never crowds or lines (except day one at the lunch buffet) but other than that, there was more than enough room to not feel stuffy or squished like on other ships. We were on deck 6, mid ship and it was SUPER quiet. Nice change from other ships. The comdian Brian Bradley was SO GOOD! Pretty much picked on the crowd instead of doing his act and it was HYSTERICAL! Definitely worth the extra $13! The one really disappointing thing was the Crow’s Nest that was advertised as a sports bar with pool tables, arcade games etc. Well, that area isn’t even set up. Arcade equipment is still in pieces and everything was wrapped in Saran Wrap. It was only the second weekend that the Classica had been sailing but I was looking forward to spending some time there and was disappointed to see that it wasn’t even ready for guests. Hopefully that’s changed by now. Overall I would definitely recommend this cruise for a weekend getaway! My husband and I sailed to the Bahamas for $350!!! You seriously can’t beat that!!! Everything on this boat was well worth the $350. And the only people I can see not enjoying it are the people who had high expectations and thought they were getting a Norwegian experience at a super discounted price. Unrealistic!! Read Less
