Royal Seas. Let me first say that there is nothing Royal about this. Don’t let the pictures of the brand new cruise ships fool you. The ship we got on was rusted and corroding away. They called us with an all inclusive package that in reality, was nothing inclusive about. We gave them a credit card number that we knew did not have enough to cover the initial $1,000 so that it would be declined and they could leave us alone. Well they had a way around that and charged it anyways so that we were way over our limit. After 6 months we decided that this was not something we were interested in. After trying to get a refund, we were refused and told basically that we either take it, give it to a friend, or forfeit the money. After some deliberation we decide to just go ahead and take it. We should have just forfeited the money. There was a bunch of taxes and hidden fees that were not included in our all inclusive package. We also paid $300 to upgrade our resort on the island so that our food and beverages were included. We set our date, book our flights ($400 extra), and arrive in FT. Lauderdale. After also upgrading the rental car (because we aren’t fitting comfortably into a Kia Rio $170 extra), we get to our hotel that Royal Seas booked us claiming to be a Ramada....yeah like 10 years ago. Let’s talk about false advertising here folks. The room itself was spacious, beds were not terribly uncomfortable, but the AC only cooled to about 78 degrees. Top that with only 4 tv stations, and the late night drug deals in the parking lot....we were not happy. Then we find out the next day our “orientation” was actually a Time Share tour. Living in a tourist town we know what a waste of time that was about to be...but they hold our Cruise tickets hostage until you endure 2 hours of “OMG it wont even cost you that much and you get this and this and this” better known as we cost more then a car payment and will bankrupt you into a contract you cant get out of. Come on Wyndham, you could have at least put us up in your “resort” to sell us a time share. After leaving 2 hours of our life that we will never get back, we call Royal Seas to complain about the accommodations, at first we get a rude little girl who very unprofessionally hangs up on us. As business owners, rule 1, never be the first to hang up. After calling back and speaking to management, they acted like they were gonna put us through to HR to put a formal complaint against that person, but we were hung up again, and only after saying they didnt have anything else available. Needless to say, we packed our bags, found the best little AirB&B 1 hour away and hightailed it out of there with our cruise tickets. Honestly, the AirB&B was the highlight of our trip. On day 3 we make our way to the port to board the ship. We get there at 11, stand in line for 1.5 hours, get charged $150 (taxes, fees, taxis, etc) and board the ship. Only to not have our rooms ready so we are forced to be around a bunch of strangers while hoarding our stuff because, well, they let anyone aboard. After barely eating a down right terrible lunch buffet, we sweat our butts off on the outside deck so the claustrophobia isn’t as bad before finally getting to go to our room...Where we promptly tried to hide in for 3 hours until the dang boat finally set sail. Let me say this right here if nothing else, they do not tell you what’s included, help you out at all, or care if you are getting everything you want out of the amenities included. We were afraid to leave the room for fear of having to be charged anything extra and at 18% gratuity alone, no thanks. Skipping ahead to the next morning (because there are just some stresses that needn’t be said) at 830 we all but ran off the ship to the hot island Bahamian air where we had to wait on a taxi to our resort. There’s our first indication that Islanders are not very friendly, especially when you’re a different skin color then them. We were ignored and left waiting for the next taxi because one female driver decided we weren’t her people. The next taxi held 12 people in it, 12 hot sweaty people, barely working AC, and a 20 year old van in desperate need of shocks. 20 grueling minutes later we arrive at the “all inclusive resort” where we were told to make sure we have a day bag packed because for 6 hot miserable hours, we would not be allowed to check into our room. At first we were excited. there was music, white (ish) beaches, and clear blue water. We found our own spot along the beach and took turns in the water (after all, trust no one, especially islanders haggling with you on the beach for Conch shells, marijuana, and Cocaine...yes, cocaine which we were offered 10 minutes after stepping foot on the beach.) 2 miserable hours later we get our buffet lunch (mediocre) and proceed to sit around for 4 more miserable hot sweaty hours before standing in line for 45 mins to get room keys. After walking to the absolute furthest room on the island we are met with a nice cool ACed room, but missing towels which an employee gave to us about 20minutes after getting in there. 7 hours in and we were already dead sick of being trapped in this resort. After looking into tours, excursions, and tourists traps (dont even ask about them unless you got money coming out of your ass because thats honestly the only way you’ll afford anything) the next day we purchased a rental car. $85 with taxes, we set off on day 2 with the resort in the rear view. While we found our own private beaches, coral rehabilitations, and deserted roads, the island is dirty, poor, and literally a living garbage can. Trash everywhere, run down buildings everywhere, abandoned hotels. It was downright sad at the state of what could have been a beautiful island. Day 3 we return the rental to an extremely rude owner who decided overnight that we were no longer worth mannerisms and check out of our hotel to get back on the dreaded cruise ship. I will say the return home was not nearly as bad now that we knew what was included but still, Royal Seas isn’t even comparable to one of those little rescue boats hanging off of a Carnival cruise ship. Before they con you into spending your hard earned money, think twice and read reviews. Splurge for Carnival, or stay away from floating death traps that hold a thousand people who would shove you overboard to save themselves and make your own way. AirB&Bs include house boats if you wanna be on the waters. Just saying. Read Less

I went on this cruise expecting a bad experience due to the reviews here but it was beautiful! The food was very delicious in the buffet and the restaurant that was included in our ticket had delicious appetizers, entrees and desserts to choose from. The room was very clean and everything worked fine. There are only two outlets, one in the room and one in the bathroom. If you need more, I suggest bringing an extension cord. The tv in the room had good channels and good reception so that was a plus. The live show featuring the dancers was admittedly cringy at times but there were good parts for it being free. There was a very funny comedian on board and the tickets were $9 per person. The staff was extremely kind and were eager to pull strings to help in any way. We only drank beer buckets so we did not get the drink coupons. We chose the excursion that took us to Vivas resort in the Bahamas and it was beautiful. Very clean beach, beautiful decor, great food and helpful locals. Overall, a great experience and worth the money. Very clean, comfortable, great food and tons of helpful people to answer any questions. I 100% recommend! Read Less

Cruise over all was moderately okay. The ship was clean and easy to navigate. The cabins were presentable and just enough space for the 4 of us, having the bunk bed really helped. Dining was nice at the included buffet, the food was good and plenty of choices. Every night for entertainment we headed to the theater to watch singing and dancing which was fun to watch. Service was good they were very quick if you need anything at all like plenty of milk at night for the baby. Shore excursion was the best part swimming with the pigs was AMAZING and I highly suggest it. Once 3rd day which is day off the boat the whole family which includes 18 month old and 10 year old ( this was her bday gift) got red little itchy, stinging bumps all over our back, legs, and arms. Went to family dr once back home in Atlanta and diagnosis Bed Bug Bites. Tried reaching over 5x now to manager Maria at the cruise line but she is always in a "meeting". The cruise is what you pay for. Not hot food, small pool, decent service. I was going to suggest cruise to family and friends until this happened. I hate for other children to go thru this. Not the out come I was hoping for my daughters birthday cruise. Best part was swimming with the pigs. The staff was great and tour guide was very informational and friendly. Maria call us back! 2-days cruise price awesome. Neither pools on ship were operational for the entire cruise. Both had closed signs on them. Ship needs a major overhaul, caution tape everywhere and not sure if its always like this or if they are updating but there were no signs that they were remodeling or a sign saying excuse our mess. Everything is an up charge. You pay for an add on packages and when you go to cash in on them there is like 18% charge + a gratuity added at the end of your cruse for each person in your party. Returning boat left port late at night so they view while cruising was null. Food was nothing to write home about and drinks were $$$. When you first board they hound you for drinks, following you around trying to sell Bahama mama with souvenir cup, to the point you have to get rude with them to leave you alone. The room was clean and nice size. Overall was not impressed i would give it a D. Read Less

The ship is not bad. Scheduled to leave at 5:30 pm, I waited until 8:00 pm to see the ship leave the Port and was still there ...... Few activities on board. Restaurant good. Friendly service. The destination: Grand Bahama is terrible, poor, ugly . Better not even get off the ship. On the way back, you are practically pushed out of the ship and we could not dispute the bill they leave at the door of your cabin. To make matters worse, the bag I left in the car that was in the parking lot of Porto, exclusive to who embarks on the ship, was stolen !!! Clothing, Shoes, Cosmetics... Positives: friendly crew, nice restaurant, quiet trip. Negatives: noisy cabin, disembarkation And immigration slow and without respect for the elderly, few options for drinks on board and expensive, besides the rate of 18% on top of everything, the destination of this Cruise is a very bad idea..... I would not recommend a cruise with this company. My daughter and I went on the Grand Celebrations Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line. What a disaster! The price to book was a good deal but all the extras that they add on later once onboard can get very expensive. We could have taken a 5 or 6 day cruise with a much more organized ship for what we paid to go on this 2 night cruise. Most of the cruise ships have the information in your cabin waiting for you on your arrival. We had to ask where to pick up the drink package coupons. No wash cloths in our cabin. We had to call to have someone bring them. We did not get our room serviced the next day. No clean washcloths or towels, bed did not get made. Once again we had to call. Ship was in port when a crane fell on the Royal Caribbean ship in the Bahamas. Our ship was delayed leaving the Bahamas because we took on 600 crew members from the Royal Carribean so they could shower, eat and sleep. Many passengers on our ship were going to miss flights and lose money on other reservations they had made previous to coming on this ship including my daughter. I even saw and heard a higher up crew member get very nasty and yell at passengers who where concerned about missing flights because of the delay. It was very obvious he didn't care about the paying passengers on his ship. He was only concerned with helping the crew from the other ship. Once we arrived back to West Palm Beach getting off the ship was a nightmare. No organization what so ever!! Terrible cruise line!! Would not recommend to any one! Read Less

They don't return your messages and you can never get ahold of anyone. They were doing maintenance on the busy while your on it which is very tacky! The drinks were defiantly over priced. The buffet was the same on both sides, you only got water or juice to drink unless you wanted to pay for a soda. They charged you for gratuity each day and an additional 18% on anything else you purchased! This was my first cruise and I was very disappointed. I understand things happen, but when its not your fault they should make things right! It send cheap on the computer but its not on paper! Be very mindful! Read Less

We decided to take this cruise again for the 3rd time.It has been at least a year, but I thought it was the same,However, some things have changed and not as good. The embarkation wasn't too bad,Our room was not so bad, considering the age of the ship. The staff were pretty nice and helpful. However, food wasn't available as it should be,and the quality was just average.(Bring snacks with you). The casino isn't as good as it has been in years past, and of course expect to pay high prices for drinks,(as with any cruise line). The entertainment was sub-par,we had expected to see the band that used to play there,Hollywood Brats, but there wasn't any bands,They were by far,the BEST we have seen on any cruise. The main show was o.k.not as good as one we saw there a few years ago,So,dont expect too much..The hamburgers and fries were pretty good. And we enjoyed being outside on deck at the pool..Freeport,is about the same as usual, expect to see lots of junk to buy,etc..Disembarking,wasn't too bad, just get up early!!!.We won't go back again,we will probably choose another cruise,However, our kids, enjoyed Freeport, but not so much the activities on the ship..Save your money, too much has changed on this cruiseline. This was the first cruise for my husband & I. We went with friends who have been on cruises. It's a very quick getaway & we did it to see if we could handle cruising. We knew from the price we paid it would be a cheap cruise & had little expectations. People go on cruises for the amazing food. Every single meal was absolutely awful with no flavor at all. It was extremely disappointing to the 4 of us. Our room was on level 4 & was spacious for a cruise, I was expecting smaller. The room was very clean & they came in twice a day. This was the most impressive part. For the excursion we went to the beach because we just wanted to relax......we had the open bar & ordered food.....it was the only good food we ate the entire time. We bought the drink packages thinking it was a good deal, but we didn't use them all. We should have bought 1 package between the 2 of us. We also bought the cup for $18 with the first "free drink". That didn't work out well for us either but whatever. Live and learn. We got off the ship sunday morning at 7:30am & went to Fort Lauderdale. Spent the rest of the day there eating good food. We caught a flight home Monday morning at 7am. Read Less

The complete experience was a rip off. 1- You pay for a deal of a cruise on groupon and you think you made a great deal but when boarding, they force you to enter your credit card information on a paper so that they can have a hand on charging your card for anything they want. You pay for fees that they never communicated on groupon : you pay for room service fee per person, not per room but per person ! even my 3 year old daughter who barely knows anything about a cruise paid full price for a room cleaning fee. 2- You pay 18% gratuities whether you like it or not. This should be optional and never mandatory. 3- You pay for a plastic , defective room key that they provide you with wrong instructions on the key and if the key happens to break or get lost, they will bill you $20 per key (even an hotel will never bill you for a lost key !) 4- They will play you at the casino and make sure that you waste your money there 5- The customer service team is awful ! They are rude and barely answer your question. They are aggressive and do not look like they enjoy what they do. 6- The disembarkation process is mess with a queue that is endless when getting out of the ship. Thankfully I had a little child which put me in a priority line but otherwise, anticipate wasting 1-2 hours getting out of the ship ! 7- They will charge you any amount they want on your card and you do not even get an invoice for every charge to understand it unless you ask for it ! Few waiters that served us at our table were courteous but apart from that, I never knew that I will end up paying 10 times the price of the ship once onboard ! The pool was dirty, clearly you could see that the water has not been changed frequently, neither was the pool cleaned. Read Less

We were expecting this short cruise to be fun. It was much more than that. This small ship has everything you need and the service is excellent. We felt very welcome on board. We went from Freeport to West Palm Beach and back. I have some food allergies and they took great care of me. They made a fresh meal for me at the lunch buffet on embarkation, which was excellent. We paid a little extra to dine in the special part of the Admiralty Lounge and we had the best ribeye we have ever had. Wow! They also gave me things that were not on the menu. The cabin was large and very clean. The bathroom and shower were bigger than on most Royal Caribbean ships. Entertainment was really good. There were different types of live music everywhere. The production show was good. Magic, comedy etc. The singers and dancers were a little hokey but still very entertaining. We had a 12 year old with us and he enjoyed himself very much. There was plenty for him to do. The pools and hot tubs were nice and clean. You can't beat the price, either! We will definitely be taking this cruise again. Read Less

To me, the shows were ok, nothing exiting and some of the dance synchronizations were off, but I understand. The staff was friendly and everything was clean. My kids were bored b/c they had no structured activities for them (13 & 15). The food was ok. We took the Jeep Adventure and beach experience shore excursion; save your money. The only thing we saw was a bunch of weeds and trees, a bat cave and a supposedly millionaires lane. The beach was almost deserted and the Lucaya Market place (not Port Lucaya Market) had only 3 shops. The Jeep we rode in was quite raggedy, but it did have a/c. I was disappointed because this excursion was recommended. BIG MISTATE! Do not pay for this excursion. A waste of money. The cruise was average. I do not plan to cruise with this line again. This was my fifth cruise aboard the Grand Celebration. This was a reunion with my cousin whom I havent seen in 14 years and my sister. We booked Concierge Deck level 11. There is nothing bad about this ship. Its been in our port for 3-4 years and has only gotten better over the years. Its the cleanest ship I have ever been on. Aside from the fact that the weather was perfect and its was a family reunion of sorts, here are my highlights. They walk you on to the ship, they ask you about what dinner times you want and they take careof everything. You are given a phone number and if you need something, its taken care of by the concierge. We were given a tour of the bridge and it was informative and fun. They also serve drinks and fancy finger foods on the tour. Because I have been to Freeport a million times I had no desire to get off the ship. The ship was my destination. So we took a leisurely breakfast In the Admiralty Club and then sat by the pool. We then caught a movie waiting for the casino to open at 3:00 and that is when the real fun begins. The casino was amazing. We saw a woman win $4,000 and I won $840. We bought all the pictures they took of us. The photographer was great. Dinner was always good and cooked perfectly. I live in Palm Beach County and I’m so happy this cruiseline is here. I am a caregiver for my husband who has Alzheimers. I love cruising and he cannot come with me. So for me a 2 day cruise is perfect. This ship is my home away from home and it helps me keep my sanity under my circumstances. With all that said there are different levels of this ship and everyone seems happy and enjoying themselves. Great job again Bahamas Paradise. The only criticism I have that the liitle market place where Senor Frogs is should be open all the the time the Bahamas Paradise cruise ships. It doesn’t seem fair that it would be closed because Bahamas Paradise always has a ship in port. My only beef and that should be negotiated with the Freeport Grand Bahama Island government. Read Less

I know a lot of people say this cruise is a scam, but I don't think it is the actual cruise line that scams people, I think it is the private contractor's that book these cruises. We impulsively bought a "great deal" from Holiday Cruise Line that turned out to be working on behalf of a time share company (RCI/Wydham). We ended up spending significantly more money on this "great deal" and it was a nightmare to book. Luckily, aside from the hotel that they booked us at in Orlando (Park Inn by Radisson - don't ever stay here) most of the trip was a lot of fun. Aside from the extra fees that we paid to take this cruise ($82.59 for a beverage package - 10 drink tickets, $116.82 for 3 people to eat at the specialty restaurant - Admiralty Club and $115.80 for gratuity and taxes/port fees), we really had a great time. The entertainment was great and we had a lot of fun playing Name That Tune with the piano player at the martini bar. We also enjoyed playing board games which they had a nice variety to choose from in the lounge next to the martini bar. The main pool was being painted while we were there, so that was kind of a bummer. It was not easy to find a lounge chair either since it was Spring Break and the ship was full of people. The food was decent and they have top shelf liquors to choose from which was nice. I also managed to find a good glass of wine. One thing I want to mention is that dinner we had in the main dining room that you do not have to pay extra for was actually better than the meal we had at the specialty restaurant. Don't waste your money. One more thing - the Belgian waffles at the Buffet were probably the best Belgian waffles I have ever had. Seriously good! We really enjoyed the evening entertainment and I was very impressed with the theatre! It was super nice! They do a really nice job of taking care of this ship. It is very clean and the furniture is in good shape. We had no issues with customer service. Boarding the ship in Port of Palm was fairly painless, it didn't take too long. Boarding the ship in the Bahamas was a little concerning - they could not find our reservation! The reservation attendant had to go on to the ship and it took a half hour or so before he returned and told us he got it straightened out. Luckily it all worked out, except that our room was in the front of the ship on the way back and the vibration from the engine woke us up very early. Definitely will make sure we don't get a room in the front of a ship again! Getting off the ship once we returned to Port of Palm was kind of crazy. We ended up waiting until about 11:00 am until almost everyone was off the ship before we attempted to leave. Once we got off the ship we had to wait for a Valet to retrieve our car which took some time. We had to pay $19.00/day to Valet Park at Port of Palm - Valet parking is not an option, it is a requirement. I would recommend making sure if you are flying out the same day you return to book an afternoon flight and plan on relaxing on the ship until the very last minute. Trying to beat the crowds off of that ship and standing in line for a long time is not a fun way to end your vacation... Read Less

WTH really I do not drink plain water so I was faced with a plate of dry beef that I was trying to eat with nothing to drink and when they finally brought me my desert they forgot the coffee until I had finished my desert and was ready to walk out of the dinning area.....I have trouble swallowing so this was really a challenge for me and I will never set foot back in the formal Dinning Areas of one of these Ships again if I should ever decide to cruise with them again. I did enjoy everything else for the price but just know that I will not leave home with out some crystal light in my purse. Now the upstairs deck food was great and you could at least get tea and lemonade.....Don't call yourself a upscale dinning facility when you do cater to your guest needs or try to please their wants. Embarkation was ok. It felt a little rushed when being given instruction filling out paperwork to get registered. They seemed to favor stating you need a credit card on file. I get they are a no cash cruise but they never seemed interested in letting people know they have the option of putting cash on their ship card in the beginning. Even after I said I would rather not use a credit card they still ignored that I had other options. Being a newbie to a cruise I was a little overwhelmed with what to expect, especially trotting along with a busy body toddler. The lines where very long. Not sure what would have been the best time to arrive to avoid the crowd. We got there around 1pm for check in and must have been in the line for at least what felt like 2 hours. Once on board I wiped down every surface I could for my family’s health. The bathroom mirror had a glass holder that was layered with dust. No wash clothes in site, until I asked for them. Despite having a toddler signed up in this cabin I still had to request a life jacket for my child. The shower heads could use some good cleaning as well. Shower curtain needs help as well. I realized this was an old ship so I looked past a lot until the end of this trip. I will get to that soon. But since I am on the topic of the cabin, at the end of the trip I checked under the bed for any forgotten items. There was nothing, but dust layered under there. Still being optimistic and forgiving. Dining was ok. The staff readily available in keeping the place clean and stocked and quickly as they could. Food was good. The flow of people was never crowded till the last day for breakfast. The "free champagne breakfast" was lovely, this was a freebie for 1st morning on cruise. Can't recall the restaurant name but staff was friendly. There was plenty of activities to participate in for a fee. We toured the ship when we first arrived and saw all the areas of activities. From the dining, to the jacuzzi, go down a flight and your in the kiddie pool area with slides, into the gym located right next to the spa, with the secured children area, exiting this area led to the casino and band area, keep walking you will run into the photo area, leading right to the stage performance location where they brief you on safety. We had fun that night for karaoke and whatever we came across. Next day after breakfast we took a taxi to Lucaya Marketplace. Shopped and went to the beach. There were jet skis there. We enjoyed ourselves. My toddler had fun getting sand everywhere, literally. Husband had a blast, but the weather turned on us and got us drenched, which made me a bit miserable, but I let it go quickly to finish enjoying my trip. They lost out on a lot of money because they refused cash on a lot of things. Like the photo area. You could not pay cash at all even in the very end of the cruise. Overall, I thought I would come back until the check out returned us to the desk. Which by the way we got several papers in our door mailbox, one on the 1st day and 2 the next day, to see them about our credit account. We resolved each time but apparently not completely. Before we exited the ship we were sent back to clear it. Ourselves and multiple other passengers had to dispute wrong transactions added to our tabs. If they say it’s free for some reason they charge you first and say they will return the funds at the end. It’s like a rebate program at a store. They tried to charge me for the "free champagne breakfast", stating it was free for one person only. I quickly pulled out my evidence that no it was indeed for two as I was told and what the website states. I was not a happy customer anymore by that time. So many lies and confusion it was frustrating to say the least. Other people around me arguing about drinks on their tab they never had, just like myself. All the little things added up in the end where it left me not wanting to ever deal with them, just because I found the issues were dumb things that are easily fixable. Still contemplating if I would give them a chance again. But I look forward to trying a more experienced cruise line next before I consider this one. I also must give credit to the kind crew. Front desk not so much. Read Less

Embarkation was extremely smooth... we arrived at 1:00 in order to let the initial throng of people get through. It was a completely full this this weekend and yet once we arrived, it took 5 minutes for the Valet Parking to get our car and a total of less then 30 minutes from Arrival to drink in hand. I'll take that. During check in, you'll get your picture taken, then offered a chance to buy upgraded dinners, shore excursions, drink tickets, bottle service and just about everything in-between. Cabins are supposed to be ready by 3:00, they were ready at 2:00. We were located on the 4th Deck, just forward of MidShips. We had a king bed along with a pull down off the wall bed for our 13 year old daughter. Our bed was actually pretty comfortable, the room was of good size for a cruise ship and even the bathroom worked fine. It had the most closet space I have seen in a while with more then enough hangers. All we needed was a couple extra pillows and those were delivered in only 15 minutes after our request. Dining, we upgraded on the first night to the Admiralty Restaurant. This is a 5 course dinner in a nice well set-up dining room. The service here was elegant and fairly attentive. It took longer then I would have liked for a wine refill, however the food was presented very well and the taste was above expectations. The service personnel could not have been nicer. On a note, you can book dinner here as part of your included cruise cost, however it is a different menu and YOU MUST MAKE A RESERVATION. We also booked both mornings of a champagne breakfast that includes Mimosa, bloody mary's and such and a made to order fine breakfast. This was one of our mistakes. Not that it was generous in it's offerings, it's just that we don't drink in the morning and we don't eat nearly enough to make this work it. There are plenty of offerings on the buffet or cooked to order by the pool to make this unnecessary. Based on the number of people who booked this breakfast, I'd say there are a lot smarter people on board then me. Drinks... a book of drink tickets was $70 plus service charge; 18%. We received 1 book free as a promotion, then bought one more along with the Soda Refill package for our daughter at $21 plus service charge. You'll be given more then multiple opportunities to buy these tickets. We only used 10 the both days combined, so again a bad purchase on our end. There are drink specials with half price drinks at sailaway and bucket beer promotions as well. Unless you plan on having enough to drink that you'll enter a hot legs contest, slow down on buying these. Entertainment was good.. Nothing great except the comedian on board, but it was still nice. Again, keep in mind this isn't Broadway, celebrity or even carnival.. it's a 2 night cruise to the Bahamas. It puts things into perspective and you'll enjoy the trip much more. Service Charges.. yes, they have service charges as does every other cruise ship your on. No matter what you buy in the way of food or beverage, you'll pay an extra 18% in service charges. Even that bottle of water in your room, $4.50 and 18%. Now that your fully aware, get over it and don't complain about it. That same bottle of water would cost you twice that price at a sporting event. Kids Area.... My one big complaint. The teen area is supposed to be for teens only. Everyone was walking through there and even little kids playing there as well. Because of that, few teens actually stayed near the place. That's to bad as we had hoped out daughter could meet people on board. That didn't happen and with the supervision promised, someone should have keep those who were not supposed to be there from being there. Disembarkation was amazing.. Again, with passports in hand, we were off the boat and in our car in less then 30 minutes I'm glad we took this cruise. We spent way more then expected, but it was enjoyable and our daughters first chance to snorkel. We had a great time and would recommend to others with clear expectations. Read Less

My husband, two sons, ages 19 and 25, and I cruised Jan 12 out of West Palm Beach. We had a great time and really enjoyed comparing one of Carnival's oldest ships, now rebranded, with its newest ship, the Vista, which we sailed in November. Embarkation was so easy. We pulled up to the curb at the easily accessible and attractive glass port building and got out luggage out. The valet took our car and we chose to tag two bigger bags so we wouldn't have to take them to the lunch buffet. We were sent in and had no wait time to say we preferred the earlier dinner hour of six pm. Huge chocolate chip cookies and water were available and though I grabbed one for each son, they weren't needed as there was no waiting, just a quick walk onto the ship where an employee was greeting everyone and directing us straight up to the buffet. Bahamas Paradise is 100 feet shorter than the Carnival Sensation, but it doesn't feel like a small ship as there are still 10 decks and the cabin are on very long halls. The buffet does, however, feel a lot smaller. They don't offer a big variety, but we think the food is better than on the Carnival or Royal buffet. DH said less variety, but we don't care about a huge variety of not great food. Lunch was fried chicken, soup, large salad bar, fresh fruit and cheeses and desserts. Hamburgers and hot dogs are available pool side. Waiters are plentiful as is seating. We enjoyed sitting in the shade but there was plenty of room in the dining room and plenty of loungers. We were eating at 1 and arrived at 12:15. As soon as we started eating, the captain announced rooms were ready. We thought the rooms are the same size as we have had on our other cruises and as nicely appointed, better in some cases as we had ice buckets and tongs and ice without requesting. The beds are super comfortable, like the Carnival beds and as nicely made up. The towels are thicker than we've had in the past. We were in and out of Stellar Prime, the MDR, in an hour! We ordered right after being seated, our water glasses were refilled several times and the food was terrific. I pictures of the menus and I'll try to post them. On the Vista, we had to give up eating in the dining room. We begged for the dessert menus but our servers must have been too busy. We didn't like two hour dinners, no refills and asking over and over for the main and dessert menus. We've had better service on other Carnival ships in past years, though, and better service on Royal, too. The service on the Paradise was equal with the best service on the other lines. The shows were pretty good. The comedian was equally funny as the comedians on the other lines and the dancers were as good, but the singing was weaker, as was the choreography, but still decent shows. We had turn down service without requesting and several towel animals! On the RCI Explorer, we did not get nightly towel animals. The breakfast at the MDR was wonderful. Delicious omelets and eggs made to order and a buffet in the the room with waffles, french toast, grits, oatmeal, other cereals, fresh fruit, etc. Waiters circulated constantly with coffee and juice. On the RCI Vision, we had to eat breakfast at the buffet because the service was so slow and pitiful. The new ships are better and more expensively decorated, but the Paradise has some extremely nice features. It has some beautiful and fancy marble and tile floors, which the Vista lacked and the Helm on the Paradise is the prettiest room I've seen on any ship. It has an 8 feet in diameter glass mosaic inlaid light fixture of the Queen Mary and old ship paintings all around the tops of the walls. There are two massive bookcases with glass fronts and five or six polished game tables. We enjoyed playing cards in there and listening to the pianist next door. This ship also has a sweet shop with cakes and cookies and a counter of gelato. There is another counter of gelato in the buffet room. We are thrilled with the Pig and Anchor on the Carnival ships, but the lines were insane on the Vista and the bbq bar is only open a few hours of a cruise. On the Paradise, on the day we were in Freeport, a bbq buffet was set up pooside and it was open for hours. The hamburger and hot dogs were available in another area. We were very impressed with the bbq and the ship has a smokehouse. Astroturf covers one deck, which looks good and is nice for the many cornhole games set up. There is also a bandstand on this deck. The pools and hot tubs are not as attractive as they are on the other lines. This cruise isn't cheaper than more mainline cruises unless you get the Groupon, but with the Groupon, it is quite a deal We wish, however, the Paradise went to Nassau because passengers must take a taxi or an excursion to do anything in Freeport. We could not even walk to a beach. We enjoyed our time on the Paradise and wished we had had another night. Read Less

I didn't choose this line, but I went along with the family. Not mentioned anywhere on the web site literature was there any mention of the Hispanic dominance of the food and staff. The serving staff were extremely nice and helpful. However, not all members of the serving staff spoke English. The ship was very clean all over. The restaurant "complimentary food" in Stellar Prime Dinning room selections were not to anyone's taste in our party. When the meals were served, they were generally the wrong selection ordered and/or barely warm. It seemed the waiters had trouble with English or didn't care what they served us. Thank goodness for the Plunge Grill and their hot dogs and hamburgers. Their best meals were found on the breakfast buffet. They did have activities for kids. There were many extras available for high dollar fees. Embarkation process was a nightmare. The first indication this cruise was a bad idea was waiting hours for the checking in process to begin. If I could get my money back I would have after the first hour. Getting off the ship was a lot easier and a relief. Never Again! Cabin was OK for one person. I pity the family of 2 or more the the typical cabin. Read Less

Okay, so you're going to say "you get what you pay for", but you deserve better! Pay the extra $100 for better quality! Its not the ship (which is older and smaller, so it produces more pollutants so beware when the ship is sailing and your at the back of the ship), its the crew/staff and the fine print! Of course you have some crew that are nice (mostly bartenders), but they obviously do not get the same training as other better quality cruise ships, especially customer service and anyone that you need to call. My friend and I needed customer service for the exact same thing, i went to one member and she to another, I was able to do what i needed, but they other guy told her no. There is a lack of communication, and it is obvious on the faces of the crew that they do not want to be there because they are overworked and underpaid. Wait staff at the restaurants are terrible, and took forever to change courses. As for activities, shows were very high schooly, in terms of performance except for one or two actors. It lacked a sharpness for having to repeat it so often. Spa was ok (i had a decent experience with a facial, but my friend's manicure was done in less than 10 minutes, not exaggerating), but obviously rushed to get in as many people as possible. The cruise frequently has extra charges. They actually CHARGE for the comedian. I have never seen that on another cruise ship. Its always included. You will be nickeled and dimed for many things. Expect to have a good hundred dollars extra because there will be things you never would have thought of. Not surprising is alcohol, but the drinks were small for $10 a pop, plus an automatic 18% for gratuity. Even if the service is bad they get 18%. There was only a few servers that i felt deserved that much. The cruise line should be paying them more appropriately. Food was cafeteria food. Sometimes they would try to make it look fancy, but it was still bland and lacked variety. I've had better lean cuisines. We decided not to do a shore excursion after seeing a review of the island on YouTube, which worked in our favor because we could get into the pools with less people. But man, that view! I hope you love the sight of shipping docks full of containers and boats, and oil pads with rusty ships! Don't forget the eyesore of the oil refineries! There are tons of them! If you get yourself in the right spot, you may be able to take a picture, crop out the edges for your friends to fool them into thinking this was amazing. Overall, nope. If this is the first cruise you have ever been on, maybe you'll like it because you have nothing else to compare it to. But once you go you will find a lot of unhappy campers who felt that they were misled. Read Less

We had been on this ship last year and had no problems. This time our stateroom was aft. Right above the engine room. For 45 minutes after leaving port and before docking the noise and clatter was horrific. Items slid off the shelves, the room shuttered, and it all sounded like there were loose items in the engine room bouncing around and hitting the walls. To all who sail on the Grand Celebration out of Palm Bay, Florida - do NOT accept an aft room. You will be charged the same amount as a forward room and you will think you are in a chamber of horrors. The room was clean and the housekeeping person was very nice. Many of the slot machines were out of order. The excursion was trip around the island and ended up at a beach where we had lunch. That was enjoyable. We did get 5 drink coupons - that was good.
