Butlins on steroids at sea

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Ventura

We booked this with 3 other couples 2 of these had not cruised before. We are aged between 38 and 49. The intention was a taster of cruising. The attraction was the overnight stay in Amsterdam. I had been on Ventura 10 years ago with my family and had a great time. The ship has held up well given its age. First opinion on boarding was pleasant and well organised. Staff at Southampton were ...

Food Poisonng!!! Horrible first cruise experience!

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

Got food poisoning & we were quarantined for 2 ports! It was aweful!!! They knew they poison people because they didn’t charge us for the medical visit & meds given onboard. We were a group of 18 people. This was our first cruise & it was the worst experience ever!!! It was a total waste of our money & time! Our first port was supposed to be Hav’re, France & we were going to Paris, but they ...

Never will sail with NCL again

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

On the ship now and grateful we only have a few more days. For my family of 5, this has been a terrible experience. We took our 14 year d daughter to the clinic to make sure she didn’t have appendicitis and got a bill for $2,500!! All they did was a simple blood and urine test and told us it would cost $149 for her to be seen. Also, the food has been below average to average at best. The ...

Silver Sea NEVER AGAIN!

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Silver Spirit

User Avatar

We just got off the SilverSea Spirit, from Lisbon to Southampton, our fourth and DEFINITELY our LAST time on SilverSea.. Physically the boat needs to be gutted; it is dated and ugly. The carpeting throughout is old and worn. The furniture is probably as old as the carpeting. Aesthetically, it wasn’t pleasing when everything was new and now it is ugly, dated and way past its prime. My family goes ...

Lost its Sparkle ,,, we were so looking forward to getting on Anthem of the seas but were soon to be dissapointed with how different Royal Caribbean run the ship to what they were like before covid . They have lost the Top spot for us , no Sparkle . Other cruise lines are overtaking them and its a shame . One other point Drinks prices are so over priced . Food good ,staff lovely . The ...

Essentials Done Right, Something for EVERYONE

Review for a Canary Islands Cruise on Anthem of the Seas

User Avatar

We very much enjoyed our 12-Night Canary Island sailing aboard the Anthem of the Seas. Our expectations were met or exceeded, and the majority of the CONs presented below were minor compared to the line/ship's ability to do the essentials reliably well and while all are opportunities for improvement, none were "deal breakers" that would prevent us from sailing the line or ship in the future. ...

UniWorld Does Not Act in Good Faith

Review for a Europe - River Cruise Cruise on S.S. Antoinette

UniWorld Cruise, as a company, was a disappointment. Unfortunately because of flooding conditions on the Rhine River, we missed out on the first four days of our sailing cruise and three cities. UniWorld was well aware before the trip started that we would not be able to sail to our locations. They should have given us the option of canceling and rebooking, we would have chosen to reschedule. ...

Our 1st Oceania Cruise

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Marina

User Avatar

Excellent 12-day cruise aboard the Marina. The cruise met all our expectations except for some of the shore excursions which in my opinion went too deep into the historical details of the place vs. giving us time to freely experience/roam around/shop on our own. The ship's crew was very attentive to all our request and the smaller ship size was a very nice change from the larger cruise ships. The ...

Disappointed Viking River Cruise

Review for a Europe - River Cruise Cruise on Viking Gullveig

User Avatar

First Time Cruiser • Age 70s

Shipboard experience was great. However, due to flooding, our cruise was cut short by several days. I am not complaining about the flooding, of course. I am complaining about the way Viking handled it. I followed the flooding for a couple of days on the internet, waiting for Viking to announce plans. Finally, on the evening of the 4th day, we were told everyone had to leave the boat by 8:30 the ...
