MSC Splendida
We stayed on the MSC Splendida for one week! The experiences was from positive through to negative.
The negative feeling after the trip unfortunately prevailed: it was our first and last cruise and we could not wait to leave the ship at the end.
In general:
The Splendida is an imposing and beautiful ship, which has a lot to offer. It appears neat and clean. It was also ...
We sailed on the Splendida last September and loved everything which is why we booked again. Everything was pretty much the same except for the food. On our last cruise there were 7 courses each night and generous portions as well as delicious choices. This time it was only 3 courses and they were small. There was one gala night but still only 3 courses so not sure what made it a gala night. We ...
We had always cruised with Royal Caribbean but were getting more and more frustrated by the dwindling service levels. Along came MSC with the amazing Status Match scheme which allowed us to take our first cruise with them and at their highest loyalty level.
We take a lot of cruises and have already booked five with MSC, before even taking the first (brave or stupid). The Status Match is a great ...
This was the second time i have been on a cruise with MSC, the first occasion was on Preziosa in September 2015. I can honestly say i was once again disappointed with the quality of the food. The food was never hot or even warm, the food was certainly not at the correct temperature of 75 degrees which is the temperature in line with health and safety. I would love to be a health and safety officer ...
The Splendida is a super ship, the largest I have ever been on! It has everything on board that you would want and it's colourful, plush, glitzy, and very very clean. The main restaurants have 2 sittings, we were on the early sitting and the food was always hot with a good choice. There is a self service restaurant which had everything imaginable and was huge, probably more suited to those with ...
This was our first cruise experience - £599 including flights for 7 nights flying from Gatwick for a cabin with balcony.
Long delay with British Airways but once we arrived at Genoa all went smoothly
The ship is HUGE and orientating yourself about the ship isn't easy
It is however spotlessly clean and staff are continually cleaning - day and night
The food was disappointing - Luke warm and a ...
We did this cruise with the msc Splendida in the autumnholiday (it is a week's holiday in autumn, the week of nov 1, all of germany and belgians have holiday then, I'm not sure of the rest of Europe). So you can imagine it was very, very, very crowdy. Lot's and lot's of children, lot's of german people. The ship was on it's maximum capacity. Even staff mentioned it was way to crowdy. Buffet was ...
Here are our PERSONAL views about our recent MSC yacht club experience on the Splendida. We have completed 6 previous cruises, but this was our first with MSC. We found a yacht club 'deal', and at the end of the day were pleased we did!. It may be of help to give the positives and negatives to help the reader, so here we go.
Positive: We flew to Nice to depart Genoa. No problems with the flight, ...
After the MSC Divina we were given free overland transfers to Genoa but as soon as we arrived I felt a downgrade in everything compared to the Divina. We were dumped around 500m away from the rather dirty maritime station with all our luggage along with a few fellow ex-MSC Divina passengers. Instead of offering help or even giving us directions MSC staff came to collect a few cardboard boxes ...
Having sailed on quite a few MSC cruises, it seems that overall service is deteriorating.
Are the services bad?
No
Are the services good?
No
It is just all average...no more no less!
It seems that management is only focused on a few things:
1.MSC Yacht Club, sometimes more than 5 all dressed up butlers where greeting the Yacht club members in port!! I'm sure most ...
